They may or may not be right regarding Edwards as the starting QB. But they are 100% wrong in heckling him or anyone else at a practice. A practice that is free and open to the public and in particular that caters to kids (the next generation of Bills fans). The Bills organization does a spectacular job at camp making sure it is a family friendly environment. My kids come back with all kind of Bill stuff that they won at contests and what not. They get to see their favorite players run drills and get a chance to get their autograph. And they absolutely love it there. There is no reason at all for a group of !@#$ing morons to heckle anyone there. Particularly today, the last day of camp when the place was jam packed with kids trying to get the practice jerseys etc. from their favorite players. And if you really think that some !@#$s hecking is going to make even the slightest bit of difference in who Gailey will eventually name the starter then you need to put down the crack pipe and check into rehab.

Actualy those are the people that need to get up close and personal with the business end of a baseball bat.

I'd say more like !@#$-ishness. These persons obviously weren't heckling Trents performance today, but it is a reflection on the past few seasons. He/they are Trent haters and probably felt the need to release their inner dickhead. Damn I wish I would have been recording the Bills training camp satellite feed today. I bet the cameraman caught the whole thing.
-
I was unaware that Gailey had won or lost any games that counted yet. Ahhhh but I see the Trent hate-force is strong in this one
-
They didn't say whose glove, there were a bunch of players by them signing stuff etc.

My kids are there again today (8th time total and 3rd day in a row, geesh ) and they got Trents autograph among others and almost a glove. Good to know they weren't in the a-hole section

Please do not let tickets for Saturday go to waste.....

I agree completely. Stubhub is pretty good to use if you are a buyer, I have done that once or twice for Sabres tickets and had no issues at all. But when you are a seller they are absolutely horrible. Way to expensive, and they even try and force your delivery option to something they probably get a kickback from. Unless they change dramatically I will never sell through them. But I will probably buy through them again. -
No worries. It's hard to tell sometimes in written form

Wow man you need to chill and take a deep breath for a second. Ok, now, I NEVER said the Bills or Ralph were cheap. But I do feel that the TO signing was PR only. Simply because I can't imagine anyone thinking TO would be a help on the field when we could not get the ball to him. Secondly, when I said in my previous post that your sources are better than mine and your info is obviously better I was SERIOUS. I was not trying to feed you any baloney or imply you were pulling rank or anything else. Just acknowledging you would know more about the inner workings at OBD than I would ever want to. You read far more into my previous post than was intended.

From that blog you referenced: Not sure what games they can play with lists etc. but sounds like not a cut.

I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!

I'm not sure I ever said that I thought the Bills had no interest in either coach. In fact, I'd be shocked if they did not have interest in both of them. But having interest, and thinking you have a good shot at hiring one, are two entirely different matters. And to your point about TO being hired essentially by Mr. Wilson. You obviously have far better info and sources than I would ever hope to so I would not dare dispute you on this. But are you saying you think it was done for a reason other than PR, regardless of who actually pulled the trigger? Again, it is difficult to dispute you on matters involving the Bills, but I have a hard time coming to grips with that one in my head.

Bills the Pirates of the NFL (new ESPN article)
CodeMonkey replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I have said all along, forever ... if they stay in Buffalo. Not saying that is a good thing or a bad thing, just how it is for a lot of people. -
Not sure but the fish brought in the "name" GM, so the "experts" probably thought they would improve. Tough to do otherwise after 1-15 I guess.

I would argue that the only one "jerking" in here so far was you. -
Thanks. Right back at ya.

I guess I can see your argument to a point, but I am still a free market believer at heart I guess. But they seem to be doing a horrible job at the bolded part above. -

I agree. And that may be one of the biggest problems in the NFL. There should be no profit sharing, and the TV money should either be negotiated on a individual team basis (maybe too big of a logistical headache for the networks) or divided based upon number of nationally televised games or some other measure instead of divided by 32. Merchandise deals also done on a per team basis as well. This country is capitalistic and (mainly) free market driven after all. Why not the NFL? -

It would seem, based on the lack of published information by the Bills and how hard they are pushing ticket sales in the media and cold calling this year, that ticket sales are down this year. How far down is anyone's guess, but it is pretty clear that they are down. Some fans may be "getting it". But overall I agree with you. There will always be a hardcore fan base in Buffalo that will buy seasons and merchandise even if the Bills didn't smell the playoffs for the next 50 years ... just as long as they stayed in Buffalo. -
Quotes other "expert" sources that basically say we are headed in the right direction, but we will get hammered this season. A few are calling for 2-14 even. Link

Bills the Pirates of the NFL (new ESPN article)

Then how does a sucky team get to be a good team? Random drafts and letting your best players walk for more money elsewhere does not seem like much of a plan to me. -
Yes some people feel this way. I have a living will that says I do not want to be kept alive by extraordinary means. This is saying I would rather die with dignity than stay alive as a vegetable and a burden to my family. I know this is the extreme case, but by extension then some people do feel that they would have the Bills flourish elsewhere rather than be a miserable failure continually in Buffalo. It may not be your opinion or a very popular one here, but it is perfectly reasonable for some to feel this way.

Well you have to admit that the Bills actually do defy free market economics to a degree! What other product can you think of that has sucked ass for 9 years and yet has a record sales year like the Bills did last year with season tickets. Plus it really isn't a free market at all. Profit sharing and a even split of TV revenue means teams aren't competing for dollars at all. -
Well, considering that this is Marketing-Man Brandon, and he brought in TO last year to sell tickets, my only guess is he thought the hope of a "name" coach would push people to renew their seasons. Maybe hoping the denials from said "names" would take longer than they did. I don't know, I've got no other reason that I can think of. Why else would he confirm? I can't believe he thought the Bills were actually going to get either one.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but logically the Bills must have among the lowest operating expenses in the business. Ralph has owned the Bills outright forever and hasn't forked out the money to build his own stadium or anything else that would make him take on debt. This is a debt free team, his operating expenses must be as low as they possibly can be. With profit sharing and a equal split of TV revenue, Ralph must be doing very well with the Bills. Now if profit sharing goes away (which teams that play the Bills frequently must be trying for) and the TV revenue goes proportional to a teams gate or how often they are televised, then Ralph would be in big trouble. Until then he is riding the gravy train. I'm not saying Ralph is running this team on the cheap or not. I'm just saying there is little to no chance of him going into the red with the situation as it currently is.
