  1. If memory serves, he left when Ryan was hired. It is not inconceivable that he is biding his time working for the NFL until Ryan flames out in Buffalo. Who knows.
  2. If Manuel plays, and he plays like he did yesterday which was like a decent NFL backup which is what he is, Shady and the rest of the team play as they did yesterday they beat the Jags. Losing to the Jags would indicate the team has given up. I just don't see that happening at all. And I've never ever been accused of being a homer
  3. FiveThirtyEight sees a 8-8 record. But they are not Billievers
  4. It takes all kinds and it's all in good fun after all. Remember back to when there were threads and posts here by Bills fans that had no doubt in their minds that the Bills were going to make the Pats their B word a few weeks ago. It happens
  5. This is the NFL though, so you cannot have a rule that makes sense and is easy to enforce. So the rule would have to be along the lines of you cannot grab the jersey within 7.1682738 inches of the collar.
  6. Sensors can be so small and flexible these days the players wouldn't even know they were there.
  7. Just looked at the injury report http://www.buffalobills.com/team/injury-report.html?campaign=fb_buf_page Karlos out Harvin, Taylor, Watkins questionable Even with Shady probable, he almost can't be 100% Bungles 24-16
  8. So would Rex I'm sure
  9. Years ago when you could still do this, I had a smartcard writer and I changed my zipcode on the card to one in Utica. Bada bing, no blackout. Had to change it back after the game though or I would be stuck watching Utica local news instead of Rochesters
  10. What would be really nice if there were two separate audio tracks that you could switch on/off independently. One containing the announcers, and the other everything else.
  11. You are hanging right in there. Only 1 model ahead of you and two tied
  12. Classified as a secondary market for the Bills.
  13. I rarely accept excuses, but being down your starting QB is a very tough cross to bear for ANY team. And if you look at how close the models have the game, and the discrepancy between them and the humans making their selections, you see just how much the QB means to them as well (humans know TT is hurt whereas the models do not). You are welcome! I don't gamble either. My main interest is in how the models do versus their human "expert" counterparts
  14. One network, ESPN I think, has experimented with no announcers in the past. Hockey for sure, not sure if anyone ever tried it with football. I remember enjoying it at the time but it must not have been very popular because it didn't seem to catch on. Probably because most fans enjoy homer bias.
  15. Thanks. One lazy person on ESPN still to go.
  16. I brought my son to his first game when he was 10 or 11, spent all morning at the Pinto and it was fine. In fact all of the people there, before as well as after the game, went out of their way to make sure he was well fed (his favorites were the pizza and the bacon cooked on the Pinto, and still are! ) and taken care of. Of course you will see drunks there, it is a Bills home game after all. If you tailgate at all you are bound to see that. And the ketchup ceremony, how could any father not let his son experience that at least once
  17. The biggest thing is to set your weather app for Orchard Park, not Buffalo. The weather can be fairly different, believe it or not. But when the temp is in the low 40's with a 80% chance of precipitation, what you tend to end up with is a mix of rain sleet and maybe a few snow flakes. Not as bad as it sounds, IF you are dressed appropriately. If you are not it can be a miserable experience (not unlike losing badly to the Pats ).
  18. Cue Dr. FeelGood with his magic needle
  19. And make sure your family is dressed properly ... "wintery mix" rain/sleet/a-few-flakes and cold (by Virginia standards anyway) is forecast so they will need to stay dry and warm
  20. Yeah the Buffalo weather could come to the aid of the Bills if that "wintery mix" shows up like they are saying it will. Take Dalton right out of the game. If that weather does hit, and Karlos can play it really helps the Bills chances. Holding off on my prediction until I can get a better feel for both of those factors (yeah I'm a chicken ****, I know )
  21. People are going to try and talk themselves into whatever they like, that's human nature. But Roman and Ryan picked Taylor over Manuel for a reason, that reason being that in their opinion Taylor gives them the better chance of winning overall. Period. Even when Taylor was obviously banged up Sunday after the pseudo horse collar, they put Manuel in for one play only and it was a simple hand off. Even now after signing a QB off the street, Ryan is still holding out hope that Taylor can still play Sunday. It is exceptionally clear that Roman and Ryan don't view Manuel as an upgrade ... in any regard.
  22. I didn't like any of the choices so I didn't vote, For me, he is the Bills starting QB this weekend so he has my support.
