  1. Pretty sure when "King Henry" ran for 75 against us in the Music City, that Quessenberry sealed the left [inside] edge and allowed Henry to break free.
  2. Bills were also down their #1 [man on an island] corner in that game, people kinda forget that. Wasn't all on the pass rush. Our two all-pro safeties looked pretty pedestrian on the Hill TD as well.
  3. Kumerow played 269 snaps on teams last year, Third Generation NFL Player, suspect he will be a core special teamer, and 6-4 is a nice target in the red zone. If I were a WR/Returner with a history of putting the ball on the ground; I might be a little worried with the addition of Mr. Shakir. He's also a California guy, so you know he will be happy to play catch with JA17.
  4. Is he a guy with a bit of experience that can be the "big Nickel" to match up with the likes of Kittle, Kelce, & Kyle Pitts.
  5. As an Old Timer, and with respect to the era, I would clone 11 Cookie Gilchrist's on Offense. Man amongst boys, he could also handle kicking duties, and played MLB in the CFL. When he played, he was actually bigger than most lineman. [Cookie was 6-3 251, HOF'r Billy Shaw was 6-2 258] Had 230 rushes and 30 catches in 1964, at a time where RB's weren't normally a big part of the passing game.
  6. It almost looks like Gabe got the DB with a discreet elbow to help said DB to fall down.
  7. The sad thing about Ford is there are probably teams in this league where he would start. Competent OL play in the NFL takes a rare talent.
  8. I like the speed, and the fact that he has also played safety with Hyde and Poyer north of 30 yrs old.
  9. Just saying - McBeane got real lucky with Wallace...his 52 starts are the most by an undrafted defensive back since 2011.
  10. I was at the game 12/8/63, when Cookie set the "at the time" pro football record of 243 yards rushing in a basically unplayable field in the Rockpile. I was also at "The Music City Forward Lateral" which was a great game until the last 15 seconds. Of course Mike Stratton's hit on Keith Lincoln Shutting out the Chargers on the road in 1965 The comeback against Houston The 51-3 game The stomping of the Pats last year.
  11. Unless you believe the Brady to the Fish rumors.
  12. Diggs was a known commodity and JA17 needed a legit #1 target. JJ has been great, but wonder if Diggs experience helped JA17's development.
  13. Getting to 13 would probably require winning all 8 at Home. GB scares me a lot less since Adams is gone. It will be interesting when they schedule the Titans, I could see that being a Thursday night, and probably after a tough road game. Bengals, Chiefs, and Rams will be tough on the road. Not sure how well we match up with the Ravens, and based on last two seasons, I expect there could be one stinker loss along the lines of recent Jax or Indy games. With the parity in the league of late, anything over 12 wins probably requires some good luck on the Bills part, and/or misfortune on one of the other teams.
  14. JA 17 has the highest rushing grade 93.6 of any player in PFF, including halfbacks & Wide Receivers
  15. Rashaan Gary and Maxx Crosby actually grade out higher than Watt or the Bosa's.
  16. Our two top safeties are both going to be 31 when the season starts there are only about 10 safeties in the league older than either of them, and only McCourty and Smith from the Vikings are playing near a similar level. They will hit the wall, probably best to get someone in here to learn on a rookie deal.
  17. And the cost to move up a few picks is not usually that high where the Bills are drafting. Each first round spot you move around pick 25 is basically a 5th round pick. London is a California guy like JA17. Also played guard for the Trojans, so suspect he has great quickness.
  18. Sporting news has this guy ranked 23rd, which is close to where we draft: 23. Kenyon Green, G, Texas A&M (6-4, 323 pounds) Green is a well-rounded interior blocker with solid size, strength and technique to thrive in the running game for a long time. They also have CB's McDuffie and Booth in that 21-30 range. For WR's they have: 26. Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas (6-2, 225 pounds) Burks is a huge target with reliable big hands to match. He can dominate smaller, less physical corners and has deceptive speed. and this guy 31. Drake London, WR, USC (6-4, 219 pounds) London matches his nice catch radius with great hands and quickness, which makes him a big-play and red zone threat in the Mike Evans vein.
  19. Looking at the 2022 First Team All Pro Special Teamers, Tucker - K, Cole - P, Gray - Gunner, Rhodes - LS are all UDFA. KR is Berrios 6th round #210, and PR is Duvernay 3rd Round #92. BTW the lowest drafted first team all pro is Buffalo's Jordan Poyer, who was 7th Round #218. Lowest on Offense is J. Kelce - 6th #191 This year's all-pro team has 4 1st rounders on Offense, and 6 on defense. TJ Watt and Heyward were both drafted at later 1st round positions than #25.
  20. Saffold is the 23rd highest paid guard under contract with a 2022 cap hit of 4.2 million. Wyatt Teller's cap hit in 2022 is 4.876 million. We cut Feliciano and the giants signed him for 2.9mm. Average 2022 salary for the 96 highest paid guards is $3.1MM [32 teams 3 per team]. If we lose Bates, do we make a play for Duvernay-Tardif, being close to Canada, he can do his doctoring in the off season. Pats BTW have the third highest graded guard, Onwenu playing on a rookie contract. He started as a rookie. 6th round pick
  21. I think that both Diggs and Beasley, with their experience in the league, helped Josh to understand how big a part accuracy plays in the game today. He is much better fitting the ball into very tight windows since he started throwing to those two. I think the New England game shows L'il Dirty gets this as well. Hopefully Crowder and OJ Howard get it as well.
  22. As I recall, what the Bills did with Clay was put contract language/numbers in the offer that made it impossible for Miami to match. I believe once you put the RFA tag on a player and set the level, you have to match the offered contract by the other team, including all the quirky stuff in it. The Bills are admittedly cap strapped at the moment, so that limits their options. Bates saw what kind of numbers that Wyatt Teller got paid, and since he replaced Teller on the roster, is just looking for the best for #1.
  23. Yes, but teams have been known to concoct really complex offer sheets in the past [e.g. Bills & Clay] that may preclude a team from wanting/being able to match. I'm sure Kromer was consulted by McBeane before they made the decision on what type of tender.
  24. with the subtraction of Beasley, Sanders, and Brieda, Bills have 131 catches, 193 targets [30% of total] to replace, so plenty to go around with OJ Howard, Crowder, Duke. Davis will get some, Diggs probably at saturation level. Be interested if Dorsey has Josh throw more than Daboll did. Brady threw 73 more times than Josh, but Josh had 84 more rushes
  25. Re: Diggs, when this contract is up, do we let him hit the market. Jefferson is 23, and on a rookie contract Chase is 22, on a rookie contract Lamb is 23 on a rookie contract Davis is 23 on a rookie contract Higgins is 23 on a rookie contract Waddle is 23 on a rookie contract Seeing a pattern here
