I'm fine with what you stated, and would be happy with Levi Brown starting in '11 if there isn't a lockout...I was just thinking that Fitz would be the odd man out this year. My reasoning is that Fitz is a career backup QB..(I actually like him better than T. Edwards)..But, I think the organization doesn't want to give up on T.E. just yet, and I figured that they would want to lean in the direction of youth and potential with both Brown and Brohm...as we already know (more so than any other QB on our roster), what Fitzpatrick can and can't do. Brohm being young and green still has some unknown factors even though he has lacked the ability so far to fully digest a NFL playbook. I really think they should've reached outside of the organization to bring in at least one other QB to enhance competition than going with the deadwood that we've dealt with the past couple of years! I have a feeling that Trent Edwards will be the starter this year even though I am dreading that likelihood. I guess it is what it is and will be what it will be despite my views and what I want to happen... 5-11 2010 prediction! Hope I'm wrong..

Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
tonyjustbcuz replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! I have Time Warner which I don't think offers that package, but even if it did at that price I would decline...I think if I'm going to spend that kind of money I would be more inclined to buy Bill's season tickets. If I bought one season ticket in the cheap seats it would probably be just slightly more. But, they know they gottcha! because most people are going to buy at least 2 season tickets. I think if the Bills fail to improve I may end up going to the U.B. Bulls football games as they seem to be an exciting team, and although it's a different level of play...the past couple of years you just can't question the effort of their players, staff, and the organizations intentions to continually improve...you just can't beat the price of their tickets either !! -
All good points that I agree with...I did want to trade him..now I think that making an example of him would be better..If he don't want to show up and practice/play when it becomes mandatory then he likely won't get paid neither which serves him right! Hope you saved the $20. you stole from the lady at Applebees! I wouldn't give that jerk an inch..and I don't know how long remains on his contract, but I hope it's multiple years and you know he's going to come back and try to sweet talk us like he did when he first came here about being a Momma's boy and all that hoopla! Lynch seems like an arrogant punk in my opinion and as far as I'm concerned after we teach him a lesson we should send him and his gold tooth packing to some other place that's cold like Green Bay!

Next Buffalo Bills QB to throw for 300 yards?
tonyjustbcuz replied to yall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know exactly what you mean! With pure optimism, some immediate gelling on the lines, and some luck the most I could see is 5-5 and that's a long shot in the first 10 weeks! Realistically I think we'll be around 3-7....I think we'll have a good chance at beating the Jaguars, Lions, Chiefs...possibly the Bears if we win 4 games. I just don't see us beating the Dolphins week#1 (but stranger things have happened..), I also don't see us beating the Pakers, Patriots away..either. You never know with the Jets, but they are really stocking up on talented players. I'll stick with my 5-11 for the season right now, but it's early and that may change depending on many factors. -
Does the Wang injury force a move?
tonyjustbcuz replied to BuffaloBlood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know Wang alone forces Buffalo's hand, but in my opinion I think they should try to add talent at every opportunity to the Offensive line, especially at left tackle when the opportunity presents itself. I think they should try to trade Lynch for Gaither even up as Lynch could become a very good to great running back if he gains some mental maturity. I think Gaither is good to very good and would fit Buffalo's needs. He obviously isn't a good enough all-around player for Baltimore to bypass drafting Michael Oher 2 yrs ago, but he is an obvious upgrade to what we have currently on our roster. Baltimore feels that he only fits at Right tackle on their roster and during his absence the Ravens had a couple players step-in and impress the coaching staff making Gaither expendible. I think this trade would be valuable to both clubs, and Lynch may have more upside in the long-term. I think that there is a reluctance on Baltimore's part to trade with Buffalo, as the Willis McGahee deal really hasn't panned out as well as Baltimore had hoped for. I think that Baltimore realizes that their defense is of championship caliber, and that they need to continue to improve on offense. I think that Lynch could potentially be an added dimension to Baltimore's offensive dynamics. I feel that Buffalo may have some reservations on trading for Gaither as there have been whispers about him lacking in work ethic and having an attitude similar to Jason Peters. The first thing that Gaither's agent will attempt to do after Gaither is traded is to seek a new contract. The big bucks that left tackles demand in the NFL may may be more than the Bills are willing to spend on a roster that is young, rebuilding, and still missing parts. This may be the very reason that I would want to land Gaither in a trade. It comes down to risk versus reward, and this is the same reason why the Bills waited until late in the draft to select a QB instead of selecting one of the front-runner QB's that were available in the draft. They instead made a more conservative, safe pick instead of spending big money on a 1st or 2nd round QB that could be the next Jim Kelly or a bust in the likes of Ryan Leaf. I don't see the Bills actually making this trade with Baltimore. I believe which ever team blinks first loses in a trade of Lynch for Gaither, and I could see Baltimore asking for an additional draft pick besides Lynch or next year's 2nd round pick instead of a player, which has already been established in previous reports. Either way trading for Gaither is a balzy move, and there is an element of risk involved, just like any trade. I really believe Buddy Nix is trying to build almost solely through the draft process, and if that approach works it will require patience, and time. I believe the Bills could become playoff capable in 2012 based on that philosophy...providing they retain their better players and pay to keep them here, rather than losing them in free agency. . Here is my guess as to what the Bills are really doing in regards to Lynch, think the Bills are going to hang on to Lynch until a team in the league sustains a RB injury on it's roster. I think the Bills realize that eventually there will be a need for a RB somewhere, and when that need arises that the Bills will hold the advantage and be able to demand the second round draft pick for 2011 that they covet for Lynch's services. It's poker time at One Bills Drive!!! -
A 4 to 6 oz. glass of Manischewitz wine and sunflower seeds! or water...not so exciting, "but it is what it is." But, when the Bills finally win the Lombardi Trophy, it'll be a big bottle of Champagne!!!! Let's go Bills !!

