  1. I understand what your saying and the merit of it as well..but the only thing is that I don't any probably many other people don't have confidence quite yet in the Bills Front office. I think as long as Tom Modrak remains and some of the previous regime, I am going to have some reservations that we can competently draft players who will be valuable to the franchise. I don't think it's necessary to cover the players the Bills have drafted in the past decade because that has been well documented going back to drafting Bryce Fischer who was in the Military and I don't even think he ever played for us. Then there is the lack of work ethic that Mike Williams presented. Both of these draft picks were wasted opportunities that should have been detectable prior to ever drafting these players and many others. So as long as we continue on the long dry road of playoff drought and mediocre players at best, I'd rather get players who have been in other organizations through Free Agency and at least have hope for the near future if nothing but the entertainment value of it. Last year is a primary example of our draft pattern...We select probably the 4th or 5th best projected DE over B. Orakapo who was rated as the best on most everyone's draft mocks including the so called experts like Kiper, Sporting News, and Pro football Weekly! But, we are always smarter than everyone else and we take the 40 lb underweight tweener that the Bills will grow into is frame because Paul Pozinjury is an alumni and convinces the Bills organization that they want Aaron Maybe Maybin in the draft. I hope the lightbulbs come on in our organization and they formulate a winning plan which will take at least 3 years or more through the draft. I am hoping that Buddy Nix is the second coming of Bill Polian, but GM's of his caliber are a rare breed and releasing B. Polian was probably the beginning of the collapse of the Buffalo Bills. I think we should pick up 2 good FA on Offense and 2 on Defense as we have a lot of holes on the Bills. If you accept mediocrity I suppose there are only 4 or 5 holes on this team, but if you are true to excellence and admit the Bills shortcomings..then I think you realize that the Bills really have about 9 or 10 holes on this team. You could take several of our starters and they would be backup players for depth on several of your better teams. Next years draft would be unbelievably successful if they can net 3 or 4 quality starters out of the deal, but seriously they probably will draft 2 starters if they are lucky. With so many holes to fill on both sides of the ball, it seems they are going to patch those holes with maybe lesser freeagents as a stopgap player. Not necessarily a quality starter, but a warm body to fill the vacancy. I think this mode of think is filled with flaws and I see the Bills taking a step or two backwards in the upcoming year. I want the Bills to win as much as the next guy, but there are reasons why teams fill holes with FA's. I check the FA Tracker every few hours just hoping for some FA signings to no avail. I know it's premature, but everything or actually next to nothing which I see happening leads me to believe that the Bills will be about 5-11 next year. Historically, teams who switch from the 4/3 to the 3/4 defense have a terrible year in the date of its inception...So good luck Buddy in the draft...You better find the next Sproles, LT, and Merriweather...etc....and a couple of more to fill the holes on the Bills. flaw of the Bills is our owner Ralphy boy! Even if we draft great....We almost never are able to keep our high price Unrestricted FA...AND that's not an opinion it's a fact....ie: Nate Clements, Antwoine Winfield, Pat Williams, Jabari Greer, Sam Cowhart, Ted Washington etc.......and many more....So what's the sense??? Go get me 5 top FA signees now starting with a QB, OT, LB, DT/NT, WR and see just where the Bills finish the next two years in conjuction with our draft!! yeah...maybe Ralph will pay a load of money, but he'll make back lots of dough too when his team wins more...gets extra revenue from playoff games, is able to demand more money from Toronto if he wants to extend the team's one game a year venture, merchandise sales, and maybe some MNF games as well. I understand the flaws with my thinking as Washington's owner blows the heck out of this theory, but I think relevancy in this leaugue is short-term and by the time you build now days through the draft...if your owner isn't willing to shell out big bucks to keep the free-agents...then your doomed and you have to find a replacement...and go through the whole process again!! Look at N.England...they pickup big name FA's and have success and so does many teams...look at Minnesota and Favre! enough..said... spokespersons may say that FA's aren't the key to a successful team but many players have proved that to be false including Drew Breeze!!! Buffalo needs to get off their butts and make something happen....if nothing else inject some enthusiasm into the Bills organization..Get fired up!!! Get some real good FA's before they are all sold! I see many players I would love to have...why don't they??? It's almost like having extra picks in the draft by picking up a few of these guys!! I don't understand the Bills thinking...I think Gailey was hired for this belief as the bottom line with this team is the BOTTTOM Line in the standings!!!!!!!!
