  1. Wow, just too long to bother read!! I'm moving on...didn't want a book just a blog..If you have to go through all that to make a simple point about the importance of your 1st round pick...then your just trying to convince yourself I suppose! Thanks For playing
  2. I definitely agree and feel so much better tonight about our future than yesterday. As long as we move in a better direction than the team's of the past several years...and continue to find quality in FA and have a good draft then I may become my old optimistic self again in reference to our Bills!!! Go Bills..
  3. Well, Well...I know we have to do the majority of our building through the draft, but it is nice that we may have filled some holes through FA. If we can fill another hole or two in FA and draft at least 3 capable starters then I may have to revise my 2010-2011 prediction of 5-11 !!! I will bump it up to 6-10 tonight in good faith and hopefully by the end of FA be up to 7 wins...and if we have a San Diego type of draft who knows I may be up to 8, 9...or (well I better not push it...lol) Let's Go Bills Lets GO Bills...BaBaBaBa Billllllllllllz!
  4. Whoo Hoo! Finally a little something to "Shout" about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Bills
  5. Must be! Or maybe he works under disguise for another AFC East team...lol....I sure hope the Bills are not as stupid as this guy hopes! The past decade makes me wonder?
  6. I am sure that spiller is very talented and probably uses more of his talent than M. Lynch does (who I wish were gone!), but seeing that he is here and the bills have the overachieving F. Jackson the position doesn't really need an upgrade at this time. There are so many other gaping holes that the Bill's can not afford to expend their highest pick on a RB ! We need a OLT desperately!!! We need a QB IMO without question!!! We need a DT/NT to plug the middle of the field!!! We need multiple LB's to accomodate the 3-4 shift!!! We also need to plan in the event of Aaron Schobel's retirement, and realize that Chris Ellis has been a bust, and although not yet determined the groundwork has so far been laid to question rather Aaron Maybe Maybin will also be a bust! So knowing these things, and also realizing that the Bills' have to also add depth to their lines and Linebacking corps I think it is almost proposterous to even fathom the Bills picking a RB unless they plan on making a big trade involving maybe M. Lynch and another player or two for a teams first round pick. I still wouldn't draft a RB even if I had a second 1st rounder, but I would find it less infuriating instead of using are only pick on a position of adequacy!
  7. Correction...WR's can be drafted in later rounds not early...Sorry...
  8. I love your optimism, and rather you were right than me with my gloomy diagnosis of the Bills organization and projected record for the upcoming season! There is no way that this team will be better than .500 this season and that's beyond reasonable as I think 4 or 5 wins is on the mark. Historically, if you look at how teams fare the season that they switch from the 4/3 defense to the 3/4 defense it is not pretty! I believe if I remember correctly that 4 or 5 wins is better than the average of a team that switches defense. Add that we have mostly new Management except for Tom Modrak, Russ Brandon and a couple of other behind the scenes people, a entirely new coaching staff that has little NFL experience. Yes, Chan Gailey has some, but not a momentus amount and he was only marginally successful. Most of their coaches come from the 2nd best College in Georgia...Georgia Tech...maybe not even 2nd? Then they hire Buddy Nix who is likeable but comes with no GM experience (Sounds like another Marv Levy...great guy, but out of his territorial waters)...You have to take into account the repetitious injuries that have plagued the Bills over the past several years. By God, they had 20 guys on injured reserve last season. That is beyond the norm...and hopefully this staff will get them in game shape. I don't even think the Bills organization from what I understand is optimistic about a winning season year. I think one of the people in management was interviewed and mentioned that it is going to take some time to right this ship? There are many holes on this team, which is like looking at a piece of swiss cheese! IMO Trent Edwards is not the right QB to lead the offense. Trent Edwards even at his best was lousy in every contest that the weather was not ideal! If it's raining, snowing, cold, foggy, on turf, away games, etc...Trent is a non-productive QB ! If it is a home game against