I have 4 children and can understand somewhat, but after all it was a "free" open "practice" and maybe your expectations (like mine sometimes) was greater than the event itself. I thought about bringing my 3 yr old boy and 10 yr old daughter but realized in advance that after 15 min. they would've been complaining how boring this June football practice really was to watch on a warm day. You could've brought the kids for Ice Cream after practice as well, as that's what I probably would've done. There is a couple of Chalaps Icecream places around...Dairy Queen etc..... I hope with all the complaining and incomplete "f" words you are at least a season ticket holder! Have a feeling that your not and your just trying to make a big tadoo out of a Bill's practice which you were fortunate enough to see! Hope your kids had fun anyways......Good luck!

Were Bills interested in Tebow?
tonyjustbcuz replied to mpl6876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll have to wait for a full season is under our belt to be able to analyze just what direction we are heading. It easy to make a rash judgement based on some unknown factor like the Tebow story or after winning a short string of games like we did a couple of years ago when we started 4-0 and then 5-1, but finished 7-9..Everyone, including myself had all these happy feelings about where we were and where we were headed. All of the sudden Levy was a genius, Edwards was a franchise QB, and whispers of the Superbowl, and confidence that we would make the playoffs that year was a given. We know how ugly it turned out to be from there and that this organization was not headed in the right direction, but if you would have polled everyone right then and there you would have been just as ready to sign Dick Jauron up for another 3 year extension on his contract just like Ralph did!!! It was unneccessary to do that, but Ralph was just as caught up, and fooled as we all were!! I think judgement day will require the full 2010 season to conclude if the new Bills front office is heading in the right direction, and if we have a future franchise QB or not (which I am skeptical on that one!)..... -
Hope your right about the Patriots, but I have my reservations. The Patriots, at least to this point have outcoached us, not to mention they have a better talent pool, including QB & WR and the line positions as well. We may have surpassed them in CB's I don't know...I would love a victory or of course two against them, but Belicheck wins them a lot of close games typically. I think the Jets have really stocked the cupboards and I'd be surprised if we beat them this year. I think, and I hope I'm wrong we are probably looking at 1-6 in the division with the best case scenario being 2-6. I hope your right, and I'm wrong, but I can't see a even split in the division just quite yet while the entire roster has to gel, really get to know the playbook like the back of their hand, and get several injured players back to the roster, find a consistent (consistently good) QB and WR's as well.....Hope your right!