  2. You sound convincing, but not to me...yeah it's great to have depth...but depth to what? We really need to get some quality starters before we can back up lousy players. We have so many holes that I am hoping that this isn't going to be it! I know how we like to pick up just two or three free agents and that's it. I can't even say I have ever heard of this guy? Have u...
  3. Yeah...we could give them Donte Whitner, M. Lynch, Roscoe Parrish, Hardy, Pozinjury, Mitchell, both 7th round picks and I wouldn't care and I would think we stole him...lol...Seriously, Lynch and a 4th round pick should be fair compensation as he is getting older. or a 2nd round pick and Parrish!
  4. Hope so, I can't stand that punk Lynch!
  5. Yeah, Wegmans are giving away Whitner Jerseys if you purchase a bag of Lemons !!!! lol
  6. Boy, they saw you coming!! lol... Did you look at the dollar store yet?? lol
  7. Yeah..he's such a great player that we may just land a 6th round pick if we're lucky! lol...
  8. Yeah..he's such a great player that we may just land a 6th round pick if we're lucky! lol...
  9. Brady Quinn QB of course! (Just a guess) Anyways, D. Whitner talks too much to begin with...You probably remember his popular prediction that the Bills were going to the playoffs in 2008!!! He made some other idiotic statement last year, but it was so stupid I can't even remember it! He needs to keep his mouth shut and play football for the first time in a few years!! I had high expectations for him, and I don't know if it is because he is immature, lazy, or not capable of understanding film study and a NFL playbook....But he's coming dangerously close to being a bust! Please shove yourself in a suitcase and head off to Cleveland Donte !
  10. Yeah...lol...and there have been rumors that their has been several personnel from the Bills organization spotted inside the confines of Indy's stadium as of late, which may mean that they may be getting close to making an offer that Indy may consider for Peyton Manning....On a side note: The Bills also had scouts and personnel to talk to players at the combine and conduct a few interviews while in the building. They talked to a OT that Mel Kiper has rated as the 24th best OT available in the draft, but the Bills have him much higher on their draft board. Buddy Nix said that he is a 6 year Senior that played for 2 years at Georgia Tech prior to transferring to a little college out of Loserville, Montana. Buddy Nix stated that the 6 year Senior is a distint cousin of his and he would like to draft someone that he can trust into the Good-ole buddy network that they are assembling in Buffalo. Buddy Nix mentioned that this OT is under the radar and the Bills are going to trick everybody and draft this player with their first round draft pick. There is speculation from a friend of a friend's cousin that the Bills are very interested in 2 offensive players on the E.C.C. (South) squad. Dave Tweener (DE) and an unidentified player. Tweener is a first year Senior who is about 50 lbs undersized, but he has real good hands and may grow into his frame just like A. Maybe Maybin. Dave Tweener spoke to the media earlier today and mentioned that it would be such a easy transition for him and the commute would be ideal as he would drive across the E.C.C. parking lot and would be able to squeeze practices in between his classes. He also mentionend that it was a bonus that the Bills don't practice outdoors and usually are not in pads. He mentioned that he could go right from practice to his phys ed classes at E.C.C. without even working up a sweat. Mr. Tweener also mentioned that he doesn't have classes on Fridays and that it would be an ideal situation because he could blow off a few practices on Fridays just like T.O. did. This should be such an intersting and fund Free Agency period as we watch other teams pick up players. We just may trade our top four rounds of the draft away for lower round draft picks so we can stay ahead of the game and save money for future years that may be capped. You wouldn't want to pick up Julius Peppers or anyone of experience because if you did that may mean the Bills might someday make the playoffs and that would mean that it would be difficult for the Bills to go against their GREEN policy as they may have to use more electricity for lighting the stadium. So far the Bills are the most eco friendly team in the leaugue as they have saved at least 10 playoff games over the past decade and they also give up a regular season game to Toronto and also some years they give up a pre-season game to Toronto as well...Way to Go with the Buffalo Bills and our Eco Friendly team who puts savings and the environment before winning!! Lets go Bills Lets go Bills Lets GO Bills
  11. Great! and maybe Cowher will be our coach...woops! Well at least we cut Trent Edwards...woops!....Well Mike Shananhan is interested in the Bills...woops! Shottenheimers woops....Vick is coming...yeah right!.... Well now D. McNabb may come....uh huh...yeah...not to the cheapo Bills...Too flashy of a move when you got 3 QB's on your roster!...lmao...Really, does anyone think D. McNabb would want to end his career in Buffalo? We can't protect a QB! Why would he? It's because it's a Excellent Organization!....yeah right! okay the weather! back to lmao again! ....the money? This is the Bills right? I don't think so! If we go for anybody it'll be for small potatoes...you know him...The often injured QB who has had glimmers of success and throws a lot of interceptions now...but he'll get back to where he was. Sounds like Dellhome...maybe Thighpen...but It wouldn't surprise me if the Bills stay with the three blind mice they already have!
