Referee Tony Corrente corrupt as *****!!!
BearNorth replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Then there's the issue that we have a 69 year old on-field referee. Please don't tell me that he's as fit and quick thinking as someone quite a bit younger. The refereeing crew is dealing with world class athletes in mainly their 20's and 30's. Colonels in the military have to retire when they are in their 50's. -

Truthfully Taunting [very subjective call] should just be a fine, perhaps escalating for repeat offenses. Penalizing a team for an action by one player that has nothing to do with the play is IMHO idiotic. Yes the players are very well paid, but perhaps a taunting penalty of $25K first offense, $100K second, and one game suspension for a third or subsequent would cure this without affecting the game being played. Same thing with non-contact unsportmanlike. Who knows how many of these are because the ref is having a bad day, had a bad travel experience on the way to the game, or is under the sway of people who want to influence the game outcome [Remember Tim Donaghy in the NBA]. IMHO The Tre White penalty kerfuffle against Jax falls into this category. The other thing is the subjectivity of holding calls. If the holding on the Derrick Henry TD in the Tenn game didn't rise to the level of a flag, then that should become the new standard example for not calling holding. Right now a ref could call holding on every single play, likely on both the offense and the defense, but they pick and choose. -
Beane wasn't here then, but this guy was right in their backyard. Guess I'll have to blame the Brandon brain trust.

Ali Marpet for example who went to college 100 miles from the OP. Meanwhile our #2 pick is inactive most weeks.

The loss of Knox has caught up to us
BearNorth replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh believes he has superior arm strength, so I think sometimes he throws fastballs without a lot of arc, and those are easier to tip or bat than throws with some arc and touch. He also has to throw quickly with the mess we call an O-line. Brady is a master of the perfectly arced touch pass. -

Josh is 6-5, Most O-lineman are at least that tall if not taller, Jax D line was 6-5 6-5 6-7 6-3. How do you get the ball to our smurf sized & slow RB's [Moss 5-9, Motor 5-7]. -

DB's might be better, but not seeing a Bruce Smith on the 2021 Bills team, also Milano & Edmunds < Bennett and Talley. -

Butch Rolle on the goal line was amazing. From 87-91 he caught 11 passes, 10 for TD's. -
after yesterday you certainly can't complain too much about his penchant for penalties at the worst time.

Can someone please tell me what Williams was doing on this play
BearNorth replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tall large people with a lot of upper body weight have a tendency towards bad backs. Brown has a more athletic build than your typical O lineman. -

K Gun had Thurman Thomas, just saying, he was better than any RB since OJ. Always had to account for Thurman. Current Bills don't have a Thurman. -

Frazier must be p*ssed. Held Jax to 218 yards, 100 below their season average, and never let them get into the end zone. -

You obviously didn't see the two KC games or the Tennessee game last year. -

Beane should be shot for not making a trade for a decent OL last week. -
Ruggs has got plenty of worries for sure. I suspect any assets he has will wind up going to the victim's family, not to mention the legal bills he will be running up. His partner will have huge medical bills, and since he was [allegedly] speeding and DUI, his auto insurance company may have language in their policy that gets them off the hook.

Tyler Bass named AFC ST Player of the Month
BearNorth replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering that Dusty Ziegler held that distinction as the Bills best 6th rounder, I would have to agree. But Stevie Johnson was a 7th rounder. -

But Blankenship has amazing glasses! Interesting, both in the same draft class and both played CFB in Georgia. -
Land Clark is the zebra crew. They had our game in Vegas last year. They throw about 7 flags a game on each team. Most significant call in last year's game was a 46 yard dpi against Poyer that led to a Raider td.