Seattle, Oakland, Detroit and it is 72 degrees and partly sunny and nobody is injured and it's early in the year then Trent Edwards is capable of throwing 2 touchdowns/1 interception for 215 yards !! But if it's anything but ideal forget it...and now that he has had multiple concussions I think he plays scared. I don't like him as a player and don't see that he is improving at all. I see him regressing, lacking confidence, injury prone, lacking football intelligence even though he is book smart. I think if we start Trent this year it will quickly turn into another washed out season by week #8. I think M. Lynch has a bad attitude and it has been discussed that a lot of his teamates are turned off by his condescending attitude. I think he is bad for morale and for the city of Buffalo and if the Bills are as serious as you say about winning you should see him gone before the beginning of the season. That will be one indicator rather the Bills are heading in the right direction or not to me. Roscoe Parrish has made it clear that he wants to move on...and personally if a player doens't want to be here..I don't want him and neither should the coaches. The only way I see that changing is if the Bill's plan on starting him at WR. I don't want that as I don't think he is a starter at the position but one heck of a special teams player and a good changeup. If he remains here I'd be surprised, and maybe even disappointed. The Bills sure lack for WR's who can usually be drafted in the early rounds. Defensive end positions on this team are a mess! You got that guy I barely can remember hmmm...I'll get back to him..and you are probably losing A. Schobel to retirement, but even if he sticks for another year...He's done! Once your contemplating retirement your on your way out the door...except for Brett Favre...lol Aaron Maybe Maybin is a whole segment..how disappointing is it when they draft players way undersized with the belief that they will grow into their frame in about 2 or three years...By the time he does he'll probably be just about gone...as the Bills rarely keep their players when come to fruitation~ And I am right about that...ie: London Fletcher, Jabari Greer, Nate Clements, Sam Cowhart, Antwoine Winfield, Pat Williaims,.....and many more...alot of talent that the Bills won't pay for. So when the talent begins to peak, the Bills don't compete to keep a player. Instead N.O. gets Greer who is a good player! Each time the Bills do this, they have another hole to fill...and if you get a FA stop gap player like Buddy Nix stated...then yes you fill the hole but not the talent void at a discount. You substitute quality with numbers which leads you to patching holes each season instead of building and adding on to what you have. It's a sinking boat with a waterpump! Yes, your keeping up with the rising water, but your not making progress...Instead of being proactive the Bills are being reactive!! Again, I just don't understand why you think the Bills are going to be 10-6 ??? Based on what....??? QB? No ....WR's ? NO... RB's ? You have one! But when you need to get into the endzone and need a tough 3 yards on 3rd down..what always happens with the Bills? They attempt a FG !!! F. Jackson is more elusive than powerful ! Okay, based on LB's NO! Who Pozinjury...Pozluzny..whatever, NYG's former player...can't even remember his name he's hidden so well? Nah...not LB'S no! DT's Nope! Holes across the line! Big weakness not worth arguing over that one.....Okay our O LINE? Hope E. WOODS recovers that's a big if....Nobody as far as OLT that's going to protect the QB! Levitre may be okay...he's young has lots to learn yet...but overall NO! Looks like we're down to the kickers, special teams, and CB's when it comes to the strength of this team. That is something to build on but we're a long way from the playoffs! We lose a lot of close games...sure...but the better teams make more plays and win the close ones...Detroit lost several close games in their winless season! Nobody remembers that....and then they improved some and won 2 Games last season. So what, It's not a great leaugue but we're not nearly good enough to win 10 games. The Bills are in a major rebuilding stage only you don't realize that and neither does a lot of fans. That's okay, put the blinders on...but when it's all said and done next season and the Bills are 5-11 next season (plus or minus one game)...Just remember I told you so! Please prove me wrong! Tell me that the Bills will re-sign any marquee players they develop at contract time! Tell me that they will get 9 starters our of this draft even though 4 picks are rounds 6 or 7! I think 3 starters