Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
transient replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wasn’t arguing for Hopkins, I was arguing against your assessment that that I bolded and italicized, that Davis is fine as a WR2. Hopkins would have been a nice addition as a WR2, but not at anywhere near what the Titans gave him. IMO giving a 31 yo DHop that contract just compounds the mistake they made in getting rid of AJ Brown. -

Year 3, actually. Allen started 2018, Diggs first year in Buffalo was 2020. I don't think the mistake was in the WR corp in 2018, though, I think it was in the QB room. They were undergoing a roster makeover. Allen's first season as a Bill was not supposed to be his first season starting, but for the mess that was AJ McCarron and Nate Peterman forcing him into action, when he truly did have no one to throw to. 2019 he had John Brown and Cole Beasely, so I would hardly say he was "without anything even resembling a competent WR" as @Billl states, though he may have been soley referencing 2018. -

Horseshoe up their ass in 2022 aside, I'm not sure that I'd call Kirk "You like that!!!... definition of stat padding" Cousins as your QB a good situation. They're a mediocre to borderline good team that will never get over the hump with him under center. -

Beane's reported attempt to get one of the first round WRs in this year's draft, his ultimate selection of Kinkaid, his interest in DHop and OBJ, and Davis's play on the field last season when defenses adjusted to him combined with Digg's frustration in the offense at the end of the season would suggest otherwise... -

If it wasn’t gonna be Buffalo, this probably has the least impact on the Bills (and the rest of the league). Have fun spending the balance of your career toiling henceforth in mediocrity, Nuke. At this point in your career, AJ Brown you ain’t. -
Josh Allen is the most durable starting NFL QB

Newton was also brutalized in the pocket when he wasn’t running. NFL officiating is almost as much to blame for his physical demise as is his style of play. -

Let me get this straight, the Pegulas bought Johns Hopkins University so they could add an apostrophe?!?! But… why? -
Not taking anything away from Hyde, that was an amazingly athletic play on his part, but it was far from a perfect pass. If you watch the pylon view at the end, it's behind Aghalor and because of Jone's barely NFL caliber arm he's got to put a ton of air under it so it takes forever to get to the WR. A perfectly thrown pass would have been out in front of Aghalor without the loft on it and Hyde would have had no shot at it.

Woodward and Bernstein… just as hard hitting… and nearly as old

Thad Brown the first to be offended by Josh

How about Ritchie Incognito… or maybe they have already and we just didn’t know it… 🤔🤷♂️

Well I know you weren’t Kenickie or Sandy, cuz they’re no longer with us… Frenchy?!?!

Reverence is reserved for divinity or something extraordinary… there was nothing out of ordinary about Taylor. He was perfectly average at the end of the day.

Context is key. If this is the season opener against the Broncos following the SB, then Trevor Simian throws an INT to end this drive… might even be on this play. It’s not the SB, because Carolina never had a 7-0 lead. A still photo of how their defense lines up without seeing how the play unfolds is hardly a “gotcha” moment. Sorry.

Word on the street is what really bumps your cred is to prodigiously ascend to heights others could only dream of and then drop little tone-deaf nuggets of poop on the loathsome mortals scurrying around on the ground in an effort to convince yourself that you are NOT a joke. Bonus points if you can incorporate a tired little flow chart and use it ad nauseum because it really makes you feel clever.

I would argue that one-on-one interaction and who people choose to surround themselves with is an apples to oranges comparison of TBD, and the world at large. My main point was any open forum, regardless of platform, involving people of differing viewpoints, different demographics, and different backgrounds has a high probability of devolving into a morass of questionable utility in 2023.

Honestly, do you find life outside of TBD to be so much different nowadays? I think this is a sports forum reflection of the world we live in in 2023.

It’ll be like a less roster efficient version of the Cam Newton years, an aging RB and a QB with a dead arm, only Mac Jones will take up an extra roster spot instead of combining them all in one.
