  1. I'll see your drugs and raise you one casino theft. http://www.rr.com/sports/topic/article/rr/9003/38389060/Kansas_City_Chiefs_veteran_Mike_Vrabel_arrested
  2. Or perhaps to Jacksonville for Trent.
  3. Wow I can't believe you were serious when you typed this, but in case you were ... Driving, dangerous or not, is necessary for a lot of people and for society to function. Football is not necessary for anyone, for any reason.
  4. First off the Bills could have had Tebow at #9 last year and didn't take him. Why would they take him with the #3 this year? Secondly, if Elway does not want Tebow he would be willing to take a hell of a lot less than a number 3 for him. Even if the Bills now decided they wanted Tebow they would have to be insane to propose the trade you want. A second rounder at most for Tebow. Lastly, thank God you are not the Bills GM. You just made Buddy Nix look like a genius.
  5. Being a pats fan.
  6. My son is a sports nut and gets this mag as well as the "regular" SI. It has for the top 5: 1) Carolina - Bowers (DE) 2) Denver - Dareus (DE) 3) Buffalo - Newton (QB) 4) Cinci - Fairley (DT) 5) Arizona - Peterson (CB) They have the Bills bucking the trend by being the only offensive pick in the top 5, with 3 of the 5 being D-Line. Not saying they know any more or less than anyone else, but with Buffalo's history of head scratching draft picks who knows.
  7. But it wouldn't help their bottom line. NFL fans like violence. Highlight reel hits are good advertisement which helps the bottom line. Follow the money man, follow the money.
  8. Parents have known the risks for quite some time. Or at least they could have if they had bothered to check. I know someone who does brain trauma research for a living so I had easier access to information than most I guess, so there was zero chance of my boys playing tackle football. Simply not worth the risk. But there will always be people willing to take that risk as long as the financial rewards are possible. Plus as long as there are passionate fans of the game, like there are here for example, the game won't die out. As the insane salaries for players get even further out of control, the NFL is very long overdue for a "correction" (as wall street puts it for the stock market), but it will survive. It is far too popular in the United States to completely die.
  9. Speaking of your avatar, you need to post a LOT more !
  10. While I don't think taking a CB at #3 is a wise move for the Bills right now (BPA or not) it sure would make this board light up like a xmas tree with the posts to fire Nix and Gailey for pulling a Jauron. That could be entertaining anyway First pick last year a "scatback" that barely contributed when the team had 2 viable RBs already. And follow that up this year with a CB. Man, peoples heads would absolutely explode
  11. My honest answer is no. Outside of Bills fans Evans, Jackson and Spiller are not household names. Granted either is the guy with the non descript name, as you say, but the drop was memorable and was all over the talking heads shows. The bottom line is there are no memorable players on the Bills. Hopefully that will change soon.
  12. A well thought out and expressed post. However in my opinion the good ole boys don't have the desire or the shrewdness to execute a smokescreen. They are evaluating talent and will make their draft decisions based on who they think are the best players available. Pure and simple. Nothing less and certainly nothing more. I'm puzzled by the smokescreen obsession by some here. Why can't they just be thorough in their evaluation of talent? Maybe we as fans can afford to accept or dismiss players based on the musings of some media "experts". But it is their asses on the line. If I were them I'd take my time and make my own thoughtful evaluations and not give a rats ass if other teams watch who I am looking at. The Bills were 4-12 last year and drafted CJ Spiller #9 overall. What makes you think anyone else in the NFL cares who the Bills are looking at.
  13. Who would be the most recognizable to the general football fan? I suppose the correct answer is no one. But Johnson had that big drop that put him on the highlight (lowlight?) reels that weekend. I suspect that might make him the most recognizable.
  14. Didn't you, like a lot of the rest of us, think the same about the number 9 pick last year about this time?
  15. I was there with my son. With about 5 minutes left I was getting ready for the drive home. Then suddenly it was over, the wrong way. Everyone in there was looking at each other like "WTF just happened", it was all so fast. A bunch or people had left in my section but they must not have made it out the door before the Preds got their second goal because most of them came back to their seats. It was a punch in the gut for sure. I don't think I've ever seen Miller go so quick off the ice before. He was clearly pissed. And for the life of me I don't know what Sekera was thinking skating the puck into the Sabres crease like that with a couple minutes left and a 2 goal lead. And Lindy putting Sekera on the ice for the first shift of OT after he brain farted the second preds goal and was on the ice for the third. The Preds had four goals and Sekera was at least -3 that game. Crazy ****.
  16. Being a flyers fan is probably why you think hockey is boring to watch.
  17. Every sport, and other things as well, give people a discount for pre-paying. That discount you are rationalizing as half price for exhibition games is simply the pre-payment discount. Your statement sounds like NFL spin to me.
  18. In my opinion if a coach cannot evaluate players without preseason games then they are not much of a coach. Scrimmaging offense vs defense inside the same team should give them more than enough to evaluate players. If for some reason they feel the need to see their players against other teams (I have no idea why) then have teams come in for scrimmages like the Browns sometimes do to the Bills training camp or visa verse. The only reason for preseason games I see is to scam season ticket holders and maybe to give the facility people some live practice prior to opening day.
  19. You guys and your smoke screens. Can't they just be thorough and talk to everyone worth considering?
  20. It doesn't say enough to even be called speculation. Folks, nothing will happen until after Mr. Wilson passes (which I personally hope is a very long time from now). Any talk of who is lining up to buy, or backing Kelly, or any other wild ass speculation is nothing more than mental masturbation.
  21. I guess it depends upon how desperate the fans are. I would have no interest and would not watch. As far as I am concerned they would not be the Bills. I guess for the people whose main interest is the "event" (tailgating etc.) it could work though.
  22. What makes you think people collecting paychecks from the NFL KNOW who is going to be a great player? No one knows for sure, no matter how much time you put into it, amateur or professional. It's just that some people (generally professionals) make more educated and ultimately better guesses than the majority of us. The Bills could sure use one of those guys right now.
  23. Nothing being done by either side, no idea where any money would come from for renovations, the Bills confident that the taxpayers won't be "unreasonable" (Read as won't balk at paying for whatever the Bills ask for), but the politicians are 99% confident a new lease deal will be made. Classic.
  24. If you recall, Little Ben was never charged with a crime.
