  1. There is no need to. The franchise is very profitable regardless of what the Buffalo News or any other outlet might say about them. Why would they change?
  2. Neither has shown anything close to being a savant at anything football related.
  3. It is a performance based business, but not performance on the field. Rather it's how it performs financially that matters. For example, how long has it been since the Bills have been more than a mediocre team? Yet they continue to sell large numbers of season tickets, merchandise, and have a rabid cult-like following that is seemingly in no way tied to on field performance. As long as the Bills are in Buffalo they will be financially successful.
  4. What you are referring to I think is a team with a winning history. They are used to winning, and to making decisions that allow them to continue to win both now and years from now. A win now mentality has the stink of desperation to it that forces teams to gamble their future in a generally reckless manner. That's the difference I think.
  5. To me it means not thinking at all about anything but the next/current season. For example, give up whatever future draft picks you have to in order to get players you think can give you a winning season now. Also commonly referred to as mortgaging the future. It is shortsighted by it's very definition and stupid. But desperate coaches and front office people might fall into this hole if they figure their jobs may be on the line. I don't get the feeling the Bills are in this mode despite some recent decisions the past few seasons.
  6. Very likely true, but since this information comes from the same people that determined that a certain draft picks shoulder was not a problem ...
  7. I do. But apparently the OP does not assuming everyone would be under your vs. Can't argue with WGR being there mind you
  8. Ok then, tell them how they should interpret todays news, you know in a non-negative way. Educate the negative masses instead of just whining about them.
  9. So, history does repeat itself then.
  10. Rex is as capable of leaning his lesson as Donald Trump is. Rex is what he is, and I have no doubt he believes in what he did last season, and every season he has been a coach. We will see the same Rex as long as he is the coach of the Bills, for better of for worse.
  11. Can't happen. It would mean fewer TV commercials and they can't have that. If fact they probably need to add a few more timeouts or something to get more commercials.
  12. It's been proven year after year, particularly the past 16 The Bills do not have to be any good to have great season ticket sales. They just have to be in Buffalo.
  13. You can remove the drunken part as well. A lot of people go for the event, with or without drinking. They just truly enjoy the experience regardless of the quality of the play.
  14. He has enough money to get out of it. Will King Roger let him skate is the question. He almost can't after giving Big Ben a few games without even being arrested.
  15. Give us your money, then drink until you don't care about the score.
  16. 32 teams comprise the NFL for gods sake, you obviously know that by now and are just being deliberately obtuse. Yes I do watch from my couch 99.9% of the time. And as a matter of fact, I record it and strip out the 2 hours of commercials as well and watch it when I want to. If that is somehow on topic. Absolutely, as is the guy setting the price for his recording. And whether or not the NFL pays it, or tells him to F off is up to them.
  17. 'Reasonable' is subjective. Here are the top 10 average ticket prices in the NFL (2013-2014), not even including the crazy business of paying for a license to be able to buy the tickets. None of these seem reasonable to me to watch 1 football game. 10. Dallas $209 9. Baltimore $220 8. Seattle $220 7. Pittsburgh $221 6. New Orleans $225 5. Denver $227 4. Green Bay $245 3. New England $277 2. Chicago $282 1. New York Giants $292 I can't imagine anyone thinks $292 as an average price to watch one game is reasonable, but this guy trying to get paid big by the NFL, whose history of milking any and every revenue stream for every penny possible is the stuff of legends, for his rare recording is unreasonable. http://www.therichest.com/sports/football-sports/top-10-most-expensive-tickets-in-the-nfl/?view=all
  18. The casual fan is going to be bored by that game. They want offense which they can get excited about. Three plays, even three well done defensive plays, and a punt not so much. It was on TV where I was, but I honestly didn't pay much attention. I am happy though that Manning can now go out on top. More and more people seem to be just casual fans of football anymore.
  19. Apparently not going to happen. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-colin-kaepernick-does-not-want-to-play-for-jets/ar-BBp5br8?ocid=ansmsnsports11
  20. Does the NFL have a financial stake in it? If not, would they try and kill it or treat it as a development league?
  21. From 538 ... And a ELO point spread of 2.5.
  22. My thought is to make the game as safe as possible would require getting rid of the helmet and all pads, except for the cup. But it wouldn't be anywhere near the same game, or nearly as popular, if the players weren't using their bodies as weapons at full speed.
  23. Wait .... what .... how ... where ... I may have to rethink everything I thought I understood about men, women, god and the universe.
  24. My take on it is more of a teen-aged girl who got stood up for the prom ... but yeah. Pretty amazing how much angst there still is about this guy with some Bills fans.
