I have had that defining moment about Edwards being finished about 48 times! I remember so many games in the elements rain, snow, hail, fog, cold, dreary, whatever..too sunny, too shady, too loud, too quiet, and through each Edwards almost always completely sucked lemons!! He throws too short, too long, to wrong receiver, often to the wrong team!! I will be so ready to hear that he has been released or traded whenever that day comes?? He's a bore, his responses are dry and repetitive and I am so tired of hearing him say after a really lousy game in every aspect of his performance, that he'll have to watch the tape and evaluate what went wrong!!! I'd even take Loserman over Edwards if it were down to two...and thank God it probably won't be that bleak! So I empahatically DISAGREE in every conceivable way!!!

Bills Players Draft Trade Values

The Bills knew when to get rid of Travis Henry so don't be surprised if he isn't unloaded this offseason !!!!!!!!!!! -
Bills Players Draft Trade Values
tonyjustbcuz replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good I agree...that is precisely how I voted!! Lynch should be traded or let go..his a non effective gangster punk so far that brings a team down and right now we'd probably only get a 4th round pick for him ! It's a shame because I think that he has the ability to be an excellent running back, but for some reason he seems to want to impress people with how tough and cool he is. I know someone well that was at a medical center and he walked in to meet D. Whitner during the season when D. Whitner was bragging that he was cleared to play...and Lynch was the only one that was loud and obnoxious...just craving attention and making a big scene. I'll take a 4th for Lynch too, but he's wasting his god given talent to be known as a criminal and a hood rather than the superb, and powerful back that he could be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I am more tired of T.Edwards than I was with Lossman ! I want T. Edwards somewhere else or another leaugue next year..anywhere but here...he has Jauron funk on the brain !!!!!!!! and that funk is the junk we need to discard! I know Fitzy isn't the answer as a starter but I found him more impressive than T. Edwards. Whatever poll your referring to make sure you put me down for anyone in the leaugue to be a starter as long as it's not T. Edwards ! He wore out his welcome ! I guess he could always go back and review the tape again with Jauron and get back to you on his assesment!

I didn't read your whole post because I started to fall asleep!! Too darn long to begin with!! Yikes...anyways, Lee Evans is responsible at all for the ineptitude play of the offensive line and quarterbacks over the past several season so I think it would be foolish now that we may take those positons more seriously. Isn't Brandon Marshall prone to get in trouble with his team and criminal mischief as well??? Why would we want another thug on the team??? Don't understand the reasoning here when Lee Evans is low key and a good team player!! Get rid of Marshawn Lynch who some people actually think has star potential...get what you can for him...he's a thug!!!!!!! He brings a team down too!! Maybe Denver would want Lynch seeing that they took the RB druggie guy we had...Travis Henry!!! Oh well what a dumb post to read partially..and I will have to skip yours in the near future until you make more sense!

draft options getting clearer
tonyjustbcuz replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Because you said so?? Isn't that a bit arrogant in itself to dictate what they HAVE to do?? What if they stay put and pick another player as good as Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, or Andre Reed? Why it's only been done hundreds of times. Anyways, you nor I have a say in the matter anyways and it's kind of arrogant to think we do. Unless you have millions of dollars wrapped up in this how do you really know what the Bills should or could do for that matter? Yeah, it's fun to speculate, but even if we got a Bradfor who say's that we'll ante up the money to re sign him prior to him hitting the free agent market. All the Bills do is groom players especially Cornerbacks for other teams. -

