  1. Extremely unlikely he gets traded. He is a top notch backup and they aren't easy to find either. The only way he gets traded is if they get a very good deal for him (based on the ****ty Sammy trade I'm not sure they know what a good deal is), and they are extremely confident that they have a good starter or backup in Peterman and that they will be able to get the other in the next draft. If they trade TT it almost certainly signals they are willing to sacrifice this season to get ready for the post-Brady era that's coming.
  2. The Bills used a first, and another first, for potential. But for just a 2nd, I think I'd rather keep the player and give TT every opportunity to prove himself than give Watkins away. But I ain't no GM
  3. I don't think his numbers would have been huge even if he managed to play all 16 games. As good as he could be, without someone who can get the ball to him consistently his numbers are limited. My sole gripe was the trade itself. A 2nd and a meh player for someone the Bills used 2 first round picks for not long ago, and still has tremendous upside, is not getting good value IMO.
  4. I voted no only because I am disappointed with a 2nd and a meh player for Watkins. They didn't get any value for a good, and potentially great, WR. Particularly when you consider the heavy price the Bills paid for him. I'm happy for Watkins, I watched an interview with him during a preseason game over the weekend and he seemed VERY happy with the situation. But I think the Bills absolutely got the short end of that trade.
  5. Bwahahahahaahahahaahahahahahaahahahahaha!!!
  6. I was wondering how much that would be as well. My worry would be being stranded in Buffalo because no drivers wanted to make the trip to Roch (and the return trip).
  7. And with guys who will be washing cars in a couple weeks.
  8. He was also playing *with* 3rd string players. And the Bills have very little depth, so managing to move the team and score did impress me. He made some mistakes as well, but that is to be expected. I liked what I saw from him, particularly compared to Yates who was a train wreck.
  9. Hammers lot. Good times without all the stupidity you see in some other lots. The (in)famous Pinto tailgate is there now as well, back left corner.
  10. I agree with what you say regarding HS and college football in the south. I once was in a small town in Texas on business and someone there told me I would need to either go eat dinner somewhere by 5pm on Friday, or plan on eating at the high school football stadium because nothing else would be open ... and they were right.
  11. My kids were also not given the option. The risk versus reward made it a very easy decision for my wife and I. But if the "golden age" is over, I think it has more to do with how the game has changed in recent years, mainly regarding protecting the players.
  12. Pretty simple for me: 1) I want the coaches and players to look like they know what they are doing. No stupid coaching mistakes and no undisciplined penalties. 2) No one gets hurt.
  13. Or, just turn it off at halftime (or leave if you are there) if it doesn't interest you.
  14. Cue the profiling complaints, leading to everyone getting tested.
  15. Exactly. That's what the "drug test them all" crowd fails to account for, the cost of the drug tests themselves.
  16. But if you had a son born today, knowing what you know, would you allow him to play tackle football?
  17. Shiraz for me. I like it with a little more bite.
  18. A. I'll take the under. B. I'll take the under. C. I'll take the under. D. I'll take the under. E. I'll take the under. I guess we disagree a little
  19. The Bills winning 7 games this season is the safest bet in sports? Is this sarcasm relating to the 18 years of mediocrity? Because if not, in my mind at least right now the Bills are a 7-9 win team. But with who they lost, Shady a year older, and an entirely new coaching staff (with a lot of them doing their current job for the first time ever), less than 7 wins is very possible.
  20. As I remember they did check last year. But, get to the shuttle lot early, there are usually people handing out extras there as well.
  21. Yes it truly does suck this year. Sunday 8/6 at SJF and 3 of the 5 ticket locations are Lockport, Depew, and Hamburg. Someone has their head up their ass.
  22. Yes the lines get long in the tent if they are not there early. But my experience over many years there contradicts everything else you said. Like you said, they list exactly who will be in the tent every day, and ahead of time. It isn't a 3rd string surprise showing up. There is a set time the players will be there, I don't remember what it is, but it is more than 15 minutes. And I have never seen one player leave early. My kids loved it for years, but they are too old to get in now. Unless things changed dramatically for the worse last year, my experience was very different from yours. My favorite memory is when my youngest boy came running out of the tent all excited because one of the players signing, I believe it was Spiller, gave my son one of the bottles of gatorade they have for the players to drink. He thought that was the greatest thing in the world!
  23. Yeah looks like that's what they are doing this year so they get a chance to try and sell you seasons.