  12. 1ST Round picks are like Gold! I think it would take our 2nd & 4th plus Lynch to move back into the 1st round. All the NFL GM's know that Lynch is one violation away from a season's suspension, and will be wary of adding him to their teams. I don't like him overall, but really think he will be here in September. I hope I am wrong!! I hope that it does happen and we draft a OT like you are saying..
  13. Agreed !! Now I would like to see Tom Modrak gone because I don't see where he has helped this team during his time with the club. Wouldn't he be considered deadweight...Maybe he is friends with either NIX or Whaley??? I just think he had a long unsuccesful stint with the Bills and should be released. Maybe, I'm wrong about that..I can't say that I know exactly what he does day to day...but as an organization there wasn't much success and he was right in the thick of it all !
  14. I just read on the same site as the link above that the Rams are leaning towards McCoy with their first pick...If this is so then Detroit would probably take Suh ! But if for some reason they did trade that pick to us (Bills) I would choose Suh over any QB this year. I would still think it was a unusually bold and expensive move for the Bills and would be surprised for them to move up to the number slot in the 1st round. I would be just as happy if Buffalo choose Bradford as I think they need to get a QB they believe in and a franchise QB that they have lacked for several years. It should be an interesting draft and maybe the Bills will do the unexpected as so far it's been a dull coaching change with dull roster moves. I think the Bills are going to have to do something big somewhere along the line if they want to keep their seats full at the Ralph. This just may be the ticket to punch to do that...but then you have to wonder if the Bills would put a rookie QB in as a starter right off the bat? There definitely is a desperate need to upgrade the Offensive Line and especially L OT Immediately! If it means otherwise keeping the 3 blind mice that we currently have as QB's then I am 1oo percent for drafting a QB in the first and picking up an older experienced QB in free agency in order to mentor a young QB like Sam Bradford or Clausen, or Lefeveor...etc.. The part that makes me wonder if this is a possiblity is the pricetag!! $ 40,000,000 Plus for a QB with no NFL experience that would be a unique concept for Ralph Wilson to swallow!