Report: Bills one of 3 going for McNabb
tonyjustbcuz replied to shaker4187's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points! The only thing I worry about is when we finally get a decent offensive line together is that some of the players may be close to becoming a free agent. We have lost so many players to free agency..just off the top of my head: Nate Clements, Jabari Greer, Sam Cowhart, Pat Williams, and many more not to mention Jason Peters! I think this organization has to show more committment when it comes to "keeping" their players in our uniform when it comes time to re-sign! If not, you'll see Fred Jackson, Lee Evans and several others eventually hitting the open market..although L. Evans may be locked up with his contract extension for several years?? I don't know the answer at QB, but I don't want to give up much or get into a bidding war and lose draft picks to get a soon to be has been QB that don't have the tools around him to offer him an opportunity for success. As I'm analyzing things I think you have to spend another 1-3 round player for L OT and also for DT. You can take a chance on a clipboard holder QB in there somewhere as well but keep upgrading your lines for future success! Yeah, we need a OLB & WR probably as well and to also build depth at key positions. If it were me I'd take: round #1 OT #2 DT or NT #3 OT #4 OT #5 OLB #6 QB #6 WR #7 QB #7 WR -
Honestly, what is everyone expecting for 2011?
tonyjustbcuz replied to SawchukBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are way to many "If's" to really give this thread much consideration so I will be more brief than normal! The Bills have to first make sure they have their staff set before moving on. They have to formulate a plan for the draft and seeing that D. Whaley just got here from Pittsburgh they have a way's to go on that front. Then they have to draft and do better than they have in over a decade if they want to make an impact, they also have to find a QB in either FA or the Draft, but I think they need to use both sources and find two! They need to dump T. Edwards for far too many reasons than I feel like explaining tonight. Then they have to decide if they want to keep Brohm or Fitzy for their number # 2 or #3 spot. They need to get a OT high in the draft for the left side or find a quality FA if there are any available. They desperately need to find or draft a space eating DT or NT. They need another LB, and probably a WR. They have a few other needs and need to get more depth in several positions as well. The Bills need a hard nosed approach to training camp! No soft days, No taking off on Fridays! They need to practice a lot more outside in the elements during the season. They need to stop woosing out on the coin toss and take the ball when they win the toss...It's part of being aggressive not passive..."You play to win the game"... I believe they may have to dump Marshawn Lynch and if Roscoe Parrish wants to be elsewhere send him packing...I didn't have too much problem (yet) with T.O. but a few less drops and better effort when the pass isn't pretty would be appreciated when your the " six million dollar man" ! Well this is short for me...and if the Bills do most of these things I can see 8 - 8 record next season...but it is way too early to prognosticate the future. Go Bills !!! -
Who do you want to start at QB in 2010?
tonyjustbcuz replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Geez...hmmm I'd like to say none of the above...I picked Clausen...by default..but I really only seen him play once or twice...I am not sure how S. Bradford is healing from his healing so I passed him up. I'm not impressed by anyone on our roster. D. Mcnabb won't be available...don't really want M. Vick! He hasn't played more than a handful of plays in 3 or so years. Thighpen had a short duration that he was doing well a couple of years ago..but not much lately. Brohm is unable to grasp the playbook, T. Edwards is unable to execute the playbook, and Fitzspatrick looks like he might have ate the playbook! I guess if this is all I have to choose from it goes like this: 1. Donovan McNabb (Starter) 2. Ryan Fitzspatrick (Back-up) 3. Jimmy Clausen (3rd string until the following year unless he absorbs the playbook like a sponge, adapts quickly to the speed of the NFL. -
Enough already! Go let Trent Edwards excel in that same league that Lossman did as he can't sense when the defense is about to sack him. He often throws 5 yards short or too far of the receiver when nobody is even in his face. I've heard the announcers on occasion mention that he had a lot of time but just didn't see his wide open receiver down field! His best passes were to the other team for a touchdown! I hope he reads this so I can tell him to fly away butterfly! Besides, he is lousy in the inclement weather...snow, fog, rain, sleet, cold, etc...and I remember an atrocious couple of games against Cleveland, and one in particular against Philadelphia amongst others! They need to go outside of the organization for their starter FA QB..and have either Brohm or Fitz as a backup...and whichever one of those two don't survive can them too and draft a QB as well! I don't see Chan Gailey not drafting or picking up a FA QB as the new starter!! I'll would lay $$$ on it if I were a gambler!!!!