I am concerned, I am trying to stay positive regarding the Bill's upcoming season, but unless I'm kidding myself I see two good chances for victory and the first half of the season and maybe they'll steal one somewhere in the mix. I think the Bills have a good chance of beating Jacksonville and also Kansas City in the first half of the season. I wouldn't call either game a lock, but staying optimistic, and remaining true to realism I think the Bills will start out somewhere between 1-7 and 3-5 in the first half of the season. I am going to look more at the second half of the season, and take into consideration that the Bill's rookies, and new acquisitions, coaches, and having the team to begin to gel and understand the playbook much better in the second half of the season will begin to reflect on the total wins for the year. At first glance I am thinking that the Bill's could go 4-4 in the second half of the season and be on the upswing! I think if you evaluate fairly...it will fall somewhere between 4-12 and 7-9. I am going to go with 5-11 as I have all off-season with an eye on the injury report. If the majority of the 10 or so guys that are still recovering from injuries/surgeries etc. return to participate fully in practices I may bump my prediction up slightly. Go Bills Anyways, What do you think?? How many wins first half season??? Who?? Why?? and what about the second half season?? and Total for the year??

I fine if he comes back for another year, just would hope that it would be for about 3 million vice 6 million...but it isn't my money...so just get him back here! I don't see where we have any proven starter beyond Lee Evans and not very much depth or experience..Just a bunch of hopefuls which is okay I guess...S. Johnson, J. Hardy, the rookie Easley, Roosevelt, and a couple of others I guess...Yeah, you better get T.O. back before someone else gets him!

What is right with the Buffalo Bills !!!!
tonyjustbcuz replied to tonyjustbcuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your welcome, but in 2 hours...I have to decide if I want to revert back to my old, miserable, know-it-all, pessimistic, pathetic, self and spread the negativity I have devoted myself to for the past several years, or be the equally pathetic, slap me in the face, I'll still wag my tail, and buy more tickets, (even though the picture enclosed with my season ticket renewal form is our punter doing what he does best in that miserable loss to the Cleveland Browns) kind of guy!! I think the next topic should be an easy one! Our your a optimist or negative about the Bills upcoming season, and take a talley of which is the more popular choice! I don't know how the vote thing works when setting up a topic...so if I can't figure it out and you don't see Vote....Are you optimistic or negative about the upcoming Bill's season...then feel free to start that topic if your inclined and you think it's worthy. As we wind down, after 22 hours of being positive I'm mixed on who I want to be...Mr. Optimist/ Mr. Negativity ??? But, it was a little more fun getting into it with some compassionate Bills fans who will fight to death for the team some adore and Love OR The team you love to hate, but still Love !!! Either way, Thanks for participating everyone!!!! Could be the last thumbs up you might see if I change back at Midnight!!! -
What is right with the Buffalo Bills !!!!
tonyjustbcuz replied to tonyjustbcuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Trent or whomever becomes the starter this year does a great job at QB, and at crunch time when the Bills are down they lift the Bills up and motivate the offense on the sideline prior to taking the field for the final series of the game, and then lead the team to victory in those close games! It seems like we lose 5 or 6 games a year that we have said...we let that one slip away! Well, maybe this year we'll win 4 of those on top of my (old prediction 5-11) to give us 9 wins this year!!! So I am going to think positive and predict an alarming 9-7 this year as the Bill's Circle the Wagons for the first time in a long time!!! And, I'll even go on the ledge to predict the Bills will somehow get the final wild-card spot at 9 wins even though it often takes 10 wins to get in ! Now, that is optimism!Bills 2010 prediction increased to:9-7 ! -

You accentuated the positive even better than I did, and I appreciate it!! It feels better looking at a full-glass of lelmonade on a hot day than a bag of lemons in the fridge that are beginning to spoil ! Maybe I'll continue looking at the Bill's in a positive sense tomorrow as well, and see if this good feeling continues? Thanks, -