would be very fortunate and that would just begin to fill a few of the many holes we have! Tell me that these coaches have sustained superior performance and we should blindly believe in them! Tell me that Tom Modrak won't make the same mistakes he's made with this organization the past 10 seasons when draft day comes! Tell me that the man with the Checkbook..yes R.W. will gladly pay 20, 30, 40, million dollars when we finally get a franchise QB instead of either trading down the pick or choosing another position that is not so expensive! Tell me that T. Edwards won't be a walking coma and throw a poor pass that hits the ground short of the receiver or that he will finally be able to sense defensive pressure closing in before being sacked and then fumbling the ball! If you can't convince your audience that you are posting to of some of these things, then just why are you trying to make us believe that the Bills are going to win 10 games this season!! A lot of what your saying sounds like yesterday's rubbish and unless you can support some of what your saying with fact it's utterly a waste of time. Thanks for playing though
  9. Nothing like trading down to a talent level that in all probability will be closer to mediocrity when the Bills have been a mediocre team or worse the past decade. The nice thing about your plan is that by the time you have all your draft picks on the roster that their contracts will begin to mature in that 3-5 year window...and debate if you want to about this fact: That almost everytime a player reaches it's peak and their contract is due to be renewed the Bills get cold feet because they don't want to shell out the Big payday bucks. That is Ralph Wilson by the way that is responsible for that as he has the checkbook on payday! Therefore, players like Jabari Greer, Pat Williams, Antwoine Winfield, Nate Clements and you probably can name at least another 5 to 10 players just like those good players that walked...maybe Sam Cowhart, London Fletcher...etc...and the beat goes on! So it's not the method you acquire players, but it's also the mentality of the owner and the organization that holds this NFL franchise in the doldrums of the NFL basement. If you develop players, but don't keep your talent. Then you are always trying to fill gaps and replace players. Basically your just spinning your wheels in the snow, or staying afloat in a boat that your taking on water while filling up buckets of water and emptying over the side. It's actually simple...if you are to build a winning franchise, you must be willing take two steps forward in each year of your plan! You can't be purging and adding when it comes to talent. You only purge negative players who are non-achievers, detrimental to the character of the team (Lynch) etc... You try to add the highest quality player you have the fortune to add! This is why I do not believe you trade down in the draft!!!! The higher you pick, the greater amount of players you have to choose from. The higher the percentage of success you have in your opportunity to pick a future hall of famer! Notice, I said opportunity....as it's the organization's responsibility to have the scouting dept. to pick the right players! I'd rather trade-up almost everytime than trade down! I know this is a no-duh example, but it makes a point..... I would give up my entire draft if I could have drafted Peyton Manning when Indy did!!! Who else did Indy draft that year??? Who did we draft that year? Inconsequental isn't it!!! I know there are no guarantees when drafting a top OT, QB, NT, etc...but that's where your Bill Polian's come into play! Talent evaluation is so important and maybe where D.Whaley and Buddy Nix can do a lot of good!! I am just worried about the other third of that tandem: Tom Modrak!!!! He's had plenty long to have a postive imprint on the team's roster, and he doesn't. I am worried you will see more of the same, cutsie type of personnel moves and the lack of moves when necessary. I also am worried that when it's time to draft that a high-caliber draft pick may make the Bills shy away from selecting them at a skill position due to the whopping contract demands that for instance a top-10 QB would feel entitled to. I am not convinced in your theory, or the Bills organization methology of drafting, acquiring or re-signing players and therefore I have the misfortune and ability to predict the future rather accurately until they change the owner's and management's philosophies: 2010: 5-11 2011: 7-9 (If they play) 2012: Key year either 5-11 or 9-7 depending on if history repeats itself and this team runs this ship in the same fashion!!
