I would rather draft a real linebacker under ths theory. How about Maualuga (if available) ? All he has done is prove to be the best player on one of the best teams for two years in a row. Hw would immediately be the best defensive player on the roster.... from Day 1.

That's why Kelly screamed with sadness when he was drafted by Buffalo. Not doubting that Wilson blew it .. on the other hand things worked out in the sense that we wouldn't have been able to draft Bruce smith if Kelly had signed with us.

However, moving down one slot in the draft may have cost us John Fina and Jeff Burris, who would have been steals ------if they had been taken in the third round, instead of the first. I agree , they may have won more, as you don't know how free agency would have changed the perspective of players on our team(Wil Wolford) as well as other teams players....so many intangibles could have meant another title or two. I've been a fan since 1965 and I just want one Title before I leave this world. That will erase all (I hope) the horrible feelings from 1980,1990,1991,1992,1993.

However, Leinart is the counter argument. I think the incredible advantage that NE has in coaching helped Cassel. Would he have had the same success with the Bills and their staff. I would like to think so but have serious doubts. But Sanchez is a lot brighter than Leinart and his sucess will probably hinge, in part , to the team that chooses him.