Not a problem... I agree, there isn't really anything to complain about as the Bills haven't even snapped the ball for real in a game...I guess that's just the point, that I am trying to "learn" after a tough decade to wipe the loser mentality off our shoulders and try to think positive and feel positive about the future of the Bills. I coul've posted about all the things that I thought the Bills did this off-season, that IMO were incorrect, but I am trying to concentrate on the things they did right and try and look at it as "It's the managements job to build the Bills...and they must have knowlege of the game...and know what their doing...So I should try and give them a chance to build the Bills in the image of the team they want them to become.....before overanalyzing...and bashing their every move. So what I'm saying is I agree....and I am also trying not to be a complainer...and your right, there very well may not be nothing but praise due the Bills...Hopefully that will be the case. -
Wow, I'm surprised at the responses of my topic!! Great job everyone...this is a good post that I'm reading so I'll add my 2 cents as well.... Yeah, I don't like the Flyers as a team because of our difficulty with them in the past...especially '74-75 Finals...but if I was a neutral fan..I would like the broadstreet bullies...I like their toughness historically, and boy I really love the colors of their uniform...and the emblem is nice..and I don't think they have changed substantially over the years...the colors are aggressive and really go together well...I wouldn't want them to change their uniforms at all if I were a flyers fan!! Didn't the Bruins have a bear on the front of their uniform a few years back??? They were some funky uniform that I didn't like at all? Was it their 3rd uniform??? Maybe I'm hallucinating, but I thought they had an odd uniform a while back? Have to agree, Montreal's uniform is gret, the Yankees as well, although there is a uniform that the Jets have that I think looks stupid in my opinion...it looks a little bit like the Pittsburgh Steelers uniform! Anybody know which one I'm talking about???

I'm trying to not be "negative" and see how the other half feels. So, let me say in a nice, kum bah yay way instead of my normal sarcasm...Please have a Good night and God bless you! Go Bills Go! -
What is right with the Buffalo Bills !!!!
tonyjustbcuz replied to tonyjustbcuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are going to be vastly improved this year according to me! The reasons for their marked improvement will follow below...... #1 The Bills released Dick Jauron, who seemed like he would make a real nice neighbor, school teacher, or doctor, but he sure didn't seemed to have that motivational factor or know how to throw a flag......(sorry about negativity on D.J. I'm still working on improving). #2 The Bills released the rest of D.J.'s coaching staff which means we will have new Offensive and Defensive Coordinators. #3 The Bills year in and year out have some really good cornerbacks and they should only continue to get better with maturity. #4 The Bills have one of the best (maybe the best) tandem of running backs in the leaugue. There is a back for every occasion. Lynch with power, Jackson with shifty moves, and a back like Spiller that can catch, run, and even play special teams. #5 The Bills now have to weight trainers which should help in conditioning of the players. The Bills should improve on the injury front as it has been brutal in the past, but this isn't the past and we will do better in this important area. #6 The Bills drafted a player at OT that they believe in when they choose Wang the first Chinese American in the NFL. Not only should Wang add depth at the Offensive line position, but he will bring with him much press and a strong following not only in the U.S. but in China as well. #7. This is the year that several young players should begin to come into their own and add another dimension to the Bills. James Hardy should be just about healthy and ready to impact the WR positon, along with Stevie Johnson who has been a pre-season wonder boy in past years and just needs to bring the same production to the regular season. Aaron Maybin should be more comfortable in the OLB positon which is better suited to his skills. Brian Brohm or Trent Edwards may bust out and have a strong season. Leodis McKelvin should improve greatly with a year under his belt. He made several big plays last season, but made some bad mistakes as well which he should grow from. Look for great things with him. #8. If Trent Edwards does start this season, he should be able to take the lessons learned from the previous seasons and let them fuel his fire! The coaching staff really showed a big vote of confidence on him by passing on a QB until the 7th round of the draft. #9. The DE positon should be vastly improved this season between the FA acquisition we made in the off-season...and Chris Ellis should finally come around in his 3rd season as a defensive end. #10. Doug Whaley was a valuable pickup from the Pittsuburgh Steelers and should help make are Personnel office more formidable. #11. The coaching staff is mostly all from Georgia Tech and should be able to implement their team philosophy fairly easy since they have all worked together in the past. #12. The Bills should do better defensively now that they have switched to the 3-4 defense. There may be an adjustment period for them to gel, but once they do the Bills will have a much greater chance of beating their divisional opponents. #13. All the Bills games are scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at home and their are no night games or MNF games to distract the Bills. #14. The red flag to review a play won't be in D.J.'s pants pocket this year, so it shouldn't get stuck when it needs to be thrown...lol #15. Eric Wood seems to be on schedule with his recovery, and with good luck will be on the Bill's opening day roster! Okay, I'm running out of gas with all this happy, positive stuff and need someone to pick up the ball and continue running with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!
