Adam Schefter: Rex Ryan to be fired end of season
CodeMonkey replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have been mediocre, at best, for 18 years. Ticket sales will certainly not grind to a halt, or even decrease much now no matter what OBD decides. You overestimate, in my opinion, the average Bills fans requirement of a winner. Look at the entire history of the Bills, and even the Sabres. The average Bills fan requires only that the team stay in Buffalo to be loyal and financially support the team. You can argue if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it is a thing. -
Sure, give the public what they want in order to get them to frequent your business makes perfect sense. Except in this case the fans are going to buy tickets either way, IMO anyway.

I'm sure you are right about where they will draft win or lose, plus the Bills haven't exactly been setting the world on fire with their drafting anyway. The only real advantage I can see is for the fire Wrecks crowd. Being the only team to lose to Cleveland may be the straw that broke the Pegulas back and force them to fire him. Particularly if they play to win, i.e. play TT. -
Boy if the head coaching decision is decided this way, the Bills are far worse off than I thought. But it would explain a lot about the last 17 years.
-
How will they realize that? You don't seriously think the number of season tickets sold will go down significantly next season, do you? Not a chance. How else would they know? Plus, are the majority of Bills fans outraged? Or even unhappy? The majority, in my opinion, are happy they have a team to go tailgate then watch. You can't judge Bills fans in general from this board.

Playing Tyrod is flat out stupid

Exactly why he should not see the field again this season *if* the Bills don't plan on having him on the roster next season. -
Rex Ryan says Buffalo Bills' defense is 'close'

No not money in my opinion. It's to help Buffalo. Pegula is a hockey person which is why he bought the Sabres. I believe, and I have never met anyone in the Pegula family so it is only my belief, that the only reason he purchased the Bills was to keep them in Buffalo. -

Surprised I need to say this but, it's not his fault that the Bills drafted him as high as they did, or that he sucks as a starting QB. As near as I can tell, he has been nothing but a team player the entire time and has a good work ethic. He has been nothing but loyal to the Bills organization. There is no reason that the Bills should be anything but loyal to him, particularly when it costs them nothing to do so. If the Bills were fighting for a playoff spot then obviously not, but the Rex Ryan circus has ended that fantasy. If nothing else, IMO you don't play TT because of the insane injury clause (who the hell writes these contracts for the Bills?), and you don't play Cardale because he has never been prepared at all to play this entire season. By simple process of elimination EJ starts, and a side benefit is he gets seen and it costs the Bills nothing. Start EJ, maybe Cardale dresses and is the backup and gets a few snaps. -
"Experts" Picks week 15 versus the Brownies

Every pick is in. Overwhelming majority taking the Bills, which means the Bills will probably lose -

Close to allowing more yards per game than the number of wings Rob can eat in one sitting. -
Rex's "This is Fine" press conference today - a doozy
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't blame the media for being on a witch hunt, look what Ryan has done to this defense. He should burn. Bolded, come on man be serious. But if we ignore reality for a moment, do you think anything changes if they make it by an act of god and get smoked by 50 in the first round? -

Could work too. They finish 9-7, D looks good if you ignore who they are playing. Maybe it saves his ass on black monday, maybe even his brothers. -

Why do the media !@#$s always bring up job security in situations like that? Is it simply to try and get the coach pissed off? -

It makes a lot of sense if you look past this season. Say what you want about the Bills still being "in the hunt", but they aren't. Plus after this weekend win or lose their playoff chances should be zero, at least one of the magic "what ifs" is likely to drop. And, last but not least, the Bills should be able to win with anyone under center. Just hand off to Shady/Mike G. all day. It actually makes no sense, IMO, to play TT Sunday. In fact, it's quite stupid to play him. Which is probably why Rex and the Bills will do it. -

From what I hear, Cardale cannot even read a defense yet and has had zero practice reps with the 53, he has been only running the practice squad mimicking the next opposing QB. Not even close to being ready to play, even against the Browns. Should play EJ simply because of the injury clause with TT. Plus it gives EJ a little film where he should do well to try and land a job next season. -

I don't get this at all. Russ should have the Bills play a game against local girl scouts to appease some fans I guess. Sounds like the Bills are going for a win. Playing TT even though they are on the hook for a lot of money if he gets hurt. Shady alone should score 4 times and get 250 yards. -
