  1. I agree, a long career should not equate to a HOF career. But wait until Frank Gore gets eligible. He was never close to being the best back in the NFL for any season, but he kept on chugging along, and now is among the career leaders. The lazy voters will look at stats, not capability or impact.
  2. My favorite combination.
  3. They're both great athletes, but neither one is particularly fast or strong. They are fast and strong ENOUGH to be the glue that holds together the top defense in the league. The reason is, I believe, their intelligence and their integrity. And their experience. But, the Pro Bowl votes for DBs go for INTs, just like Pro Bowl votes for defensive line and LBs go for sacks. Contributions toward "Best Defense" don't count.
  4. The Pats are a good, B+ team. The Bills are an A team. Belichick deserves credit, not praise, for pulling together a team that's as good as it is, including a long win streak with a rookie QB who lacks an above-average arm. I think the Pats ran out of patsies and now have to play tough competition.
  5. I think I saw that Spencer Brown played LT against the Pats, as he did against the Panthers. The difference is against the Pats we never heard his name called. If huge Spencer Brown can play LT, then huger Faalele can play RT. I'll bet a nickel that means Singletary suddenly becomes one of the best RBs in the league.
  6. He wasn't required to sign with the Jags. He chose to take that opportunity. And I don't blame him, actually -- what player wouldn't want to get onto an active roster, with the huge pay increase, and the opportunity to compete somewhere else for a starting job? NFL careers are short, and no one wants to languish in PS obscurity until they age out of being good players.
  7. A better comparison is the Bills' opening day loss to Pittsburgh.
  8. The Colts are the only team to really beat the Bills decisively.
  9. The AFCN is a complete jumble this year. Very unpredictable. All the teams are very inconsistent. I hope the Bills' euphoria over the Pats win doesn't prevent them from preparing properly for Atlanta. They don't play the Falcons often but they usually struggle when they do.
  10. The Pats WRs aren't any good to begin with, and then they lost Agholor and also Bourne wasn't 100%. The Bills covered Myers as well as possible and took away the TEs. Poor Little Mac (the opposite of a Big Mac) had nowhere to go for a safe throw. This doesn't diminish the impact of the Bills' win. Every team has players out, the Bills no exception. It is the deepest, most complete teams that can continue to play well despite the loss of some of the best players.
  11. Isn't it about time for Jonathan Taylor to get a positive covid test?
  12. The Bills are in, ABC. All But Covid. I think that's the only thing standing between now and the AFCE.
  13. Any injuries today that could affect the next two weeks? Other than Boettger.
  14. He's a GM. Game manager. Not able to put a team on his back.
  15. Bills win out, 11-6. Chiefs lose today and either at Cinci or at Denver (all possible) and the Bills are in play for the top seed.
  16. Mach nichts. Take the INT and let victory formation take over.
  17. I think that was sarcasm. I'm not sure Hodgins was even on the field.
  18. Pats fans fleeing the stadium with two minutes left. Ahhhh.
  19. Every time they show a closeup of Mac Jones I swear I'm looking at the Tin Woodsman in a helmet.
  20. Anyone celebrating a win already hasn't suffered through the past 30 years. Chill.
  21. At the time, Allen was a huge risk. Darnold (and the other Josh) both looked to be NFL-ready while Allen clearly wasn't. Cleveland had fallen in love with Mayfield for whatever reason. It's a good think for all concerned that Allen came to the small-market, used-to-failure Bills. He could struggle his rookie year and no one fussed much. He had time to get his mechanics right while McBeane built the team around his arm. If Allen had gone to the Jets, he would have been ridden out of town on a rail. If Allen HADN'T spent so much time and effort during the offseason fixing his game, he'd be gone from the Bills. But that wasn't the Josh that McBeane drafted, knowing what kind of man they had. He is not only relentlessly competitive, he's also relentlessly dedicated to improvement.
  22. It's hard to say whether the Browns today or the Bills against the Bucs got hosed worse. Both of them deserved to accomplish big comeback wins against a glamour team.
  23. Thanks. There's no reason not to say that out loud as long as you do it correctly.
