  1. At his current pace of 9 points per game, it would take him 7 seasons to become the all time leading scorer [barring injury]. We have him under contract til 2024. Tucker, arguably the top kicker in the league makes $5MM. Top rank kickers on their 2nd contract make $4MM. Question will be with Josh's mega salary, can we afford to spend that much on our kicker. PFF currently has him ranked 7th on FG/XP. He's 3rd from the bottom on Kickoffs, but that may be due to some of our gaming on ST's.
  2. Bruce was longer and more physical than Jerry. People forget, Bruce was 300 pounds as a rookie before Darryl Talley and his eventual wife Carmen got on him about his training habits. He also played all three downs, and often tied up two blockers if they ran to his side.
  3. Last successful "free kick field goal" [the official term] was Ray Wersching, San Diego vs. Buffalo, November 21, 1976. Good from 45 at the end of the first half. This kick put the Chargers up 27-10, and so is missing from most brief recaps of the game. This is the last known successful NFL free kick.
  4. I'm old enough to remember Pete Gogolak making a 57 yarder [one yard longer than the NFL record] in a preseason game, and that began the move to soccer style Kickers, think that was in 1964.
  5. Hostetler wasn't even a top notch backup, and he outplayed JK in the Super Bowl.
  6. I think to poach a PS player, you have to put them on the active roster. Are Russell Okung or Mitchell Schwartz worth a 10 game rental?
  7. Dawkins better remember which Josh Allen he is supposed to block, he blocked the wrong Josh against the Titans.
  8. Zimmer was nicked up I believe. On the Injury report most of the week.
  9. Jags are very weak at the slot corner and the LB's, Best player is THEIR Josh Allen. Suspect another good day for Beasley, and Sweeney. Center and left side of their D-line are meh, so perhaps we are able to get some semblance of a running game going on the right side. Dawkins and Boettger will have to man up against JAX-Josh.
  10. Brady gets sacked twice at the end. Wonder how much longer he wants to get beat up.
  11. I think Josh has [along with an exceptional and deep receiver group] been for the most part the reason we are winning, and have been in every game to the end. I had hoped that the hero ball/intentional grounding gene had been exorcised, but it reared its ugly head again today.
  12. Bass 57 yarder in that weather.
  13. Not by much, they have @ Rams and NO in Music CIty, we are at NO, and at Brady.
  14. Byard just int'd Wentz, ball in FG range. Titans have the tiebreaker on us.
  15. Try being at that game in Nashville with your kid who was born a Bills fan. I believe Yogi Berra was right.
  16. Looking for Allen on Angry runs this week.
  17. Week 2 Inactives were: OT Tommy Doyle DE Boogie Basham DE Efe Obada DT Harrison Phillips LB Andre Smith Boogie and Obada are repeats, Doyle is called up because of Brown injury, Zimmer has been on the injury list.
  18. With Obada and ZImmer inactive, thinking they feel the need for faster DL with Tua.
  19. Gametime forecast. 52 degrees, 16% chance of rain, 13 mph winds off the lake, wind chill in high 30's. Tua is 1-3 in NFL games played in temps below 60 degrees, probably will want to go back to Hawaii.
  20. Fish two highest rated defensive players are LDE Ogbah (4th of 110 Edge Defenders) and Wilkins (8th out of 121 interior d lineman). PFF is showing Tommy Doyle in the lineup at the RT spot, and Williams staying at LG. Be interesting to see what plays out.
  21. Massey projects all games, as of this morning, he has Bills projected at 12-5 Cinci, Balt, Tenn, at 11-6, Raiders & Chargers at 10-7. 7 seed at 9-8 is one of Pitts, Cleve, Indy, KC. Tenn and Pitts have a win over Bills, so we would have to finish a game ahead of them. Locking up #1 seed might mean playing starters week 18. Only other AFC contender we play is Indy on 11/21. He has Patsies finishing at 8-9. Teams with toughest remaining schedules are Pitts, KC, Browns, and PoeBirds. Bills have the easiest remaining schedule in the league.
  22. Toronto is also less than 250 miles driving distance from Detroit, arguably worst team in the league.
  23. Austin and San Antonio are 80 miles apart, city center to city center. Austin has Darrel Royal/Texas Memorial stadium, seating capacity 100K already built, with club seating, luxury suites etc. No way Jerrah or McNair will allow a third team in Texas.
  24. The Knox to Allen 2 pt play was very creative, I think McKenzie was involved as well, I know Knox was hurt and not available at the end of the game, but I suspect there are more wrinkles to that red zone scheme. With the mediocrity of the Bills OL, would going with that type of scheme be a better choice. Also would like to see more Davis and Kumerow inside the 10, they are our biggest wideouts, and have the size to high point db's