  10. Good Post! Well, I was so mad that we got Maybin and yes, I wanted B. Orakapo so badly! I also wanted Everette Brown as well as he slid quite a bit in the draft..Didn't hear much about him last year so I guess he wasn't an impact player. I have to admit that I wanted at least one of those 3 receivers and leaned towards Malcom Kelly who was the popular predicted pick for Buffalo at the time. I did not like the Bills picking Hardy at all! Yes, I was on the Lynch wagon as he seemed like such a great running back and was talking about what a momma's boy he was and how she would go wherever he went and making himself sound like a former boyscout and a shoe-in for "Drink Milk" commercials. Boy, I was sure lured in like a lot of other people by his b.s. and I wish he were gone! Go F. Jackson!! So this year the player who would make me vomit would be the RB Spiller. I can't say I have vast knowledge of him, but we have so many priority needs above RB and that is what was messing with my head the other day when the Bills were one of two teams to give Spiller an independent workout prior to the NFL Draft. This year give me a OLT and a QB in round 1 and 2 in either order and I will probably be a happy camper unless the player is a big reach! Get back into the 1st or 2nd and get us a NT/DT and I will scream with joy, but at least get one in the 3rd if not.
  11. I agree with alot of what you are saying! I did not like the C. Green signing at all, the spent a chunk of change on a player that has been with 5 teams in 10 years and just hasn'g panned out yet and may never will ! Buddy Nix mentioned getting a few stop gap players in FA and that is exactly what he may be...just someone to plug into a hole with a degraded amount of talent at the position. I believe the scouting dept. is short sighted, lackluster and like you mentioned short changed. I am not crazy with Modrak at all, but after doing some reading their is a tight relationship that exists among D. Whaley, and Modrak which means Modrak will stay! Honestly, After doing much research last year on the College class (well every year)...I set-up my little war room, make charts, graphs, lists of best available athlete, color code players with medical history, character problems & legal history, and the like and make my projections and plan b, c, d as well in case my projected player is already selected by another team. What I realized is that although imperfect a lot of the sporting magazines like Pro Football Weekly, Athlon, Sporting News etc....generally come close in grading players, their pros, cons, weaknesses etc...and if you go on FFTOOLBOX.COM you can access so much free information on players, mock drafts etc...I watch video of many of the players as well....The one thing I know (at least in my case).. Knowledge of the many players takes time! Your priorities have to be right in analyzing talent, and realize that athleticism is important, but so is football smarts, work ethic, film study, general intelligence, and the moral fiber of the player among many other things like if the Father was a NFL Player or coach or a close relative. That is one of the things that made me want to see us draft Clay Matthews which was within our reach last year if we desired. As far as the first round pick last year I desperately wanted Bryan Orakapo hands down and he was right there for us and amazingly dropped in our laps. He was also the best available DE in the draft in almost every draft experts evaluation including! Aaron Maybe Maybin was about the 4th rated DE player projected in the draft and one of the key notations was that it was very slender and very underweight for the postion at the NFL level. I know that Lavar Arrignton who played with the Redskins was a friend and mentor to him and that he came from the same college as Poluzinjury, but still affiliation alone wasn't a reason to select him as our top pick! I believe Buddy Nix came into the organization after the draft last year as a scout, and I may or may not be right about that, but he was fairly new and a scout for just the southeast region of the Country. I am sure he had input in that postion, but not the kind of input that he now has. I am hoping that he "really" was a key ingredient and had a major input in the decision making process when he was involved in S.Diego's Draft. San Diego had superior drafts for many years and the upside with Nix is that many credit him with being a major contributor. We also have the good fortune as it seems with hiring D. Whaley into our organization. I am hoping with all these supposed talented individuals and the knowledge that they bring of the NFL That they can get the job done over the course of the next several years. We'll see, but I tell you if you give me the internet, 4 NFL Draft magazines, a coffee pot, a package of multi-purpose paper and a few pins I would give you a more competent draft than this organization has and probably will for the forseeable future!!! The only pick I did project for us that the Bills were wise enough to make was the pick for Jairus Byrd! So yeah for that, but based on all the data so far, and lacking the draft which is important, and the rest of FA I See the Bills taking two steps back initially and a 5-11 record for the upcoming season. If we have a good draft look for an improvement to maybe 8-8 or so the following year (If there is not a lock-out). That third season could be the beginning of something special 10-6/11-5 if the Bills have great drafts over the next 2+ drafts and retain key FA's which they haven't done in much of in the past....Go Bills
