  1. Cinci this season is the current shining example of investing nearly all your assets on the offensive side of the ball, and guess what happens - you have great offensive stats but have trouble winning games. Cinci has not beaten a single team in the top 20, their wins have all come against the bottom 1/3 of the league.
  2. Cottrell was Wade's DC, so I think the '99 Bills defense had a two headed brain trust. If not for the special teams blunder in Nashville, I really think they could have gone to the SB, and might have even won it. That was a great defense
  3. It took 5 Buffalo penalties on their last drive to get them into the end zone. Bills were playing Elam, Bishop, Lewis, Ingram, D. Williams in the back 7 [which wasn't exactly staffed with All-pros as starters].
  4. He has a head coach who stresses defense and lives and dies with zone principles. They used a precious first round pick on a CB with great measurables, but no experience in a zone system. Then said head coach won't play the guy because he has no zone experience. Circular firing squad in 1,2.....
  5. Assuming we win Sunday. 4 losses clinches the 2 seed, 5 means we lose the tie breaker with the Dirty Birds, as they have the Browns week 18.
  6. I think worthy benefitted from Hollywood being out, and that inflated his numbers a bit.
  7. But will the baseball caps have the ear flaps?
  8. Merry Christmas from the North Country, Go Bills!
  9. Anyone notice that Susie Wiles, The Incoming White House Chief of Staff is Pat Summerall's daughter?
  10. Last drive by Pats - Bills were flagged for 5 penalties, 4 giving a new set of downs, 2 DPI on Elam in the End Zone, One on Ingram, Helmet to Helmet hit on Bernard, and encroachment on Smoot. 25 of 75 yards and 2 DPI's on 3rd & goal.
  11. That's correct, he's on his rookie contract with a cap hit of 1.149 M next season. Douglas at age 30 is approaching end of useful life for a top cover corner, and the Bills won't pay him, with the much younger Benford under contract.
  12. Been around since the beginning of the AFL Bills QB: Josh Allen RB: Thurman Thomas WR: Andre Reed OT: Dion Dawkins G: Billy Shaw [Until someone else makes the HOF] C : Kent Hull DE: Bruce DT: Kyle Williams [Sestak with an *] OLB: Mike Stratton MLB: Cornelius Bennett CB: Butch Byrd FS/SS: George Saimes P: Brian Moorman K - Steve Christie KR: Terrence McGee Head Coach: Marv Levy
  13. I was reading a site today that ranked the available free agent safeties who are available in 2025, Hamlin was in the top 10 of available safeties, so similar to Mr. Dodson, he will get paid by someone, even if us Bills fans think he's a mediocre player.
  14. We need better linebackers and more depth. Not going to stop Derrick Henry or Saquon Barkley with what we have. Taron may be nearing end of useful life as a cover corner, same with Douglas. Douglas (29) is the 15th oldest CB that's graded of 118. Taron (28) is 24th. Average age of the top 10 graded CB's is 25.3 yrs old. CB becoming a young mans game 6 of top 10 corners are 24 or younger. Too bad we spent a high pick on Elam for someone who doesn't fit McD's system.
  15. So I wasn't the only person confusing the two teams the whole game.
  16. Noticing that T. Bernard is ranked [75/84] near the bottom of LB's. Is this a recent fall-off, or a steady decline? I know his run-stuffing hasn't been world class, but didn't think he had sunk that low.
  17. Also saw that Sauce Gardner & Tony Adams went out and did not return. Long season tough on these smaller DB's.
  18. or cornerback injuries for that matter, and Taron took another ding yesterday and Douglas has missed 2 games.
  19. By resting I meant - Hamlin, Rapp, Douglas, and Milano were all inactive yesterday. If we hadn't already clinched division and were playing someone other than the 3-11 Pats at home, would any of those guys have played?
  20. Am I the only one a bit worried that with most of our starting DB's & LB's nicked up or worse, that resting them will lead us to another sputtering first half like we saw yesterday in the first round of the playoffs? Remembering how horrible we looked in the first half vs. the Cards after a similar amount of downtime.
  21. Admittedly it was against the Pats who are a bottom 5 team, but I had a feeling every time James Cook touched the ball, that he was on the verge or breaking off a long play.
  22. I think Josh would rather take off and run than get sacked. Inflict punishment rather than taking it. So far this season 13 sacks lost 61 yards; 91 rushes 484 yards, 45 first downs.
  23. Any regrets after watching Worthy today?
  24. Nico Collins may be the best receiver in the AFC.
