  1. A side benefit of our substandard O-line is that Knox has developed into a solid run blocker, ranked in the top 10 among TE's in that area.
  2. Reed & Lofton, with Thurmal out of the backfield, McKellar/Metzelaars, Beebe to take the top off defenses. Who do you double?
  3. PFF Mock out yesterday has the Bills taking Texas RB Bijan Robinson with the #31 pick. This board would revolt if the Bills picked a RB in Rd1.
  4. Darrisaw [Vikings] total rookie contract is 13.3MM for 4 yrs. He's 23. He is a first rounder so will get paid in year 5.
  5. Grading out as the 12th best tackle, he's already the fourth highest paid tackle, cap hit is $35MM in 2023 as it stands now. there are 4 tackles on their rookie deals [Darrisaw, Thomas, Wirfs & Sewell] who grade out higher than he does.
  6. Injury List based off of last week and game issues: Josh Allen Boogie Basham - OUT wk 16 Ryan Bates - Inj in Game AJ Epenesa LP before game Dawson Knox - Inj in Game Matt Milano LP before Game Mitch Morse - OUT wk 16 Ed Oliver - LP before Game Jordan Phillips - Inj in Game Injured Reserve Probably can return? Jamieson Crowder Jake Kumerow Christian Benford Eli Ankou Micah Hyde ? Out til 2023 Von Miller Tommy Doyle
  7. 1964 and 1965 Bills would beg to disagree. Bills won the 1965 title on the road. This old guy remembers those titles. Agreed, much harder now with so many teams in the playoffs.
  8. Right now, our cap spending (including IR) is $87MM Defense, $77MM Offense, $16MM ST Core. Edmunds is on a fifth year option in 2022 at $12.7MM. Spotrac says $14.3 is market value Josh Allen's cap hit goes up $23MM in 2023, so they will have to extend/restructure. Von and DIggs have big bumps next year as well. Ed Oliver's fifth year option in 2023 is $10.7MM Bills are #25 in terms of cap space. Our current contracts have us $4MM over the projected 2023 cap. Beane has to work a lot of magic to be sure.
  9. Our O-line play is mediocre, that takes away a lot of screen and tight end plays that can generate big YAC. McKenzie [when he can catch the ball] isn't exactly a huge YAC machine.
  10. As long as they've had the AFC, and I've lived upstate [most of my life], the CBS [AFC] stations, in the rare event they have access to a Giants game, will nearly always pick that game, even when the Giants suck. Lots of NYC folks with weekend homes upstate. Easier with the Bills on Monday night this week.
  11. On the contrary, we need CB2 and Safety depth, if Edmunds takes the Brinks truck some idiot GM offers him, then we will also need a MLB. Von won't be Von until mid season and may not ever have the explosiveness that is his MO
  12. And please let it NOT be Lee Smith
  13. Buffalo and Cinci both have DL & LB's that are probably better than the O-lines they face. Bengals have a better group of wideouts unless Davis has a game like KC last year. Josh is more mobile & creative than Burrow, but has to play a clean game, no fumbles, no hero ball throws into coverage. I think Motor & Cook [of late] vs. Mixon & Perine is a push. Teams are very evenly matched. Looks like weather is going to be benign 53 degrees light winds.
  14. Food for thought. Since 2017 when McDermott arrived [and Beane shortly after], Bills have drafted 45 players. 28 are still with the Bills. Of the 17 others, Araiza is a FA, Proehl [XFL], Vosean Joseph [CFL] - EVERY other player the Bills have drafted since 2017 is on an NFL roster [incl IR]. Wonder if any other front office has 42 of 45 drafted players from past 6 years on NFL Rosters.
  15. Highmark is 748 feet above sea level, Cinci is at 486, SoFi, which is where the LA Chargers play is 125 feet above sea level. So Cinci should have more gravity than Buffalo, but less than LA
  16. Being old, that was an iconic play. Milano's hit on Mike White reminded me of that play. Difference was Lincoln was arguably the BEST offensive player on the Bolts and possibly in the league. If you notice it was a form tackle below the shoulders, and his helmet was under Lincoln's arm. But given today's referee situation, a flag could well be thrown. If they have time to review plays for ejections, they should have time to review borderline UR calls that can be game changing.
  17. Bills have played the 9th toughest schedule, Bengals the 7th toughest. They have 10 common opponents, [incl division 2 fers]. Bills have a +70 point differential, but 68 of those points are from the blowouts vs. the Steelers and Titans. Teams are pretty evenly matched.
  18. Herbert may have a great arm, but his pocket awareness and escape instincts are nowhere near JA17's
  19. Is Cook a better option than L'il Dirty in the slot? Cook is bigger and just as fast.
  20. Stayed home under a state of emergency, took a shower at halftime to wash the first half stink off me.
  21. Here's the 4 key 2023 FA's Edmunds - Cap Hit, 12.7 MM - Mkt Value 14.3 [but someone will overpay] Poyer - Cap Hit 10.8M - Mkt Value 11.0 [Is Rachel done with Buffalo winters] Motor - Cap Hit 2.8M - Mkt Value 5.9 Saffold [haha] Cap Hit - 4.2M - Mkt Value 5.4 [$2.0 MM dead cap in 2023] Also coming up Davis [2024 fa] - Cap Hit 1.1M - Mkt Value 13.5 [again someone will overpay] Oliver [2024 fa] - Cap Hit 10.7 [5th Yr] - Mkt Value 12.5 Some food for thought here.
  22. Except that Cousineau was a middle linebacker, not a quarterback. His rights, traded to the Browns for picks including a first rounder, eventually yielded a quarterback named Jim Kelly.
  23. Jim Ringo is in the Hall of Fame, but as a coach was below the Mendoza line 3-20 record. Make that a 50 burger
  24. Watching Denver vs. the Rams, absolutely NO chance that KC loses to them. Rams are without a ton of weapons and still hanging a 40 burger on the ponies.
  25. After this, I looked ahead to Cinci, who supposedly has great receivers. In terms of speed at skilled positions, Bills actually grade out a bit better than Bengals. Chase is the fastest at 4.38, McKenzie is our fastest at 4.42. Cook 4.42 is faster than Mixon 4.45, Knox 4.59 is faster than Hurst 4.67, Diggs 4.46 is faster than Boyd 4.52 and Davis and Higgins are a push at 4.54.