  12. The fan in me who desires immediate gratificatiion from our Buffalo Bills hates your post, but the logical thinker in me that realizes that the new personnel people and coaches are not responsible for the past decade except for maybe Tom Modrak that is. Still it's hard to swallow the notion that way probably will have to wait three years to have realistic playoff expectations! I'm not bashing your post at all, because like I said I understand the thinking as long as the Bill's war room can draft the right players and avoid foolish endeavors and blunders of past drafts. IE: Mike Williams and IMO (so far) Aaron Maybin. Maybe in the 3-4 Aaron Maybe Maybin can get his burners lit and be noticed? I just don't like drafting players who are significantly underweight for the position. It's a big man's sport excluding a few skill positions. My biggest concern with the suggested method of building a franchise based solely on the previous decade is that you have to pay your players to stay when their contract is about to expire and re-sign them. Buddy Nix mentioned in his press conference that he rather pay his own players to stay than to acquire new FA's. He mentioned how building a reputation that the Buffalo Bills will retain their players and pay them to stay is important in influencing other players to come to Buffalo when pursued. That also will take time to build and I hope that Buddy Nix will stay true to his word on that issue as losing so many players in FA was painful: A. Winfield, P. Williams, N. Clements, J. Greer, and several others. Each time you lose one you have to develop another one on your roster to fill their shoes, or accept that you have degraded quality at the position with a fill the gap type of player, or you have to find a player in the draft or FA to make up the loss which often means spending the same or more money to replace the player that you didn't want to pay the big bucks for! So, if they pay their players at contract renewal time then I am onboard with their mentality, but I expect the Bills to have a impact draft with no holds barred this year!!!! That means they need to be active in the selection process, move up or down (although I hate moving down for more picks personally), consider trading tradeable players such as Parrish, Lynch and others who may not fit their plans or show the character that a good team displays. They must draft a OLT, QB, NT/DT, WR, LB If we are to take them seriously, or pickup the equivalent in FA. If they fail here than I will definitely be pessimistic about their longterm future based on their initial actions. I know my post is long, but the Bills really are a high maintenence team that will require a great deal of thought and coaching if they are going to move forward and seperate themselves from the mediocrity that they have maintained in the past decade. My 2010-11 prediction: 5 Wins 11 Losses !! Now RALPH, BUDDY, DOUG, TOM, CHAN, RUSS show me that I am wrong!!!! (Please)!
  13. It just goes to show you that the Bills organization really doesn't respect the fanbase here in Buffalo. It has been that way for a while. It really showed when Tom Donahoe was the GM, and continues today in more discreet ways. Last year Trent Edwards mentioned that he wasn't a "Fan" of the Buffalo Bills when answering a question. I don't remember exactly what he said, but to me it seemed like he was implying the irreveleance of a fans knowledge of the game. Last year the Bills scheduled an awards ceremony during the half-time of a Bills game, cancelled it at the last minute, never explained why they cancelled it, and tried to convey that there never was a ceremony scheduled for that game. The organization thinks that fans are not in the know, or knowledgeable about their team. There are many examples of how the Bills show a lack of respect to their fanbase. I personally am not happy about sending "HOME GAMES" to Toronto, and I believe that Russ Brandon tries to camoflage the organizations true intentions with respect to marketing the BUFFALO BILLS in other regions. I'll tell you right now it's not a good thing for us fans!! Just like singing, releasing, signing releasing, singing Klopostein for the third or fourth time in the past couple of years. He's I believe a TE who has very very limited abilities who caught 1 pass for 11 yards in his entire time with the Buffalo Bills ! Then that other guy they just signed...that nameless guy that I can't even remember...lol...he's been with 5 teams in 10 years and didn't even cut it with the Detroit Lions of all teams. So we want to wasted 3yrs for 9 Million dollars on this second rate or third rate player?? Can't they go after any players with at least some sort of proven track record? Buddy Nix believes in building through the draft like you mentioned, and that is great to some extent. The only problem with that mind-set in this organization is that they have holes at LOT, DT/NT, Should have some at QB..But who knows with the Bills?, LB's are undersized generally speaking..., and several other holes and little QUALITY depth on the roster.. They need WR's as well. So why don't we take a good look at a RB in the upcoming draft????????? Also...almost every time we draft a player who becomes a very good player and they become a free agent looking for big bucks we don't compete to keep them! Just a few off the top of my head and there are many more over the past decade are: Jabari Greer, Nate Clements, Antwoine Winfield, and Pat Williams !! Where are we going on this carousel? It seems like more of the same! Where are the deliberate logical steps to get better??????? Are they trying to beat the Bills organization into such submission that the Bills fanbase displays their disgust by not renewing season tickets????? If the Bills play to a half-full stadium they would have every reason to legitamize a move to a bigger market in another city!!!!!!!!!! It sure makes you wonder and question this organizations true intentions?????????????????? Sorry about my lengthy post..but the team I love pizzes me off !!
