Think of it as eating your vegetables in order to get dessert later. ?

The NFL is king. It's good to be the king.
-
Are you planning to attend the game in person? That would make sense. Otherwise, why does it matter what the weather is when one outdoor team from the Northeast plays another outdoor team from the Northeast?
-
Other than Gayle Sayers, Walter Payton, and the 1985 squad, they have been as milquetoast as any team could possibly be since the AFL/NFL merger. They were the perfect organization for Dick Jauron.

'Cousin Oliver' from 'The Brady Bunch'. Pointless, useless character.

Yes, but they are always disguised as empty seats... -
I think you meant to say Rams.

That was my understanding of why all of the OOC games would be at the beginning of the schedule. Maybe he should have chosen something other than 'postpone'. Might be a poor word choice or just semantics. Either way, like you said, we'll know in two days.
-
I believe that's a perceived 'contingency schedule'. The out of conference games would be front loaded in the event that the schedule needs to be contracted for a later calendar start. OOC games would be the first to be eliminated because conference games would be more important for playoff tiebreakers.

Come on now. Let's all keep our heads here.

As was mentioned, she was on 'Mad Men' and is currently on NBC's 'Good Girls'. She separated from her husband, actor Geoffrey Arend, last fall. If you're not familiar with him, I have attached a photo for those of you who think that you may now have a shot with his soon-to-be ex. Go for it... @Gugny

If you are referring to 1999 vs the Jets and 2000 vs the Titans then, yes, the Bills were on Sunday Night but those games were carried by ESPN when 'Monday Night Football' was still considered the crown jewel of the NFL schedule. It wasn't until NBC started airing 'Sunday Night Football' in 2006 that the Sunday evening games were considered THE game of the week. The Bills appeared on ESPN's Sunday Night games 16 times between 1991 and 2005. 'Monday Night Football' on ABC was considered the 'must watch' game during that span. Now it is the Sunday night game and 'Football Night in America' on NBC. The Bills have only appeared on NBC's version twice, both via flex.

Yes, it would be. First. Ever. Read my original post again. The NE* (2007) and Pittsburgh (2019) Sunday Night games versus the Bills were not originally scheduled, they were flexed. The Week 11 2007 game was scheduled to be the 4-5 Bears at the 5-4 Seahawks but the NFL flexed in the 5-4 Bills to be the sacrificial lamb of the 9-0 Pats* during their regular season run to 16-0. You are correct about the rout (56-10), I am correct in stating that if the Bills are scheduled (not flexed) for Sunday Night Football when this year's schedule is released on Thursday, it will be the first time ever. Since 2006, when NBC gained the rights to the 'Sunday Night Football' package and it became the the crown jewel of the NFL schedule, the Bills have appeared only twice, both via flex, which is tied for the fewest ever appearances with the Browns, Jags, and Bucs (which will change this year due to Brady's arrival). Surprisingly, the Dolphins have only appeared three times, second fewest. By contrast, the Cowboys have appeared a ridiculous 47 times, the most by any team. Tied for second most at 38 appearances each are the Pats* and Eagles. So, if the Bills are scheduled on their own merit this year, it will mark an historic, franchise 'first'. Sad but true. GO BILLS!!!

Sure it makes sense. I would not argue that. If you look up 'attention whor*' in the dictionary, I believe you may just find the NFL shield. ?

If Colin Cowturd said it, then it is ABSOLUTELY true (in his own egotistical head)...

Top Five Professional Wrestlers of All Time
ExWNYer replied to Logic's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I used to watch it after SNL in the '80s because there was nothing else on TV at the time and also watched occasionally on Saturday morning/early afternoon. My favorite wrestler by far was Ricky Steamboat and I enjoyed when his tag team partner was Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka before Snuka became a 'bad guy'. I also liked 'Chief' Wahoo McDaniel and 'Blackjack' Mulligan and always found Ric Flair amusing. You couldn't pay me to watch wrasslin' now. *Note: Just noticed that the title was 'Top Five Wrestlers of All Time'. I'll leave that for all of you wrestling fans to debate. My post was just the wrestlers that I liked during my short duration watching it. Carry on... -
Utah coach on ESPN last night

You buried the lead... Did people get cold food because you were waiting in your car for Utah's coach to finish his interview? ? -
May 9th is a bit of a moving target. The official NFL statement was that the schedule was expected to be released no later than Saturday, May, 9, 2020.

I think they'll get at least three...Thursday Night and Monday Night for sure and probably their first ever scheduled Sunday Night game. That's the 'contingency schedule'. The out of conference games would be front loaded in the event that the schedule needs to be contracted for a later calendar start. OOC games would be the first to be eliminated because conference games would be more important for playoff tiebreakers.

RIP Glad the Bills were able to get their 'payback' in the '90s and end his legendary career by sending him off into the sunset with a playoff loss.
-
Assuming a full season, the Bills will be getting 16* 'prime time' games. Well, at least in my mind. Whenever the Bills are playing, it's always 'prime time' in my household. * - Does not include playoffs and Super Bowl.

What was your most frustrating season as a Bills fan?
ExWNYer replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kudos to everyone for all of these submissions. I don't know that this was the most frustrating for me. In fact, I'm sure it's probably not but everything is magnified when you're a kid. I was so in love with my Buffalo Bills that every loss/failure hurt like crazy. My submission for this thread is the 1973 season...the year that O.J. Simpson ran for 2,003 yards behind Lou Saban's 'Electric Company'. For context, this was the Bills' first winning season since I was old enough to remember following them. I was 9 years old when that season began, 10 when it ended. The team got off to a great start that year, going 4-1. Those four wins matched their entire total for the previous season which had been preceded by a one win season. The loss that kept them from going 5-0? Week 2...at San Diego...a 34-7 thrashing to a Chargers team which had lost it's opener, 38-0...a blowout loss to a team which then proceeded to lose 6 of its next 7 games with the one non-loss being a tie....a blowout loss to a team which then ended its 7 game winless streak by beating a bad New Orleans team (finished 5-9) and then dropping its final four games to finish...2-11-1. To make matters worse, the Bills lost to that same Saints team, at New Orleans, 13-0. That Saints loss came during a horrible mid-season stretch whereby the Bills stumbled to a 1-4 record, leaving them at 5-5. They then got hot again, winning their final four games to finish 9-5...and missing the playoffs by one game. Back then, the three division winners and the one non-division winner with the best record in each conference advanced to the playoffs. Had the Bills beaten the 2-11-1 Chargers and the 5-9 Saints, they would have finished with a 11-3 record and claimed the Wild Card over the 10-4 Pittsburgh Steelers. An 11-3 finish would have left them with the second best record in the entire AFC, second only to the 12-2 division winning '0 for the '70s' Miami Dolphins. As 'Billsy' a season as any. The '73 and '74 playoff Bills (both 9-5) along with the '75 Bills (8-6) were an oasis in an otherwise vast 1970s desert. BTW, the '75 Bills started 4-0 before finishing 4-6 (which was another extremely frustrating season). Hot starts followed by epic collapses...sound familiar, Bills fans? Here's to (hopefully) a bright future going forward.