  15. Nothing like shooting for mediocrity in the most cruicial position in football ! If we're lucky we'll get another Trent Edwards...LOL !! Seriously, you can get lucky and pick a future Pro Bowl QB & Hall of famer in the third round with extreme luck! But, I would think the odds are that you are going to pick up the majority of your superstars in the first round ....the Peyton Mannings...of course for arguements sake which are sure to follow....you can find a player like Tom Brady later in the draft every so often...But just going on odds we need to give ourselves the best opportunity and draft a QB at the top of the draft (yes...1st round..) and then somehow trade back into the first round..(maybe trade our 2nd and M. Lynch & Roscoe Parrish) to get back into the first round and select one the many talented OT's that are in the draft this year. Don't think that can't be done as the Bills have moved back into the 1st round before...and N.England does it all the time and have 2 picks in the 1st round this year as well ! Then we need to get a solid NT in the 3rd...or trade back into the 2nd for a NT! It can be done..but it takes guts, shrewdness, and something we have been lacking in as an organization: Football Knowledge!!! Back to the issue at hand though is get your QB....in the draft, and I would pick up a FA QB (Best of what's left)...and keep the one QB that currently remains with the most upside! (Hopefully not T.Edwards)..I know it's a gamble but it's much better than not taking the risk and having the potential of reward! So many times D. Jauron punted with just a few minutes left and down by 9 points! Yeah, you can get the ball back possibly...maybe get a T.D. if your lucky...try an on-sides kick...and miracles could happen....or you do a Rex Ryan and go for it on 4th & 2 and be aggressive! That is another thing this organization has been lacking is aggressiveness! Be the first team to target and attempt to acquire some of the free agents, aggresively pursue trades in the draft, make things happen! Show everyone you are going all out....Don't do what you did with the coaching charade and drag things on and lose all your opportunites in the end and settle for little known football people that coached at the second best college in Gerorgia! Like Rocky said "Go for it" ! and then go for it! get the best QB, best L OT you can, best FA's available, and get rid of bad attitude players or troublemakers like M. Lynch! Lots of ideas here...Some will be popular and I will get scorched for some of my ideas, but the main thing is we need to strive to be the best and get the best General (QB) into our organization! It would be nice to be proud of the Bills again and be able to remove the negative shadow of our team and community!
  16. Like Archie Bunker used to say "Whoopy de Doo" !!!!!!! I feel encouraged that they are signing a player who didn't stick with his past "5" teams! I'm sure he'll come cheap too! Ralph & his clones should be happy about that...ugh!
  17. Can't stand Edwards, Don't know Brohm, and Fitzy was inconsistent with some bright moments. So he is the lesser of 3 evils in my book. I really hate the idea of this thread and have to run to the bathroom and puke! I am so sick of Edward Pisser Hands being one of our QB's !!!
  18. All I had to read was "Give Trent Edwards a chance" and your first line of your blog and I stopped and had all I could do from puking on myself! I normally write long blogs like yours but I think I will vomit and die and I have to watch a third season of Trent Edwards playing checkdown, not being able to sense the defensive rush swarming around him, looking directly at the receiver he is looking for which results in more interceptions, getting injured all the time and concussions because he can't sense pressure, not going for the open receiver downfield, not being able to play in cold weather, rainy weather, foggy weather, hot weather, snowy weather, loud conditions, away games, etc.....I could go on, but just why should we go with Trent Edwards???? Oh you like his haircut and how he politely replies after countless losses that he will have to review the tape of the play or game to see exactly what happened? I will tell you what happened, He sucked !!
  19. Mamu...should be Most ! Must've hit the wrong keys..
  20. Really Love & appreciate the optimism! I just can't feel the same way even though I would love to....First of all we made the major switch from 4/3 to 3/4. Mamu of our defenders are undersized and won't cut it ! Probably factored into why we released Ryan Denney who I thought was marginal at best. Speaking of marginal, we have a lot of players who are marginal or mediocre. Not only are we purging many players, and I agree that many of them need to go elsewhere....but by doing so we are creating holes all over the board. We also are depleting whatever depth we have at some positions as well. We would be extrememly fortunate and lucky if we found 3 or 4 starters in the upcoming draft. It is more likely that we will find 1 or 2 starters ! We need to replace Josh Reed, and also Terrell Owens...so there's two holes already, we need to find a starting L OT, a NT, a DT, at least two LB's , and IMO a QB as well. So we're up to 8 players so far and I haven't even thought that hard about it yet! No guarantee the Pozinjury is going to get through an entire season either! I think Tebow is a great character and College QB, but he is trying to reinvent his throwing mechanics and is more of a risky project and will need at least a year of tutealige before being tested on the field. I am also worried about Tom Modrak still being heavily involved in the NFL Draft! He's been here a long time and just exactly what has he done for us?? I am glad D.J. is gone, but I am not optimistic about the hirings of all these no name college coaches and assistants that were mostly from the second best College in Georgia! I think we have a long, long, way to go and I can't buy into your mirage that you paint of a golden hill on a sunny day, when all I see when I envision the Bills is a smelly hill of natural fertilizer fermenting in the hot sun leaving the aroma of nasty smelling cow shet!!! Early and realistic 2010-11 Buffalo Bills prediction 5-11 Also historically, teams that switch from the 4/3 to 3/4 are almost always a very very bad team their initial year playing the new defense and typically 3-13 would be about what would be expected!
