The D line were monsters at the start of the year because the secondary was able to give them that extra half second to get home with lockdown coverage.

Are you trying to play devil's advocate here? If Lewis bats the ball down the game is over. The Vikings were out of time outs and the Bills run out the clock. If that ball is not completed the Bills win, plain and simple. It cost them the game. Edit: My mistake, the Vikings had 1 time out, but the point still stands. If the Bills gain a first down the game is over, and if they don't they're punting with seconds left on the clock. Regardless, the degree to which you are trying to overlook the gravity of Lewis's mistake is puzzling to me. Edit #2: The ball is at the Vikings' 25 yd line. If the Bills don't get a 1st to ice the game they're already in FG range. I stand by my assessment that if Lewis makes the smart play the game is over.

The Bills lost yesterday because… (karma reasons only)

Not this week. This week it's all on them. -
I don't know what play you were watching or what you think you saw, but he had every opportunity to knock the ball down and was in the perfect position to do it. The only reason Jefferson was even able to make that catch was because of the way Lewis played it going for the INT. Lewis even lamented that he DIDN'T try to bat the ball down after the fact. It was 4th down. Even if it wouldn't have ended the game, which it would have, why the hell would you try to intercept it anyway. In the best case scenario he catches it and it costs the team 30 yards in field position. It's an inexcusable mistake in the best of circumstances, and yesterday it cost them the game.

You got me. There's an "explanation". Maybe I should have said, under the circumstances, the decision to go for the INT was indefensible. It was the single most boneheaded play in a game full of them, in my opinion, and it cost them the game. If the ball falls to the turf, as it should have, the game was over. It showed a total lack of situational awareness.

A Few Thoughts about the Vikings game, in no particular order

I was beside myself when Lewis tried to intercept it instead of knocking it down. I didn't hear the post-game pressors, but the fact that McDermott actually said that is even more infuriating. I've not been a huge critic of his, but his teams are the worst prepared team in the league in critical moments and this falls squarely on his head. -
If Cam Lewis plays smart situational football and knocks the ball to the ground instead of inexplicably going for the INT on FOURTH and forever the game is over. How that wasn’t drilled into their heads in that situation is beyond me. If the ball that he got a hand on first is simply batted down it’s a Bills win.

It's too funny that Kylie Murray is cropped with the head just barely in the picture, like standing on tiptoes just to be seen. -

How am I like a period? And are we talking menses or punctuation? I want to make sure to calibrate my indignation appropriately -

I had work to do... and c'mon, it was only the Jets... so I pulled up the game on my computer screen and only half paid attention I was wearing my customary Kyle Williams jersey and nasty red Bills hat, neither of which had been washed since being purged of ill humors after the Dolphins game, so I thought that would be enough By the time I fully realized the Bills were gonna blow it if I didn't pay more attention it was too late I turned on the big screen after the start of the 4th and proceeded to crank up my dog's PTSD, but too no avail The loss was clearly all my fault... I take no responsibility for Josh's elbow, however, that's on the OL -

It was obvious after last season that our #1 defensive ranking was a mirage so he COMPLETELY OVERHAULED THE DL IN AN OFFSEASON!!! -
This dysfunctional TBD family definitely reminds me of home and the family I still have in the Buffalo area. It has served as a touchstone for me as well during challenging times. Glad to hear you’re on the other side and are in a good place… ya prick. 🤣

1 carry for 68 yds and a TD 3 receptions for 15 yds, no TDs 1 KR (without Hall, Jets won't score, so it's the only one of the game) for 37 yds 2 PR (Shakir getting most of the work), 0 yds 2 fair catch 1 sick gymnast vaulting flippy-do thing to celebrate the TD -
He should cover over the football with a magnum of Jack Daniels.

Mine is an homage to accepting impermanence. At the time I joined, I had lurked off and on in chunks of time for several years. I was in the process of moving to a city where I had no ties for the third time in 4 years and would be leaving some close friends who had become family in the process. I was also in a strained marriage that I think I subconsciously recognized would ultimately fail. I was experiencing an overwhelming feeling of transience the day I finally signed up, just 2 weeks before the move; not a positive or negative feeling, just an acceptance of the fact that life is everchanging, in my case a fact that is compounded by my tendency toward boredom and, at least from a career sense, a tendency to look toward greener pastures. Now 13 years on from that day, my life is fundamentally the same. Among other things, I've moved another 4 times and am gearing up for a move to ATL in the next several months. My pattern of activity followed by stretches of radio-silence on TBD has continued. Fortunately, the relationship part is not in flux. I've found someone that seems to be as up for a new adventure as I am this time around, even if she is a Who Dat. Cheers!

Hmmm, this thread actually seems to run strangely parallel to the incident in question... trying to stir outrage over a perceived slight that was actually pretty tame in actuality. @smuvtalker, you, sir, are a message board flopper!!

Funny, just a few hours ago you were pointing out that we needed safety depth... Did you post "Yay! Can he play safety?!!?" in the thread on Hines, the RB that can probably also play WR?