What year will we return to the Super Bowl?
tonyjustbcuz replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows?? What a silly topic this is! The better question after a 10 year playoff drought is: What year will we get back into the playoffs? I would think that would be the pressing question at this point. You have to put the cart before the horse and right now we don't have a cart or a horse! We're about to shift to the 3-4 defense and typically teams that switch to that defense have a horrific year the year they switch into it! We may take a step back before taking two steps forward. I think the playoffs are at least two years away if we (pay) to retain the solid performers, pickup a few solid free agents, and have a successful draft including a QB, OT, DT, and LB. We have to hit big on this draft or we're two years away from possibly making the playoffs!! But Superbowl??? Isn't really worth discussing...we have way too many holes to fill to even think it's possible. -
Which Home Game is most likely to be moved to Toronto?
tonyjustbcuz replied to erikturk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that I would want to beat them at "HOME" and Toronto is not our home and hopefully will never be...I do appreciate the loyal Canadians who root for the Bills! That is pretty cool...we locals just hate to see them on foreign turf...no pun intended...I mean anywhere that is not at the Ralph regarding home games. Haven't the last two years teams have been from AFC East?? Anyways, give'em either Chicago, or Detroit, or even Cleveland which has been a clunker the past few years. -
And that scenario might not be either...so we learned a lot there! With a new head coach like Shananhan you can bet he is going to pick the QB that he thinks will lead the team for the next 10 year! Probably say goodbye to Bradford or Clausen..and I'll bet both MIGHT BE gone by the 9th pick! LOL
-
And he played good for a 1/2 season and was pretty much washed up after that! N.E. knows when to discard their players!
-
Just why would New England do anything to help our plight to build a good team?? I can see New England making mutual deals with Kansas City or someone that is far removed from the division...but I don't see this happening at all! And, why are people so inclined to want to move down to medocrity in the draft when we have an opportunity to get the 9th pick in the draft ? I want Quality not Quantity!! We have to many middle of the road players now...I would give all 9 picks we have for 1 Julius Peppers, or 1 Peyton Manning !!! Yeah, you can get a superstar lower in the draft, but overall the best odds are to pick a top 10 pick!!! but pick him prudently!
-
2 of 3 definitely not....I know there were 2 to be considered which is one of these! but due to technicalities one of them is hanging in the breeze, which means it's probably down to one and probably not one of these? maybe there is a hint in here if you read very carefully?

Most Important Postitions of Need For the Bills
tonyjustbcuz replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't entirely agree...Yes, If you are going to start a QB like the Jets did with M. Sanchez...but many teams don't start them their first year and I don't think that the Bills would start a rookie QB...at least until the starter gets injured. I think it's good for a rookie QB to come in and learn the system without the pressure of having to start right off the bat. Learn the playbook, get to know the players and practice, practice, practice...learn the speed of the NFL without getting knocked out in a game situation. I think the Bills should bring in a free agent even though I don't like most of the names of those who will be available to date. Have the QB be a mentor to the rookie...Don't sign the freeagent beyond 2 years to prevent a QB debate as to who the starter should be. If the FA QB falters from the start...yes that can lead to a QB controversy...but that's the risk you take...I also think we need to draft a LT...early as well...it would be nice to move back into the 1st round like N.England often does! Yeah and we need a DT early as well...and this and that..etc...lots of holes to fill ! -
Yes, I'm pretty sure the job has been filled except for a few technicalities...If it's who I have heard whispers about it's a pretty big name! Now...you guys may think I'm full of Mularkey (pardon the pun!)..but I kept giving hints about Chan Gailey two days before his name was anywhere to be found...If anyone out there remembers, I kept calling him "China Man" and that his name was a very popular chinese name "Chan." I'm not on the inside but I do visit some of the same "spots" that those in the know go...so I just hear things that quietly dribble about...and often they are right! like Chan Gailey. I'm pretty sure the name is a blast from the past! Have fun! Maybe I'll trickle out some more info later as there may be two hints within this blog!! Have fun!

