If you were only expecting 4 or 5 wins last season you were in the minority. You don't recall all the "we HAVE to be better this season because we have Nix and Gailey", and "we have an immediate impact player in Spiller" posts? The opinion of a lot of people here was that there was no way the team could possible be under the 7-9 previous season(s). Thinking with their hearts and not their heads. This season they would appear to be a little better than last year (assuming they resign some of their free agents). But with a very tough schedule and being in the AFC East if you think this is their breakout year I'm afraid you are in for the same disappointment this year as some were last year. The Bills have sucked major ass for a very long time. It will take more than 1 decent draft to reverse the horrible era of "small and fast players" and turn things around.

If he did buy the Bills I suspect he'd want to move them. The Donald is all about making money, and keeping the Bills in Buffalo is not the smart move if a big motive of buying the team is making money. I can't imagine he'd have much interest though. If he were looking for a sports team to buy I think he'd be more inclined for one in the NYC area.

I think everyone here agrees with that!
-
Obviously.
-
Yes. If you remember the game you undoubtedly remember how mind numbingly bad of a game it was overall by both teams.
-
It was KC's defense that kept the Bills in that game as has been stated several times in this thread. It was probably also an equal part of no matter how much the Bills sucked last season, they never gave up ... EVER. So as long as KC gave them hope, the Bills were in that game. And in fact had several opportunities to win it. I guess there is no point in arguing against "damn the facts, it was a B+ game" Never said it was Fitz holding them back. Just responding to you thinking he had a great (or at least well above average) game when everything points to a different conclusion. You love Fitz and think he is probably the long term answer, "stats be damned". Fair enough.

DOES THE STOPPAGE LEVEL THE FIELD?
CodeMonkey replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not unless you think the Bills players are all working out together with the coaches and the other teams are pounding beers and hookers. Bad teams need more work than the others to catch up to the good teams. -
Fitz did not have a good game against KC, unless you want to say he ran well. I remember thinking the DBs must have liked Chan because they kept on dropping gimme pick-6's. Even with the drops by the KC DBs, Fitz stats were nothing to write home about. (I got them here) Buffalo C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT RATING Fitz 24/48 223 4.6 1 1 61.4 A rating of 61.4 is not "good" no matter how you look at it. Now these numbers for comparison, were not bad: KC C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT RATING Cassel 14/26 152 5.8 1 0 84.1 Fitz did have a good running day and damn near beat out fast Freddy: Buffalo CAR YDS AVG TD LG Jackson 20 64 3.2 0 9 Fitz 6 43 7.2 0 14 But him running is not going to win games. He did get the late drive to tie the game, but as was pointed out earlier, missed a few opportunities to win it as well. Overall I cannot understand how you would call this a B+ performance. I'd give it a D+ probably myself, or maybe a C- because of the running.

fan Forum With Roger Goodell
CodeMonkey replied to Buffal0 Bill5's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PR crap spin session King Roger is doing with all teams season ticket holders. Might be worth a laugh to listen but if you are expecting some kind of revelation I think you will be disappointed. -
This thread is similar to others this time last year. Many scoffed, but the "experts" were proven correct. They saw (or at least heard about, I can't imagine many national writers bothered to watch much of Buffalo's play) a 4-12 team last year that was pretty pathetic. With no FA and only the draft to base things on, they see improvement in the defensive line, maybe improvement in linebacking if they believe Merriman is healthy and can get back to his level while he was juicing. Everything else, including the entire offense, basically the same. They have no reason to think the Bills will be vastly improved like some here Billieve they will be. Remains to be seen again who is correct this season.

Increasing sales tax to get a new stadium?
CodeMonkey replied to GOBILLS!!!!!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very logical and I agree completely. Government would have to have more **** for brains than usual to build a monster stadium now not knowing the future of the Bills when Mr. Wilson passes. The economy cannot afford it, and Mr. Wilson sure as hell isn't going to pay for it. All talk about a new stadium is a waste of time until Mr. Wilson passes and a new owner takes over. Probably a waste of time even then. -

Perfectly stated. -
That was clear

Its because he is a long shot to make the team. And kinda freakishly big. Like Wang last year (minus the freakishly big part).
-
Kinda cool to see late round picks get so much talk on this board. Last year it was Wang and how he was going to ignite Bills fever in China, and this year Jasper. I suspect late rounders don't get much airtime on other teams fan boards.

I personally was hoping Miller was going to fall to us at #3. But even my 10 year old knows you don't give up the farm to trade up from 3 to 2 when you will still get a great player at #3. Particularly for a team that has so many needs the more early draft picks you have the better.
-
Easy enough to pro-rate based on number of weeks played.
-
I agree. The main issue with WR in my opinion is the lack of a true #1. But that is way down on the list of priorities at the moment.

Vikes reach staduim deal w/Ramsey County
CodeMonkey replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like another monster like in NE and Dallas. They still must think these things are a good idea. -
I hope you are right my robotic friend. But if memory serves you were thinking this about one year ago as well.

No worries. No doubt I'm a bit jaded myself.

In college he was able to make it to, and turn the corner. He found last year that's not so easy in the NFL. He certainly has the speed and is a good open field runner. If Gailey can figure out a way to get him into a little space with the ball he could have a big impact this season. If not, this season will be a lot like last season regarding Spiller.

What does my "sniveling" my praises to my boss have to do with anything here? And how does being or not being a realist relate to a 300lb person tacking someone? And lastly how does where I "set the bar" for the Bills this season affect how Fitz or Spiller or the team as a whole performs? In fact, don't bother answering. You apparently have problems maintaining a rational train of thought. I hear Adderall works well for a lot of people. Have a nice day.