  21. I don't know much about the QB Jarrett Brown but I have heard good thinngs about the top 3 picks on this list and I like Roosevelt from UB....So I'd be happier with this draft than the players the Bills will probably really draft! As you can tell I have little (actually no) confidence in the Bill's drafting capabilities based on the last decade. If T. Modrak wasn't here I probably would be more optimistic. Hopefully Buddy Nix will do as well as he has in the past in S. Diego dependent upon rather he was really the go to person in making those decisions for that organization?
  22. Who the heck is Romo now?? He really hasn't done much at all!! Just has a nice smile when he's happy and whines like a baby when he's not! Dallas isn't that dominant for the big stink that people make over them. How many times have they even made the playoffs the past decade? Not too much at all! Even with Romo they have been an after thought most decembers until this year and really didn't accomplish much in the end this year as well...I think Romo is good QB...But not elite by any measure. There are so many better QB's in the NFL right now...just off the top of my head is Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Breeze, Rothlesberger, B. Favre, Kurt Warner (now retired.), and probably a few others as well...Matt Ryan etc.....So who the hell is Tony Romo now?????
  23. I just wonder how much LT would want to go from Sunny California weather to Buffalo's?? How well he would perform in this climate also?? Where did u hear that the Bill's are targeting a RB in the draft? We have so many holes to fill that are a much higher priority than RB that it is very hard to lend credence to such a proposterous idea! Charlie Whitewho?? Just what we need another 3rd round QB with less experience and success than Trent Edwards!! Wouldn't the Bills have to beat S.D.'s highest offer as they have the right to match highest offer? Nothing like getting into a bidding war for someone that has very little if any NFL experience! I think the USA Today article above was well written, but I don't see any of it happening, and I am not sure that it would be in the Bill's best interest for any of it to happen as well!!
  24. Thanks! Appreciate the reply... Like I said, I am sure there are a few QB's to challenge the draft only theory and I think it's great that you took the time to research the stats! I am a little more "open" (not that I have the luxury of making the decision) to the idea of Jason Campbell based on the stats you furnished. I think Jim Kelly was approx. a 89% QB rating for his career and he probably had a couple years of growing pains as well before kicking into gear! So, Jason Campbell isn't way off I suppose. I read a post earlier that mentioned that he struggles with the long ball and to be honest I don't know if that is true or not. I don't see him play that often. Yes, We agree the Bills need a QB and even though it sounds as if the Bills want to keep Trent, I really am hoping that they don't! I just don't care for him as a QB period! Sometimes I like Fitzy, but he is inconsistent. I just don't have a pulse on B. Brohm, only heard that he has a difficult time with the knowledge of a NFL Playbook and his one performance wasn't good! I really think we need to get a FA QB and draft one (if they feel there is a worthy QB in the draft?). In that scenario, I would hope that they would start the FA, have Fitzy the initial backup, and the rookie 3rd string until he gets caught up on the playbook and adjusts to the speed of the NFL. Then sometime later in the season if the rook is doing well bump him up to #2 QB or starter if the Bills are lost in their season again. That's providing they have a solid L OT that can block the rush and not get the QB Killed! I don't know if that is a reasonable opinion...just how I'm looking at it right now. I'm mixed on Donovan McNabb! If the Eagles would even let him go! I know he would be better probably than anything in the QB junkyard that we currently have and suppose there is a GOOD arguement...lol....for picking up a younger FA like Jason Campbell ! I'm starting to warm up to it some...I'm definitely burnt out on Trent. Anyways, it's dinner time..Yeah, no biggee..it's hard to determine tone and serious intentions sometimes from just blogging your opinion and having some football fun disputing a point.. It's cool..sometimes a clash of ideas is great as I needed to get revved up a little for football talk as it is at it's most boring lull until the NFL Draft which I'm obsessed with! Yeah, the Combines just started up but I find it a little boring except for knowing who runs the fastest and who can lift the most reps. Go Bills!!!
