  1. I sure hope not.
  2. If you really think Frazier is coming back, then this is a problem. I think he got tired of being passed over for HC jobs and was just heartsick. But he's at an age where retirement feels really good, and where HC job offers aren't flooding his inbox. A good DC who wants to grab the job and keep it could keep Frazier retired.
  3. The Texans trade with Miami to get Tunsil was the beginning of the Texans' collapse. They gave up waaaay too much. The Dolphins used the picks and drafted well, making them the clear threat to the Bills for the AFCE. But the Texans just lost their way. Remember it was the Texans that beat the Bills in the playoffs just a few years ago. Since then they've shed Watson and Hopkins for nuthin'.
  4. Jackson is a great player, and it would be a big loss to all of us fans if he decamped to the broadcast booth. He's one of the most talented offensive players in the NFL. He's a very good passer and a great runner. Do you really think he's going to toss away the chance to keep playing a game he loves?
  5. Are the Pats going to try him out at QB?
  6. I suspect the reason Frazier left (yeah, he's coming back next year, sure, hahaha) is that he knew Edmunds was leaving. Frazier put together a very good regular season D, and Edmunds was a big part of it. Replacing Edmunds with a normal-sized, normal-speed LB is probably not happening, and Frazier didn't want to have to re-do his entire D with someone less athletic.
  7. Considering the diva-ness of today's NFL players, it's not surprising that Waller would want to be traded. Probably Josh's announcement put a crimp in Waller's dating. What's surprising is that the Raiders didn't try to get more value. I can see the Bills giving up a third for him -- he's a true weapon and could be used alongside Knox, Diggs, and whoever WR2 turns out to be.
  8. Predictable move. Good move. This is what normally happens when a very good team wants to keep as many of its parts together as possible.
  9. Aside from all the rest of the post, which has some good points, this one stuck out. We have no idea how well Crowder would have / might still work out. He broke his ankle and was lost for almost all of the season. He was good in New Jersey and could be the right fit for the Bills.
  10. With the Panthers now a little light on draft picks, maybe they'll be interested in shopping some established player for a mid-rounder. Do they have any O linemen worth a look?
  11. Nonsense. Davis has had plenty of opportunities to develop. The Bills are not the reason Davis couldn't stop dropping passes. I wish I knew what IS the reason but at this point it's time to upgrade the WR room, in case last year was the real Gabe Davis coming to ligjt.
  12. No chance the Bills go after Henry, unless they're planning to convert him to LB or another defense position.
  13. I think Frazier was just personally disappointed he didn't get a nibble for any of the vacant HC jobs, after the statistically great performance of his defense over a period of several years. And I think he was professionally embarrassed by the lousy performance of his defense over in the playoff losses the last four years.
  14. After the Bills lost to the Titans in the 1999 playoffs (the illegal forward pass leading to the Music City Miracle), the cap-strapped Bills cut Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, and Thurman Thomas. Smith and Reed went to Washington, but Thomas, in full snit, signed with the Dolphins. He just wanted to stick it to the Bills front office, not really hurt the Bills or their fans. After a year, when everyone realized Thomas was finished, he retired and moved back to WNY, where he's loved and respected, and his Dolphin episode is forgiven if not forgotten. Poyer knows what buttons to push to try to get the Bills to give him a rich, long-term contract. I don't think it will work. But if he does sign elsewhere and then later on decides to move to WNY, I'm sure he'd be welcome. Not that that's likely for a glamour couple like Poyer and Bush.
  15. Maybe he just wants to sit in the shade during the early season scorchers.
  16. I was replying to a post that said OJ never made the playoffs. I agree 75 and 73 were better years than 74.
  17. Glad to hear your ass was OK. How was your head? A good move if you have the time is to slap the ground with both arms as your body reaches the ground. That absorbs some of the energy of the impact. One of the videos someone attached to a post in this thread shows the person doing that.
  18. The Bills did make the playoffs in 1974. This was OJ's only playoff game in his career. They lost to the Steelers. OJ was not on the field when the opponents had the ball, so he wasn't responsible for the defense's struggles. Hasek was on the ice the entire game so he was in position to dominate, which he did. You just can't compare them based on the team results. Hasek was great, no doubt, but I put OJ's 1975 season on top of the list.
  19. Thanks for mentioning the 75 season, which in many ways was even better than the big record in 73. People who didn't get to see OJ play have no idea how great he was. No one ever glided through a defense like he did. It was simply beautiful to see.
  20. If the cap is not a real cap, then all the talk about being over the cap is just a way to negotiate with players? "Sorry, Jordan, we realize you want your big payday, but we're gazillions over the cap. The fact that you're starting to get hurt a lot, just like most players your age who are ready to slide down the hill, never crossed our minds. Gosh, we're sorry."
  21. Rodgers is a drama queen, self-centered, egotistical -- I'll go along with all of that. But the Packers roster overall is very weak, with a lot of holes. They managed to win this year because of Rodgers, not in spite of him. They probably should dump him this year, accept the losing that will happen, and let Love play to see if he's got the talent to ride the wave back up. As for where Rodgers might end up next year, it would be ironic if he goes to the Raiders and reunites with Davante Adams.
  22. Bruce Smith in HIS prime.
  23. Let the division winners in regardless of record, but seed all the teams based on record. No automatic top-4 seed for a division winner.
  24. McBeane have built one of the best regular-season teams in the NFL. They should routinely rack up 10-12 win seasons, and go x-1 in the playoffs. x being 0 or 1 or 2 I don't see them going x-0 The Bills have a system and they stick to it. It's too predictable for the coordinators on good teams not to be able to figure out ways to attack it.
  25. There's no reason to replace Brady, unless it's that Dorsey doesn't feel secure as the OC and doesn't want a likely replacement on his staff. Brady is an experienced OC and probably would bring more innovation and creativity to the position than Dorsey knows how to do.
