  1. Thanks for the comments all. Sorry if it sounded like a stupid question but it was posted on Friday when it wasn't clear how bad it was going to be. The Orlando airport is closing at 5 pm today until noon on Monday so it's a done deal anyway. To answer "why fly to Orlando and drive to Jacksonville?".. It's a sad reality of flying out of Halifax, NS. To fly to Orlando from here costs less than half the fare of going to Jacksonville unless you hook into some good seat sale. Either way we have to fly to Newark and then connect to anywhere else we might be going. Anyhoo, thanks for the help.
  2. Hi all, I have some colleagues that are flying to Orlando on Sunday and driving to Jacksonville (on business) and they are freaking about what to do because of the hurricane warning. I've been telling them to reschedule, but for some reason they feel obligated to go because this has been scheduled for months. They don't travel much so I'm kind of worried about them. I'm not their boss so I can't make the call but I'd love to be able to point them in the right direction for info either way.. Any ideas?
  3. Thanks Campy. By the way. I'm not affiliated with Democrats or Republicans. I'm proudly Canadian and wish there was an easy way out of this hairball for all of us. It's not looking good for the next little while regardless of who gets elected. I also wish we could punch a few more in while in the red zone. Go Bills.
  4. Terror is a tactic. A war against a tactic is like a war against raindrops. They crop up all over and there's little you can do about it unless you understand the tactics and resolve the core issues. The videos and coverage are having the desired effect for those that create them. Even though they are posted on the crazies' websites I'd be in favour of a total mainstream media ban on feeding the flames. It does nothing but create fear in Joe Public's mind and hence meets the objectives of the militants. Don't give them the satisfaction. On a related note, if I'm a contractor in Iraq (or the middle east for that matter) I'm pretty much a ready target. It's not a secure area and probably won't be in our lifetime. Kind of like climbing Everest. I have a choice. If I go, I might die. I feel badly for their families but I'm not shocked they are getting picked off.
  5. Hi there, My sister has a Saturn (not the same model) and is in love with it. Great gas mileage and very good service from the dealership. The only concern she had was that it has been broken into twice. Apparently they are on "the list" for cars that get their stereos stolen. Otherwise great for what she uses it for. I find it a bit sluggish but then again I'm sort of spoiled. She's happy, the car is about to be paid for and it's probably good for another 5+ years...
  6. I keep changing the channel but every time I get back there it's the same thing.. Big fat Brady love-in. Please make it stop! (Clinging to the coolness of the toilet bowl).