  14. Good job! It's fun to speculate, so I'll play along and give it my spin... 40% - Bills trade up to get either Suh, Bradford, Russel Okung (sp?), or J. Clausen 40% - Bills stay right where they are in pick the highest rated player on the board that is either a OLT, QB, DT/NT...My guess would be a OLT unless Clausen or Bradford slides down to us. 10% - Bills trade pick for a QB on another team's roster and also receives the other teams pick somewhere in rounds 3-5. 10% - Bills move down to the 15th-22nd pick in the draft and receive another team's 2nd round pick for our 9th overall pick. We pick up a OT in the 1st round and either Leflavor, Pike, or Tebow as our QB in the 2nd round. 0% - I can't see the Bills spending the 1st round pick on a reach! They won't be taking C.J. Spiller in the 1st round as the round stands unless they trade multiple players on their roser including Lynch and maybe Whitner for a 1st rounder. They may feel inclined to get RB C.J. Spiller, but should probably stick to filling which ever one of the Big 3 needs that they haven't filled already in the draft.
  15. ]] Hey we're set now!! Just filled a glaring hole with Klopostein! lol.....He was active for us last year and made that big catch for 11 yards...okay, so it was his only catch of the year! LMAO....We sure have one sorry organization! Did we possibly go from bad to worse? Can we be much worse than we've been? It's obvious this franchise...Ralph Wilson, Russ Brandon, Buddy Nix, Whaley, Modrak and the crew are trying to fill holes with "Very inexpensive" patches, regardless of the talent of the player they sign. I don't expect them to sign a player with the pricetag of Julius Peppers, but get some talent in here anyway you can! The draft may provide 1 to 3 starters at the most! If your philosophy Nix is to build through the draft then you are also telling us with as many glaring holes we have to fill...that we are going to have to wait to at least year 3 before we can put a playoff caliber team on the field !! By then, based on past performance of this organization we will lose some key players that become UFA because we won't shell out the big bucks. There is no rebuttle to this arguement as the examples are overflowing ie: Antwoine Winfield ! Pat Williams ! Nate Clements ! Jabari Greer ! and many others!!!!!!!!
  16. Just way too long for a blog! I have the same tendancy and now I know what people mean when I do this! That's why I only read a couple of lines and stopped! That's why not too many people normally respond to my blogs! Well before I do what the guy above me did...I'm going to tackle it and end it by saying that I thought that Josh Reed was a okay to good player and that I believe the QB problem had to do with his lack of production last year than anything else!
  17. Thank God! It took a while for me to see a post that I agreed with!! Yes, maybe Spiller is good or great, but like you are saying we have other positions that are of much greater need! Yes, a OLT is huge...and I agree a QB no doubt...to the point where I would draft one, and get one in FA as well and dump or trade Edwards and maybe Brohm or Fitzy. But I doubt there is much of a demand for any of our QB's which tells you their true worth to our organization. I think we also need to get a DT/NT and a WR as well....Always could use another LB..especially if Schoebel retires! I think CB and RB are probably the two positions that we shouldn't draft for unless the talent level of a RB is just so superior to the other players yet to be drafted that it's a no-brainer. Good Post!!!
