  1. People that I know that have gone in the past are skipping this year because of the dumbass starting Thursday night for round 1 nonsense to get more primetime commercial dollars. Going down for the weekend is one thing. Now having to take extra days off from work plus the extra expense, what's the point.
  2. There was no point trading for McNabb if he wasn't going to sign an extension. And he made it fairly clear that he would not sign one with either the Raiders or the Bills. He recognizes he is in the tail end of his career and is not looking for a team just beginning a rebuild. I don't blame him at all.
  3. It serves no more purpose than saying Gailey is a proven winner and is clearly the savior this team has been needing for the past 10 (50?) years. However, Gailey does have an extensive football history. In this case, it is not unreasonable to assume what he will achieve in Buffalo will closely resemble what he has been able to accomplish in the past.
  4. Oh. I said many times on here that I feel Gailey was probably the best they could do under the circumstances. If it were me at GM, I would have taken a hard look at Frazier. But I understand Nix wanting a old school guy like himself. It just astounds me though how people can look at Gaileys history (on many teams - why so many?) and make statements like "proven winner". The only things actually proven are that he interviews well enough to get hired a lot, and that he will probably neither win or lose a lot of games in any one season. He is our coach and Nix is our GM. I hope they both do fantastic jobs. But people trying to blow smoke up their asses by grossly overstating the facts for whatever reason just ruffles my feathers I guess.
  5. Loved his last answer about wanting to make The Ralph the nastiest place to play in the league for the opposition again.
  6. Now THAT would have been worth the price of admission
  7. So all Brandon has to do by this logic is hire a new HC every 2-3 years and all is well. Nice. Oh my Gawwwwwd not again. The Bill Cowher of that time? Taking a decent team and in the 2nd (and final) year ending up 8-8 and losing both years in the first round of the playoffs. Jones regretted firing him, yes he did say that apparently, but riddle me this ... if he regretted it so much why did he never hire Gailey back even as a OC if not a HC? This whole paragraph is just so wrong it hurts to read it. Now I'm not saying the 'Good Ole Boy' connection shouldn't be given a fair chance, because I think they should (besides what real say do we have in the matter). But man when I read extreme homer posts with amazing spin on the facts like this one it makes me shake my head in amazement.
  8. Well technically 0 out of 0 is not 100% ... just sayin
  9. Ha ha ha ha ha! Now I have heard it all. Yeah TVs in the weight room was definitely the reason we have sucked balls for the last 10 seasons. Come on, you have to see this is a monumental reach even for Bills fans. Do you really believe the players watching Oprah between sets is what caused their injuries? The Good Ole Boys are old school and are changing things to what they grew up with. Nothing more, nothing less. There will not be one less, or more, injury because of this. Maybe that's why Marshawn didn't show up for voluntaries ... he didn't want to miss Oprah
  10. Should have left the TV's but fed video of every embarrassing loss the last 10 seasons and all of the football media saying how bad the Bills suck and will continue to suck.
  11. What I tried to put in another thread that got closed ... Easy. He would be, at best, a short term pacifier to keep the fans happier (and buying tickets) during the rest of the rebuild process. In general I do not have a problem with that. But Philly would be looking for things that we cannot afford to give up during this multi-year rebuild process. Namely draft picks. If Philly cut him loose and we signed him as a FA, then fine. But I do not want to mortgage the future and prolong the rebuild process for at best a 2-3 year interim QB on the downside of his career.
  12. I'm not so sure this is true. It does not take marketing mastery to sell water to people dying of thirst.
  13. Cobblestone bars work for me. Pearl Street is nicer, but it's just too !@#$ing crowded. At least before Sabres games.
  14. I can't feel bad for any of them. How much money did he make in those 4 years for 16 game seasons? If he wasn't playing football he'd probably be saying "paper or plastic". But instead he makes more in a year than most people will make in their lives! Football is just a game after all.
  15. I don't mean to be a smart ass, but I would like to know what you have seen that shows "a purpose"? Nix has hired Gailey, arguably the best he could do under the circumstances, but hardly a inspiring choice. Let go some of the dead weight. And signed a couple depth (at best) FA's. No "real" signings, and no draft yet. In fact, they haven't replaced the starters they have lost so far. What purpose do you see so far?
  16. If the season started today, we lose both to the Jets without question. The question is, could we steal one from both the cheaters and the fish. Then we wait and see what happens in the draft and if our FO decides to go after any FA talent at all.
  17. I bet you at least the first 5 out of the 7 (I don't give a !@#$ about the !@#$ing Toronto game) home games sell out. Bills fans are loyal to a fault.
  18. For those that don't feel like reading the entire thing:
  19. At Dallas by most accounts he inherited a fairly decent team. 1998 he went 10-6 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. 1999 he went 8-8 and somehow made it to the playoffs, and again lost in the first round. So in his 2 years at Dallas, where player wise he was able to hit the ground running, combined he was 18-14 or 0.563% and 0-2 in the playoffs. And the trend was downward. Jones stopped the bleeding. GT bought out his contract they were so desperate to stop their bleeding. Since he started his career coaching in 1974, the Bills make it by my count 11 teams. That seems like a lot to me. And excluding some division 2 success, nothing anyplace to write home about from what I've read. I don't think "flame out" is too strong. But he is our coach, and maybe working with Nix there will be the chemistry needed to make it "be different this time around". As Bills fans we can only hope so anyway.
  20. That is well said in my opinion and sums up my feelings on the situation. No reason to start calling for Chans head on a platter yet, but it did have me shaking my head at the time as well.
  21. No he doesn't. Go to a game last season or watch on TV? After 9 years of suckitude and counting, the season ticket sales record was set. He doesn't have to worry about the fans, he owns the fans.
  22. Why is it so hard for people to grasp that this is year 1 of a rebuild cycle in the eyes of the Bills FO?
  23. Well, I'm not sure stupid is the word I would use. Loyal to a fault maybe. But they have shown they will fill the stadium no matter how terrible the team is, or how long it has been terrible. So it is safe for the Bill FO to assume the stadium will continue to be full those 8 ... err ... 7 home games.
  24. Would have been a waste of money for the Bills to pay that with no supporting cast.
  25. That's what the Bills FO like to hear!
