Giants going Defense? Gettleman likely tips his hand
ExWNYer replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Communicating in French for him would be like taking a franchise QB. He'd be more likely to take up communicating in Pig Latin. -
Nice. I set mine to difficult and no trades were allowed so I ended up making 10 picks. Oliver was off the board at 3 so not an option for me. I had options at 9 including TE Hockenson and OT Taylor. I deferred on Hockenson feeling that I could get value later on and ended up with Kahale Warring who is flying under the radar, IMO. It was also tough to pass on Taylor but I really wanted to take care of the edge first which is still a bigger need than OL so Sweat was a no brainer for me. Irv Smith was calling my name in the 2nd but there was just too much value in Dexter Lawrence to not take him. Along with Sweat, that really solidifies the D. The only thing missing is another CB. Elgton Jenkins was another value in the 4th and provides insurance at the pivot and a chance to learn behind Morse. I realize taking Pierschbacher had me grabbing centers with back-to-back picks but the thinking there was that he could kick out to guard. RB options were a little thinner that I had hoped in the 5th but I like Bryce Love and think that he'll make a solid pro.I didn't address CB until the 6th but Jordan Brown has length and a chance to contribute. Tyler Roemer is a project OT (who isn't in the 7th, right?) with a couple of minor issues in his past but has the physical tools, if he can keep his head on straight. I closed out with another WR in Alex Wesley. All in all, I liked what I ended up getting.

Bills 2019 schedule officially released
ExWNYer replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say it's technically a 'prime time' game because it's the only game on and going to the entire nation; however, I view Thanksgiving games in a similar way that I do the Super Bowl. While diehards like me and the posters on this board will watch regardless, a large portion of the audience will have the game on in the background, not paying strict attention to it due to socializing and mingling with family and friends. It's just part of the tradition and ambiance of the day. Cool but not must watch. With Sunday Night and Monday Night games, the focus is strictly on football. -
OTAs Phase 1: Let The Process Begin

I certainly wouldn't tell him that...to his face. ? -
And a whole lot of nothing. Well said, Hap. There are far too many 'Bills fans' on the board who do nothing but try to troll other Bills fans, IMHO.

There is no way on God's green earth that neanderthal GM Dave Gettleman would never trade his prized, franchise RB. He's more likely to tear up Barkley's contract and make him the highest paid player in the league than trade him for a franchise QB. Haven't you heard...it's 2019. Championships are built on the backs of stud RBs not QBs. Just ask Davey. He'll tell you, all the while extolling the virtues of the wishbone offense...

Man caves - who's got them? Let's see them.

It's not nearly as much as some of you have but nothing screams Bills and Sabres to me like this little beauty of a room... -
Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark

What about a guy with two last names and no first name? Are you listening, Bol Bol? -
Dare I say, Bills might be the pick for Hard Knocks this year
ExWNYer replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't see it being anyone other than the Raiduhs either. And I sincerely hope that the Bills are never chosen. -
Better yet, convert the new Josh Allen to QB and have him battle it out with last year's model of Josh Allen for the starter's job. The loser of the competition then becomes the backup QB. If the starter gets hurt then they never miss a beat because Josh Allen takes over for Josh Allen. Beane does it again!

You wanted them to Zig...but instead they zagged.

I don't care about Rodgers one way or the other and you're certainly entitled to your irrational hatred for a guy you've never met. My opinion is that McCarthy is no great shakes as a coach and I'm certainly entitled to my opinion.
-
Regardless, McCarthy deserved to be fired. He was the most overrated coach this side of Jon Gruden. I was hoping the Jest would hire him.

NFL Schedule Should Be Released Next Week

I predict that the Bills will play 15 Sunday games at 1:00 PM and a MNF game at the Jest in the first half of the season. -

Any truth to the rumor that Metcalf wants the G-meh or the Jest to draft him so he can rock a 'DKNY' t-shirt? ? -
I like Hockenson as a prospect but it's disturbing to me that so many people are willing to overdraft him at #9. Look at the list of TEs drafted since 2009. There are some very good names but the highest drafted were Eric Ebron (#10 in 2014) & O.J. Howard (#19 in 2017). Ebron was a reach and a borderline bust (until last year) at #10. Howard was very good value at #19, IMO. Notice no Gronk (RD 2), Ertz (RD 2), or Kelce (RD 3). If Hockenson turns out to be half the players those guys are, the Bills would be fortunate. The 2017 draft was a good one for TEs. Besides Howard, it produced some very good up-and-coming, potential stars and none of them were taken higher than #19: Evan Engram (#23 NYG, RD 1), David Njoku (#29 CLE, RD 1), and George Kittle (#146 SF, RD 5). The board got this one wrong, IMO. Color me surprised if the Bills actually pull the trigger on Hockenson that high. History (theirs and league), suggests otherwise. Interesting to me in the list below is that 4 of the first 10 TEs taken in the last 10 years were by perennial 'also-rans' Detroit and Cincinnati. Baltimore has also attempted to get their guy twice but not any higher than #25. FWIW, my choice was Sweat. That may not be wise either, who knows. I just don't think that TE is the right value at #9. We'll see. The 1st TE taken in each draft since 2009: 2018: Hayden Hurst (#25 BAL, RD 1) 2017: O.J. Howard (#19 TB, RD 1) 2016: Hunter Henry (#35 LAC, RD 2) 2015: Maxx Williams (#55 BAL, RD 2) 2014: Eric Ebron (#10 DET, RD 1) 2013: Tyler Eifert (#21 CIN, RD 1) 2012: Coby Fleener (#34 IND, RD 2) 2011: Kyle Rudolph (#43 MIN, RD 2) 2010: Jermaine Gresham (#21 CIN, RD 1)) 2009: Brandon Pettigrew (#20 DET, RD 1) http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?position=TE&type=position

Reading tea leaves: Bills trade down with NYG or OAK

So what you're saying is that when Denver saw they were getting a Chubb, they boned the Bills...
