  1. If Chin coaches next season, and if Chin hires Gailey. Two big Ifs. But Gailey would at the least be unemployed this season.
  2. Of course he is happy to be in Buffalo considering if it wasn't for Buffalo, he would be unemployed/retired. Coaching a big pile of **** is better than not coaching at all, particularly when the pile of money you get is even higher than the pile of **** you are stepping in. If nothing else, this is a nice retirement account boost for him and his family. And there is always the chance lighting could strike and he could achieve something. It is a no lose situation for him. I should be so lucky as to have a situation like this happen to me!
  3. Can't find any fault in that.
  4. Actually I think the cheaters are going downhill and did not improve at all this off season (at least on paper). And I also hold out (unrealistic?) hope that the fish will be ripe for the taking opening day and we could get lucky and surprise them. But otherwise I have to agree with you, unfortunately.
  5. For the first time that I can remember, my kids did not come home with a form for cheap tickets for the kids to a "kids day" preseason game. But I called and they do have the reduced pricing for the kids seats. I still think it sucks balls that the Bills (and probably every NFL team) charge full price for preseason games, but my kids really enjoy the tailgating and the game. So those that wish to bring their families to the only true family friendly game at the Ralph, get your tickets now! FYI the game is on Sat, 08/28 at 6:30 PM against the bungles. Being the third preseason game, we should see the starters from both teams playing a fair amount.
  6. No surprise really. There are a lot of steeler and jets fans here plus it is close enough for their local fans to travel. And the home opener against the fish was a given to sell out. Still though, it would appear that the Bills are off to a good start. Which is good news to all of those people wanting to watch the home games from the privacy of their own homes!
  7. How about "these jerkoffs are ripe for the taking. If I work hard and coach notices I will have their starting position!".
  8. I don't know. If they are close, then yeah probably just sign. But if "slot value" isn't what I and my agent figure I'm worth then I hold out until I get what I deserve. He probably isn't signing a 1 year deal after all. He needs to consider his financial future. It's easy to say "just sign". But these disputes aren't always the players fault.
  9. You sound like these guys are 10 years old and not adult professional athletes. This isn't fifth grade you know, they should all be able to be responsible for their own work ethic (or lack thereof).
  10. Then you must acquit!
  11. You can't really say that. He sucked into the playoffs somehow with the cowgirls with 10-6 and 8-8 records.
  12. I will .... as soon as you show me proof that you can come up with the 20 mil cash
  13. 1000:1 to make the wildcard or better? I'd put $20 on that. We get lucky and I make 20 grand, nice. If not I'm out the price of a few beers at a sports bar. Yeah, sign me up for that bet. Risk versus reward baybeeeee
  14. It is risk versus reward. I don't care what oddsmakers say, I think the Bills realistically have no chance this year, but it is not impossible. So the reward would have to be pretty great (considerably more than $120 for my $1 bet) for me to consider taking the risk. Actually you kind of proved the "bad at math" argument
  15. Would have to be at least 1000:1 to even consider it. 120:1 for the Bills after the past 10 years is a fools bet. At least at 1000:1 you can expect a good return to justify your $20 bet. I wish I was in a position to take bets and offer the 120:1. I could use the extra cash if any are foolhearty enough to actually make such a bet.
  16. Here all you have to do is get hired as a Bills coach. That gets you through the first 2 - 3 years or so. Then you are on your own.
  17. Depends on how hot she is and how long it has been for me
  18. As I have said before, I believe Gailey was the best the Bills could do at the time. They weren't about to get a "name" with their current reputation. I never said he sucked, but I also never looked at him as being a god that somehow slipped past everyone else either. Hence my "mediocre" label. I have an interesting parallel ... I have friends heavily into Gerogia (the state) college football. I called them when I first heard the Bills were looking at Gailey and to a man, they laughed and said it must be a false rumor. No one in their right mind would hire Gailey as a head coach in college, must less the NFL. Anytime Satan loses I am happy. And if Gailey somehow manages to lift himself and this team to respectability I will be very happy and will certainly give him his due props.
  19. Gailey knew he was on his last leg at GT, of course he would have interviewed with the cowgirls after the steelers and phins turned him down had he been asked. But what you or I think really doesn't matter, and we will never know for sure. For about the 100th time, Gailey historically is a mediocre coach. Read whatever you need into jones not rehiring him, or why the steelers, fish, and basically everyone else passed to get yourself excited about the upcoming season. Who knows, maybe God will smile down on Buffalo and lift our coach and team out of mediocrity. The odds of that happening are better than Gailey suddenly transforming into a great coach this late in his life on his own. I for one cannot wait for the season to start so we can stop all the "jones biggest mistake ever" talk and see what we really have.
  20. It makes him and others feel better and hopeful about the good ole boys, Buddy and Chan. Jauron was THE problem, and now that THE problem has been expelled the great saviors Nix and Gailey can save the franchise. As others have mentioned, for the past 10 years (at least) every coach fired has been a worthless dumbass who knows nothing about football and every hire a football God. This includes DJ just a few short years ago. It is best just to let them be. If you look at the facts, Chan is a career mediocre coach. Buddy has only a theoretical track record to look at as anything other than a scout. Time will tell if they are successful, or 3 years from now everyone who is awestruck by the Gailey hire will turn on him like they did DJ and proclaiming the next coach the savior. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
  21. Great analogy! This summer my sons travel soccer team is getting crushed. They had a few great seasons including last year and got promoted from division 3 to division 2 this year. As you can imagine, that means the level of the opponents drastically improved instantly. From experience I knew this was going to be a tough season, and it has been. They lost their first 6 games pretty badly before winning one. And even though it has been hard, I can see remarkable improvement in both the boys, and their coaches as they all get used to their new division. It's the same for me and the Bills. After a decade of ineptitude it is unreasonable to expect the good ole boys to turn it around in 1 draft and a couple months of practice. Despite what you read here about Gailey being "primed for success in the NFL", a "proven winner" and so on, if you look objectively at his career you will see a competent coach, nothing more. So I do not expect a good season regarding wins and losses this year. But like my sons team if I see improvement in the Bills players and coaches throughout the season I will be pleased and optimistic for the future. So some may not understand how I don't like to post strictly about how the Bills are going to be awesome and a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs this season. For me it is fun to talk realistically ... good or bad ... about a team. For me it is not fun to talk in what some may call optimism, but what I call fiction.
  22. Most of all I just hope he doesn't end up paralyzed or worse because of this.
  23. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I am curious as to what makes Gailey "head and shoulders above what we've had here in a LONG time" in your eyes. You come to this conclusion from watching his press conferences? Or maybe you were a cowgirls fan for the 2 years that Gailey was the HC there? What makes Chan "the man"?
  24. New borns sleep a LOT. I used to love having mine sleep on my chest while I watched the games. Just sayin ...
