I'll be with the kids so we are planning on "Breakfast with the Bills". Eggs, bacon, french toast and so on. Might sneak in a virgin bloody Mary that is a little slutty Looking forward to it
Rochester is considered a secondary market versus Buffalo is what they term the primary market. There have been other times that the game was on in Buffalo but not Rochester. Not many, but some.
Exclusivity has been what the NFL has been doing for many years with the Sunday ticket being exclusively on DirectTV.
Bottom line, the NFL will do whatever makes them the most money. As is their right, being it is their business and product (publicly funded stadiums and anti-trust exemption not withstanding).
Yeah but I dare to dream. I was at the game a few years ago when high winds took out a transformer so TV could not broadcast for almost the entire game. It was so wonderful without all the delays.
So, does not being broadcast on TV mean no TV timeouts after each TD, possession and so on? Could it be that the game will be over in 90ish minutes and won't be painfully slow with all the delays? Would probably hold the interest of the Brits better that way. Or is Yahoo running ads?
I have a Chromecast and hate it (caveat I don't do it from a phone). Others here love it so YMMV. But the FireTV stick is great, and yes the FireTV stick runs the Yahoo app itself whereas the Chromecast needs something on your network to "cast" the feed to it. Be it your phone or the Chrome browser on your desktop/tablet. Hense Chrome Cast
I really like the firetv stick. Only shortcoming is that unlike the Chromecast which you can plug into the wall for power or to a USB port on your TV, the FireTV stick needs wall power.
Otherwise though it's great.
I still don't see the Bills game showing up anywhere inside the Yahoo app yet though.
I honestly can't see that happening. If the defense can't win this game, against the freaking Jags, then the Bills really are in trouble. Plus, EJ performed like a capable backup last week, and has had another week of 1st team reps under his belt.
They pick straight up. But if you look on the page they do show what they call the ELO Point Spread. Which for this week is Bills -8 versus the betting spread which is Bills -4.5.
But 3.5 points is pretty tight considering the model doesn't know about injuries etc. Bet that at your own risk
Buy a FireTV stick from Amazon ($40) or some other capable device, or laptop/tablet I'd have to guess.
Quite frankly if I didn't have a firetv stick already I'd just hook up my laptop to the TV via HDMI.
And if you live with any wifi power users like I do, set your router to block wifi for everything except your device during the game.
Yeah my wife is going to be pissed but she will get over it
That's just Rex. He runs his mouth and says what the fans want to hear. Paints his pickup and so on. Did the same things with the Jets. That's all part of the Rex Ryan package.
From the Yahoo web page:
Roku
Press the Home button on the Roku's remote control. Select the Web Video category button in main menu. Select the Yahoo app.
DirectTv will skate because all they have to do is claim that the NFL denied them access to the feed, which I'm sure is true.
It's the NFL, if anyone, that is culpable for this.
9:30 eastern is 8:30 central which is what Chicago is on.
Plus it is only on Yahoo via streaming so who knows what bars will be doing that so early on a Sunday morning for 1 game, and the Bills Jags at that.
Probably better off bringing a device like a FireTV or laptop/tablet or the like with you and watching it in your room over the hotels wifi.
Or asking for the kindness of a Chicago based Bills fan to let you intrude early Sunday
