Trade deadline needs what are your priorities
BearNorth replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Klein has always been tagged as good against the run. Is this a down and distance spot for him, esp with Mixon? -
Week 8 - Around the NFL (i.e. NOT a Bills thread please)

Injury list from yesterday around the league is pretty long and impactful. Suspect there will be a lotta movement today and tomorrow. -

Yes, but they have a win in hand vs. Buf so second game becomes a must win for Bills. -
Guess I'm greedy, but truthfully we are a couple of plays from being 8-0, but also a couple of plays from being 3-5. Jets - Josh 2 underthrown passes int in Jets end zone Jags - Daquan and Milano Injured, Defense gives up 35 yard run to Etienne. Pats - Take the lead with 1:58 left, give up a 75 yard drive to one of the league's worst offenses, Gash run by Stevenson made entire drive plausible. smh

I was 11 in 1959, huge sports fan at the time. Was a big Cleveland Browns/Jim Brown fan, as my uncle had been at Syracuse with him. Quickly transferred my loyalties to my hometown team, where they have remained ever since - through thick and thin. Beatles wrote a song about "When I'm 64".

Would you be for "Eye in the Sky" officiating?
BearNorth replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some of the problems would never be solved by eye in the sky. For example, bad spots - "just give it too 'em" or the Murray run vs. Tampa that should been inches, but was a full yard & half short after the spot. As we all know from our phones, there is locator technology that's pretty accurate, but not sure if it's accurate to the inch level. -
Tampa's LT is Wirfs, one of the top tackles in the league. Probably wanted to let someone other than Von get beat up.
-
Five wide means fewer people in the box, and opens up Josh's running ability.
-
I notice that Rapp played a lot. Wondering with the Bengals trio we are facing if we will see a lot more dime, or do we have to stick with 2 LB's because of Mixon.
-
I am really curious about our DL rotation. Von is working his way back, but Epenesa and Rousseau need to get more snaps at the expense of the likes of Floyd and Lawson. I know we lost Daquan, but Phillips is hot garbage to begin with before even the dumb decisions. I think it's affecting Oliver's play as well. Before the trade deadline can Beane & Co. see if there is a 1T available for a reasonable price that can clog the middle. Tired of mediocre RB's gashing us for first downs. Mixon is not a mediocre running back.

The penalty pushed them back so far that the onside kick would have put Buffalo in easy FG range.

Jim and Pat said today, that Suh will pick where he wants to play. Already has 2 rings doing that.

10/26/23 Week #8 TNF GAMEDAY Bills vs Buccaneers Pregame Thread
BearNorth replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would be nice if Phillips and Settle decided to up their game tonight. Wirfs is going to give our DE's a tussle -
If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now
BearNorth replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jets game - Josh 3 picks and a fumbled snap. Jags game - Defense gashed by Etienne after losing Jones and Milano on the lousy field surface Patriots game - McDermott's defense let the #25 ranked offense drive the length of the field for a TD in 1:46 of clock time. -
Let someone else pay Gabe Morse is older than the top 10 centers not named Kelce. Not sure what Bates' contract status is, think we need to use him or sayonara Agree on DT, and Ed O. is a smallish interior DL, already beat up after 6 games Have we given up on AJE at DE? Again Hyde and Poyer are the 5th and 6th oldest safeties in the league and are no longer top of the class Def need one or two better LB's; shudder if we have to play Klein for more than a snap or two. State of O-line play coming out of college is abysmal, and the Teller fiasco says front office doesn't have a clue what good is. Glad we have so much draft capital, hope Beane and Co use it wisely.

Bring back the K-Gun and the hurry up offense
BearNorth replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the O-Line we had for the K-Gun was much better than we have today. LT Will Wolford LG Jim Ritcher C Kent Hull RG John Davis RT Howard Ballard We don't have anyone who can force the defense to keep a safety deep like they had to for Beebe. Thurman was also a complete back, run, catch, block. Josh's mobility has been clamped down by the current regime. -
Has NFL Given Any Explanation Why Flag Was Picked Up?
BearNorth replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
You are correct. I was in HS, and remember the big buzz about this amazing kicker from Cornell who was a soccer player. I live in the North Country and apparently he and his family were refugees from Hungary and his father was a medical doctor at the state hospital in Ogdensburg. Since he kicked at Cornell, he might be the first in D-I as well. I did find this tho - https://ampoleagle.com/bednarski-preceded-gogolak-in-soccerstyle-kicking-p8059-208.htm. Apparently Texas had a soccer style kicker in 1957. -
Dawkins and McGovern will have to strap it up facing Barrett and Vea. Their SS is not great so Kincaid may be able to operate. They have a sub playing at LDT so hopefully Torrence can handle him and establish the running game. I actually think with Knox hurt, the passing game gets better with the Shakir/Harty/Sherfield committee in the slot.
