Per Mort & Schefter Cowher back to CBS

Really? You are lucky. With me it is very consistent .... buy this ... buy this ... buy this .... -
Per Mort & Schefter Cowher back to CBS
CodeMonkey replied to drewfla's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you. I would call him an adequate coach and certainly a significant upgrade to anything we have had in recent memory. It is all still speculation of course, but ask yourselves this. There are many reasons the Bills organization and fans would want Cowher, but what are the reasons Cowher would want the Bills? And please don't say money. Money is not a strong motivator for those that already have it. And please don't say control because he will get that anywhere he goes. -

I'm not saying yet it's a done deal that Cowher isn't coming here because no one knows until he or the Bills say so. But what makes you and others think it's a matter of throwing enough money at someone in his position? He was well paid by the steelers, and continues to be well paid by CBS. He certainly is not desperate for money by any stretch of the imagination. Just because you or I might live hand to mouth does not mean the same rules apply to someone in Cowhers position. -
So what does this tell us? Perhaps that all of this speculation is just pissing into the wind? All these will he, won't he threads as well as these so called insiders writing the "news" (term used loosely) is all just mental masturbation. Instead of getting all worked up over this how about sitting back and waiting for the Bills or one of the potential coaches to actually say something. You know, the facts.

VERY proud of my bills today and our fans
CodeMonkey replied to Drew026's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There really was no reason to get excited about any aspect of the game itself. However you have to respect the Bill fans though for showing up in that. I just hope those shirtless guys weren't shirtless for too long. Frostbite is a B word -
How much do you like this outdoor hockey?
CodeMonkey replied to ProjectPat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is getting old for me too. Having one every 4 years to keep it exciting would be a better idea. -
I think the organization is trying to do whatever it can to try and gain a little credibility and respect from the fans and the press. They know how much of a joke they have become, and are trying to start to change that. A show of support by Kelly and Thomas for this GM choice can't hurt.

Cower maybe more of a reality then people might think

Or ... reading far more into friendships than is reasonable. But only time will tell. -
I'll get you my pretty! And your little dog too!

What the heck do they do with the tickets in cases like this anyway? Give them to employees or advertisers? Or "buy" them in name only by paying the cash but not ever getting the actual tickets?
-
Rochester TV reported last night that Time Warner was going to buy any remaining tickets. But I haven't heard for a fact today that it happened.

It has always astounded me how many coaches a NFL team carries. Any more and it will be a coach per player.
-
Dude come on. He is paid to, and wants to win. He is in professional sports at a very high level. You don't get there by trying to lose. This is Professional Football, not Professional Wrestling. I guarantee you that the draft order is not in the top 100 things on Fewells mind on Sunday. How !@#$ing hard is that to understand.
-
Like I said earlier, there was no way any WR was gong to have an impact with this offense. But I do agree with you about Evans being overpaid, but not just for this season. He would be at best, the second WR on most other NFL teams. I just happen to like his work ethic, attitude, and that you can count on him to play every game.

ESPN INSIDER: "Cowher to Bills back on"?
CodeMonkey replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's more than just weather its quality of life in general. But thank you, I needed a good laugh this morning at work and you made me laugh out loud -
But Evans is an iron man. Never misses a game and never gives up on a play. 30% more money than TO, yeah that seems about right.
-
My 12 year old has become a fan as well. He and his siblings started every Sunday early in the season with a breakfast of TO's (which I was sent to purchase on a regular basis), and wore his jersey as we watched the games (and LOVES the pinto tailgate!). But about half way through the season he saw that they were "not very good". He still wears the jersey and watches the games and plays as the Bills on Madden (albeit with Matthew Stafford as the QB so that he can win). But doesn't get too high or too low during the games. All in all I think he has a pretty good perspective on it.

I can respect that Like I posted in another thread, my wife will be watching on TV because of some Indy scrub that is on a reality TV show that she watches. So she will be watching while I am off doing other things. It just seems so surreal and wrong
-
Exactly. There was no way a WR was going to have a big on field impact with that offense. Anyone capable of looking objectively at this team could have seen that. The Bills FO may not be the best in the league, but they aren't complete morons either.

Shocking news! Clayton doesn't believe Sal's report

Follow Glinda's instructions ... close your eyes, tap your heels together three times and say "There's no place like home Buffalo."