  18. That's just too bad! All the money these guys make they should jump if they are told to jump and play NT if they are asked to play NT. They all think it's about them, and unfortunately the team loses out in the end, which means everyone loses. Some teams realize this like N.England, Indy, Pittsburgh. Indy players were hurt about not playing starters their final 2 games of the year that could have given them a perfect season. Instead, the players generally kept their mouths shut, and did as instructed. Even though they didn't like it they knew their coach believed this would give them a better opportunity to go to the Superbowl! They may have lossed the S.Bowl but they believed in working towards their ultimate goal as a team and it almost played out that way! Indy has some marginal players in some position, and some marquee players as well like Manning, but they are a great team! They are committed to the team and are willing to make sacrifices, unlike Stroud, Unlike Lynch and unlike several players in the Bills organization. Until the mentality of this team is upgraded along with their talent level this team is a sub .500 team. I aniticpate that this team will suffer dramatically this year with the 3-4 shift and I don't expect more than 5 wins. The following year maybe back to 6 or 7 wins. It will be a crucial third year where the Bills with spectacular drafting and personnel moves has the potential to be a 9-11 win team if the pieces fall into place, and this team begins to play unselfishly as a team for a change. Players like Lynch, Parrish, Whitner, Edwards, will be long gone and a distint memory by then. You remember those names and in three years they won't be there...maybe as soon as this year on all accounts, but I doubt it. This team is a major rebuilding project despite Buddy Nix saying that they are not really all that far away! They couldn't be further!! Stroud will be long gone by then as well anyways!
  19. Huh???? Edwards flat out stunk up the joint last year! Fitz was bittersweet with occasional highlight throws downfield! Brohm, He was terrible in his only performance and struggles with an NFL playbook. If we're starting fresh why would we resort to an attitude that a player wouldn't be all that bad? He wasn't all that good either! T.O. in his prime was awesome, but he conserves energy by taking plays off, and if the ball isn't right within reach he doesn't go to the ball...He dropped an awful lot of balls last year especially early in the season. And if no one wants him....Just why should we want a player that the rest of the leaugue finds undesirable?????
  20. I love Buffalo because I'm from here, but I don't know why anyone would want to leave Ohio to come to New York State? Taxes...Weather....Gov. Patterson....more Taxes...our Bills (of the past decade and beyond)....Guess it must be those Chicken Wings? lol
  21. I saw this Mock wonder! and then I wondered....how could you claim to even know the Bills as a team and not pick a OLT in either the 1st or 2nd round???? What the heck guy?? Also RB can be supplemented easily through FA's if they were to trade Lynch...but If we kept both Lynch and F. Jackson what the heck would you draft a RB for...especially in the 3rd round??? I don't get it!! Not at all!!!! We have drafted a DE last year at the top of our draft and the year before Chris Ellis DE in maybe the 3rd round! It's not as pressing as QB, OT, DT/NT !! We need LB's too to fit the 3/4 defense which may be actually a good pick but I still would satisfy my OLT, DT/NT, QB needs all in the first 3 rounds before LB's, DE'S, and especially RB's....I am thankful today that you do not making personnel decisions for the Bills....Maybe bravinSeattle u should work on the Seattle Seahawks roster as you don't know ours! Thanks for playing!!
  22. Duh dude just a heads up; April Fools jokes are next month! It's amazing when someone is making up bs they can never divulge their source! I heard from a friend who is friends with this guy who knows a guy that is a 3rd cousin to a guy who lives down the road from a bar where he though he overheard a friend of Brady Quinn say that Brady was packing his bags and heading east this weekend. He also told me that Brady was munching on Buffalo wings when he may have winked when someone asked him if he is going to be a brown next year and replied "I sure love Buffalo Wings", so I guess that means he's going to sign with the Bills this weekend for sure!!! As idiotic as my scenario is it's more believable than your dribble!! Have another dude!