Don't count out Trent Edwards
tonyjustbcuz replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Although Trent is book smart it has not parlayed to the field. 2. Trent gets hit a lot because he does not have the ability to sense pressure of defender's coming off the edges. 3. Trent has a quick release but often doesn't attempt to release it and gets sacked. He also releases it quickly but often throws a very short pass even when receivers are open downfield. Many of his passes that he releases quickly often are intercepted and has thrown several interceptions for the opposing team touchdown. 4. Trent not only throws checkdowns at a very high percentage of his throws, but was utterly so addicted to this practice that he earned the nickname "Captain Checkdown". 5. Trent has shown he can be accurate at times but often throws the ball short, to a defender, or over the receiver's head. 6. Trent can lead a 4th quarter comeback, but it can't be against a good team, or in bad weather, or on the west coast, and after they come back to tie the game he typically cannot finish and they lose the game in the final drive when he throws an interception! 7. Trent does not show the ability to lead the offense to many points. Usually if the opposing team scores 17 or more points the game is over! 8. Trent has had poor coaching and direction, but even with good coaching Trent is the one who throws the ball, can't sense pressure, and makes poor decisions during a play. The basics aren't too hard...you throw the ball to receivers in the same color uniform. 9. Trent was of the caliber of greatness or good to say he regressed. He never was really that good to begin with. He had a few okay games, but some of it was the other 10 guys on the field too.. 10. Trent is a injury magnet! He has a tendancy to get concussions and probably will have a short career! We want to keep Trent WHY?????????? Because Bill Walsh said he was going to be the next Joe Montana or something?? Come'on I can't even recall Joe Montana or Steve Young ever having a bad game although they probably had a few. Even your 10 reasons had negatives to his game...Just think if you wrote the 10 reasons to cut him loose! I could have given you 10 more! He is not that inspired! Sulks! Doesn't seem aggressive! Doesn't motivate his team on sidelines! Doesn't seem like the leader type! Has to be cliche and say he'll have to review the tape like D. Jauron did! Can't just admit that he was lousy!!! I don't like him as a QB, don't like his haircut!! lol....and I want him gone! I'd take sorry Lossman over Edwards..at least he'll throw a bomb every once in a while! Not Captain checkdown! I'd swap for Lossman in a NewYork second! Pass the clipboard to someone else Trent !!! Time for you to fly! (I HOPE) -
I enjoyed your blog..good job! I was actually all for drafting a QB with the #9 pick, but after reading your blog I don't think our O Line is developed enough to adequately protect a rookie QB (Maybe even a veteran!)..Without a drastic upgrade to our O Line I think you need a VERY mobile QB (Oh no...We'll here about Vick now!...what did I do!)...anyways, a rookie would be fed to the wolves in our current situation..confidence shaken! possibly injured early on! sounds like our QB's now doesn't it! Well after re-thinking my previous position on the draft I have shifted from 1st round QB, 2nd round LT, 3rd round DT....But my new position is #1 pick L OT #2 DT #3 OT #4 LB #5 QB #6 WR #6 S #7 DT #7 CB That is a huge change for me in my thinking but get your project QB in the 4-6 round range. The main thing is to build up your offensive and defensive lines because the "good" teams have great lines. Nothing worse than listening to the sports anyalyst point out and circle how the Bills offensive line is getting pushed backwards by the opposing team or during a replay point out what a big gap the other team's running back had to run through the center of our defense! The main thing in this draft is to get QUALITY not Quantity! Trade up if you can to get into the 1st round twice! But don't trade down to save salary...and whatever the Bills do don't reach for players that are undersized but may develop into their frame like Aaron Maybe Maybin! Should've gone for Brian Orakapo!!!!!!!!!! Watch out for character questions and players like Lynch! Trade him if you can get a fourth round pick or better! I hope they release Trent Edwards....I like Fitszy for a backup or 3rd QB...I don't know about Brohm, but if he is still struggling with the playbook you may want to release him as well! If you can get a mobile veteran FA QB you really have to go for it ! I really don't know if I can deal with ex-cons as my "Leader" so I think a high character guy is important especially when you are trying to rebuild a franchise from top down!

