  1. ...talk Brady (& Belicheat) into retirement.
  2. The Bills should trade for Curtis Painter. That way, they'd have a Carpenter, Wood, & Painter. Bring in Jamie Nails & 'House' Ballard as assistant offensive line coaches to help the running game lay the lumber and the organization would (wood?) have a solid foundation from which to build.
  3. NG, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have two sons and can't begin to imagine your pain. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. I hope that Danny is finally at peace.
  4. Not a chance. Lombardi won the first two Super Bowls and it should stay as is. Belichick's accomplishments, like it or not, come with the cheating stigma attached. Nope. It should stay the Lamar Hunt trophy. Kansas City was the first AFL/AFC participant in the Super Bowl and Hunt was the most influential AFL owner. He was also instrumental in the AFL/NFL merger. The NFL screws with its game all the time and doesn't have the cherished stats of MLB but this is one of the few things that they have continued to get right.
  5. Fried okra (yeah, I know...fried).
  6. I was a 13 year old 7th grader, living in Grand Island. We had a two story house and the snow drifts were up to the windows on the second floor. I remember having to come thru the garage to get out and tunnel thru to the front door. There was no way to open it as the snow was packed up against the storm door. Once a path was cleared, I remember thinking that it looked like we were coming out of an igloo. Pretty wild stuff. My best friend lived across the street on a cul de sac and the snow plows pushed as much of the snow to the middle of it as they could. We used that huge mound as a snow fort/mountain fortress for snowball fights and I swear I remember it still melting down in May. It was awesome for a kid (not so much for those who had to work or drive in it). Huddling around the radio for weeks with my brother & sister waiting for Danny Neaverth to announce the snow closings on WKBW was one of my fondest memories of that time .
  7. I suspect Kelce was fined more because he threw his towel directly at an official.
  8. Richmond, VA (West End) via Silver Creek/Orchard Park/ Grand Island (mostly).
  9. This thread proves one thing conclusively...that WNYers are wing snobs (and rightfully so). The Anchor Bar vs Duff's debate will never die. I'm a Duff's guy myself but my brother swears by Anchor Bar. Then, again, he's a kitty. WIngs, much like music, are very subjective. What one person likes, another hates. Doesn't make either person right or wrong. It's just a personal preference. Thank God that we have choices. Having said that, almost any place in WNY is the 'Gold Standard' compared to the offerings here in Richmond. It's still amazing to me that very few places outside of WNY know how to make something as simple as a 'Buffalo Wing'. Unreal. BTW, they're supposed to be opening an Anchor Bar here in November. I will definitely be checking it out...can't possibly be any worse than the offerings we have now. I'm just glad that we finally have a Wegman's near me. Debate on my friends.
  10. Good points. He's certainly a more realistic option than Jeffery who has a $14.599 million cap hit. The Bills don't have that kind of flexibility. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/alshon-jeffery-9855/
  11. I wouldn't argue with anyone who didn't like Torrey Smith's salary/cap hit but he would not be a "1-year rental" like Alshon Jeffery or Michael Floyd. He's under contract thru 2019. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/torrey-smith-7777/
  12. Thank you, kind sir. You did quite well yourself. I've never encountered the negative issues from DTV that some are reporting and I've been with them since 1998. I hope I never do.
  13. Okay, so I have never waited this long but finally made the call a few hours ago. Talked to a friendly, front-line woman and told her I was looking to lower my bill. She only offered me $10 per month off of the sports package ($14 per month normally) for the next 6 months. Didn't seem like she was going to dig any further for me so I politely asked her after 5 minutes if she could transfer me to Customer Retention to see if they could do anything more for me. She said, "sure". Next, talked to a guy in Customer Retention who was originally from Ontario, Canada (just over the border from Michigan). Again, told him I was looking to lower my bill and he said that I was at the right place and that he would definitely be able to help me. I said it would be nice if maybe I could do something about the NFL Sunday Ticket and left it at that. He asked who my favorite NFL team was and when I told him the Bills, he said he's always liked them and had been to some games at The Ralph. We talked football for a minute and then I turned the conversation to hockey and he said that although he was a Red Wings fan, he'd always like the Sabres, too, and said the Wings needed to tank to get back on track. We talked sports for a good 10 minutes or more before turning to the finances. Very cool, nice guy. He started looking at things and said, "I see that you're eligible for Free NFL Sunday Ticket Max." I coyly said, "Really??" lol. It was all gravy from there. Here is what I got. I'm more than happy: - Free NFL Sunday Ticket Max ($359.94 savings). - $59.99 one-time credit for the first installment of NFL Sunday Ticket Max that had been charged to my account (and paid) on my last billing statement a few days prior. - $10 per month off the sports package for the next 6 months ($60 savings). - $40 per month off my bill for the next 12 months ($480 savings). Total savings: $899.94 (not counting the $59.99 credit)! Good luck to anyone else who still plans to try but hasn't yet.
  14. Yes, that was a big conversation piece, pre-draft. The thought was that he' d be a stud but lucky to last 3 or 4 years max. Time will tell.
  15. I heard a rumor that the 'Burning Bag of Dog Poo' is the newest item on his restaurant's menu. I believe it's served on an over-sized plate with his likeness.
  16. For those who couldn't catch the game live, looks like it's being re-broadcast on NFLN this Monday, 8/29, at 1:00 PM.
  17. Stop dogging him, Tom. And don't call him Shirley.
  18. He dropped a 1st quarter TD from Tyrod after being mugged by the D...but no pass interference was called. Just one of the many butchered calls by Ed Hoculi and his band of criminals.
  19. How in the hell do the refs get away with making that offensive pass interference call with 10 seconds left in a preseason game? Good grief.
  20. Look, I said I agreed it was a problem last year. There was a learning curve applied to year one, IMO. I want to see if it's a problem in the regular season this year. If it is, then it's a big problem and probably an organizational issue. I want to see if year two under this regime is any different before I condemn them as having a problem with penalties. I don't care about what the scrubs are doing in a meaningless game. You do. So be it. I neither disagree with you entirely nor agree with you entirely. I hope we can call a truce at this point.
  21. Why don't you give it a rest, "dude". You're the one coming at me with flawed logic and you're crying about the officials. Talk about flawed. Which is it? The undisciplined Bills or the horrible officials?? All I said was that the bulk of the penalties in this game have been committed by many guys who won't be on the team opening day. I said earlier that I wasn't happy with all of the penalties last year. That was last year. Let's see if it's still an issue with the starters this year in their second season under this regime. If it continues, then, yeah it's a problem. But tonight? No. Try watching the meaningless game instead of crusading. Another new and self-righteous nation heard from.
  22. Yet you're on record in this very thread stating that officiating is ruining the NFL. LMFAO.