  23. Well I liked your blog which seemed well thought out and also persuasive! I don't know for sure that I totally agree with it in the confines of the Bills organization. I think in theory you are correct and that building through the draft alone for some teams nets them great results after probably about 3 years. I just am concerned about the track record that we have had in the past decade on drafting players. I know that Buddy Nix and Doug Whaley should do better? I know they have been successful in Sandiego/Pittsburgh...So hopefully that trend will continue into our draft. Another concern I have with living and dying with the draft is that we are slated for 9 picks, but 4 of them are 6th & 7th rounders! I would think that we'd be lucky to have 3 of the other 5 players drafted to be highly productive at their position. Look at Hardy, Maybin, Pozinjury, who the team had high expectations of, but because of either injury or lack of having the IT factor...so far they have been a disappointment. Another real problem the Bills have had that will be interesting to see if Buddy Nix can remedy is that the Bills fail to retain some of their top players and re-sign them...so they end up losing them in Free agency...Just a few to ponder: Nate Clements, A. Winfield, Jabari Greer, Pat Williams, and I know there are several others. There is no future in teaching your young players, developing them, and then they mature into real good players, and all of the sudden you lose them to free agency...makes another hole in the roster and creates a need to draft another CB, or OLT, or DT or whatever...but it also keeps you from continuing to strengthen and assembling your team when you are just filling holes that is self-created. I know Buddy Nix said he'd rather spend the money to keep his players, and when they get more quality players I would agree with him, but I don't know if I would like to keep many of these players!! I think some of the younger free agents with some upside that haven't had the opportunity to start may be available in free agency and we probably should scoop up about 4 of them and see if we can fill some holes prior to the draft.
  24. Hey I was with you until you got near the end and from #2 on I just didn't agree with what you were saying or how you put it!! After 10 consecutive years of shoveling crap around and having a losing record and a decade long playoff drought I would welcome a division title and embrace it wholeheartedly!!! I don't care if it seems like a facade or not to you!! If you win the division or make the playoffs anything can happen...but to keep stepping in mushy crap every year like the Bills do you are not going to have happy feet! I think the rebuilding solution is to draft carefully and shrewdly like Polian did when he craftfully assembled the Colts in the mold of the 90's Bills. You also carefully target a few young FA that may not be the big named Julius Peppers...but young players, that have some upside and have not had the opportunity to fully showcase their talent as marquee starters. I agree, if the QB is there early on you grab him as he's your General and good teams have to have a effective QB leading the offense. You also would draft or grab a FA OLT if you like one to protect your QB's, and maybe find a FA QB as well to play until your Rookie QB gets his NFL Legs and the playbook down. The Bills need to find a NT for the 3/4 defense and need to get one or two more LB's as well....If you can offload some of the players who are non-productive or are more bother than they are worth like Lynch that would be wise...especially if you can get some ammo for them like draftpicks. I agree that it is not a one year and done proposition, but I'll take a good year next year neverless! New England drafts better than the Bills every year even though they draft near the bottom or at the bottom of the rotation every year. So, I don't buy into the theory that if the Bills win now...they will screw up their draft next year. Indy, Pittsburgh, N.England and other winning clubs have a winning climate, attitude, and personnel departments that know how to analyze what pieces of the puzzle are needed, and unlike the Bills they go out and fill the void. Are void is almost a bottomless pit as it our situation becomes more dire each year. Another key to us succeeding isn't just drafting the right players and picking up a few FA's that suit our needs, but it is also retaining the players we value and to make sure that the worthy players are paid and extend their contracts to avoid becoming UFA's and open to the market like Nate Clements, Antwoine Winfield, Pat Williams, Jabari Greer, and many others have been. It's a quick exit out of town and another void to fill on our team... As long as we're talking the number system..... 1. You have to determine what positions need upgrading, starters, and depth players. 2. You have to target players in the draft and FA's that meet the criteria you are looking for. 3. You have to make a financial offer that is reasonable for prospective FA's and lock up your rookies so they don't miss Mini-camp. 4. You have to ensure you purge any players on the roster that are undesirable before the draft to identify any other holes you may have.