What would you rather have?
tonyjustbcuz replied to Gotta Dream's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you read my entire post you would have read that I said there are no sure things at any position and that a 1st round QB may be a flop in his first year and only we 5 games or so....It's a risk/reward thing that I mentioned before, but if they hit on a franchise QB in the mode of Rothlesberger, Jim Kelly, Peyton Manning or the likes then the reward is sweet! and a QB is a far greater impact player than a lineman or a linebacker or something like that. Each position on a football team is important and that becomes evident in a team like Indy who is a cohesive unit. You need to start with your "Offensive General" the QB and quickly find a left OT to help protect him. Now, there are some traits like being able to sense the pressure coming from the opposing defense that a qb needs to be able to sense. This is one of the many flaws that Trent Edwards has, and he will never be anything more than a serviceable backup QB. Talent evaluation of the college level is nothing but an educated guess and Sanchez had an up and down season. So far he has done good overall leading his team as far as he did into the playoffs. It will take at least 3 years or more normally to evaluate how each individual player has performed in the NFL. Remember, Trent Edwards was streaky and put up some good numbers until he sustained his concussion 2 seasons ago and at that moment everyone thought we had our QB of the future. So give Sanchez a little more time yet before crowning him as a franchise (Sanchize) QB. (Personally I think he will be a good one though!). Bottom line is you have to take some chances based on the best information you can dig up on the players you are going to draft onto your roster. Bradford is a potential bust right from the get go..you never know how a shoulder injury on your throwing side is going to heal..Also Tebow has all the intangibles..but his mechanics are not best suited for the NFL...He is not the best runner like a Vick etc...he runs over players in college but he won't be able to do that to the majority of NFL players who are bigger, and faster. Leflevor...Central Michigan is highly touted by many..but you have to remember he plays against the same inferior talent that the Buffalo Bulls do! That is not the same as going up against Ohio State or Florida State or Penn State! So it's a huge jump for him to make...and pardon the pun but he may find himself out of his leaugue quite literally and also have a difficult time grasping an NFL playbook and competing against superior talent. So I am definitely a skeptic about the top QB's and that includes Jimmy Clausen...but you still have to try!! I think the Bills need to also pick up a skilled FA QB as well...and under the tutalage of a veteran a new QB will have the time necessary to develop his NFL skills, acclimate to the speed of the NFL, and begin to understand the complex playbook that team's utilize. So as far as how good these QB's are anyways....we'll have to wait and see..but I'd like to have one please Ralphy boyz -
What would you rather have?
tonyjustbcuz replied to Gotta Dream's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WHAT?? Your user name is "Gotta Dream" and yet you are talking about high risk-high reward and too much of a gamble...Risk is part of the game and for you to see the aren't ready for a high risk pick like a QB...What better time than now??? We have in all practicality "NOTHING" So how can something be a big gamble when you have nothing to begin with...what's there to lose??? Oh the QB might flop and you end up with 5 or 6 wins! That's all we know..5,6,7 wins! and even if it were 2 wins..at least we'd draft higher...but the reward...the sweet reward could be 8 or 9 wins...not much more than that despite how good a QB is when you have all the holes we do! Oh yeah, there are no sure things at any position...so much can change...the speed of the game is faster in the NFL, injuries happen, some players can't grasp the playbook right away, some get a fat contract and get lazy...ie: Mike Williams! A sure thing at the time! 4th pick...pretty safe pick picking a OT right??? Woops..guess not!! Plenty of examples...POZ was a sure thing too..and he has been injury prone and not the dominant force so far that many people expected...I don't mean to rip into this blog...but how can you not..the entire thing is a contradiction, and a pessimistic view of what we need to do!! You can stick with Trent Edwards or Fitzy if you want and waste another season,...but thank God it's not your call ! (nor is it mine)..So "Gotta Dream" huh...the blog would fit much better if your username was "Better safe than sorry" !!!!
