Eric Washington Named Defensive Line Coach
ExWNYer replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any idea why Washington wouldn't follow Rivera to Washington? He had ample time to bring him along before Teerlink bolted for VA Tech. -

Yeah, it may go well initially but I don't see it lasting or ending well. -
See you at the funeral. I'll pray for you.

The Saints lost last year on an egregious non-call and on a controversial play this year. They are now the first team in NFL history to have six straight playoff eliminations by one score and the second team since the 2013-2015 Packers to be eliminated in three straight postseasons on the final play of the game. Do you think the NFL has it in for New Orleans, too...one of their 'darling' franchises? Imagine if the Bills had lost three straight playoff games on the final play. This place would be losing its collective mind. The refs sucked in the Bills game and made some lousy calls but the reason Buffalo lost that game is they left way too many plays on the field. They settled for four FGs and it cost them, plain and simple. New England* suffered the same fate because they couldn't punch the ball into the end zone enough either. No need to hope you are wrong...you are. Everybody has probably screamed "This game is rigged!" or "The fix is in!" in the heat of the moment but they (hopefully) don't really believe that. There are so many things wrong with the NFL but rigging games is not one of them.

I'd rather see if they can pry away a young up and coming stud like Mike Williams of the Chargers. Big, fast, great hands and grossly underutilized by that organization. With Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry, and Austin Ekeler (and Melvin Gordon, if he's still there) there are a lot of mouths to feed there. Plus, they have an unsettled situation at QB. They may not want to let him go but I'd certainly inquire before looking into AJ Green. At 6' 4", 220 lbs, three years in the league, and still only 25 when the season starts, he's the WR I'd want.

He's publicly stated that he wants to remain with the Bengals. Whether or not the team feels the same way is another story. That said, he'll be 32 at the start of the 2020 season and he's played a total of 35 games in the last four years combined...that's 35 out of a possible 64. He's getting old and brittle and people are intrigued because of his name. The production, or lack thereof, does not warrant the investment. No thanks.

An NFL 'All-Star Crew' is like saying you're dating the best looking of the ugly girls... -
Elway has just weighed in...or is that 'neighed' in?

TB: "Let's dance, kid...Foxtrot or Waltz?" JA: "I don't care, Marcia, but I'M leading...and you ain't gettin' to the dance again as long as I can help it!"

...and in a corner, somewhere, Eli Manning is curled up in the fetal position and sobbing softly.

Absolutely! Right or wrong, a lot of people were dreading this stretch...Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and New England*. The Bills have weathered the storm nicely and are coming together/peaking at the right time and the D has turned it up a notch. Earliest playoff clinch since 1991...let that sink in everyone. Many on this board have never gotten the pleasure of experiencing that until now. Enjoy it...hopefully, this is the start of the new normal. Although they lost to the Ravens, that was the first time in a long time that I actually started looking forward to playing the Cheats* again. It's payback time on the national stage again, boys and girls. Let's finish off this revenge tour in style and head for bigger and better things in January! GO BILLS!!!
