According to Nix's comments in todays PC I'd say Poz will get a decent offer from the Bills. The rest is up to Poz.

Bills press conference from this morning

I can only imagine, Russ. I wonder how many people were holding off to see if there was going to be a season. -
Bills Training Camp to Open Friday July 29th
CodeMonkey replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They really have gone out of their way in years past to make it particularly fun for the kids in the day sessions. If you have kids and are in the Rochester area you owe it to them to take them to camp at least one day. -
It is (or at least was as of this past weekend) free for new signups, directtv has been advertising that for a couple weeks now.

Will the Veteran FA QB the Bills sign this week
CodeMonkey replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be very closed minded of Gailey to not have a competition for EVERY position on the roster, including QB. Particularly on a team that went 4-12 last season. And I cannot imagine any decent FA would come to a team like the Bills without assurances that it indeed was a competition for the starting position. It may or may not be Fitz's position to lose, but to go in stating that Fitz is definitely the starter would be asinine. Gailey and Nix are both smarter than that. -
I have seen ads on tv recently that if you sign up for directv now they throw in the sunday ticket for this season.

This is not hard to understand. It is all about the money and rightly so. The amounts of money that are arguing over is staggering for a sport with a 16 game season (far more money than there should be in my opinion, but that's another discussion). Why would they or should they care about hurting the feelings of the fans? It does not matter how offensive the fans find this situation, once this issue is resolved they will be back buying tickets and merchandise and watching on TV and the NFL owners and players go back to counting their piles of cash. You just need to remember that to the fans it is a passion, to the owners and players it is a (very lucrative) business. Just ask yourself original poster, once the season starts will the slap in the face of this current "negotiation" cause you to change your viewing or spending habits? If you are like most fans the answer is a resounding "no". There is no need to "ensure the support of the fans". They have that already and they know it, and will take it all the way to the bank.

Golisano Talks Future of the Bills in Buffalo
CodeMonkey replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I figure Mr. Wilsons heirs will sell to the lowest bidder. No one outside of Mr. Wilsons inner circle knows for sure. It makes sense that the highest bidder would get it. But they might give preference to a local bidder who wants to keep the team local out of respect for Mr. Wilson. But then again the other NFL owners have a say in the matter as well. Bottom line is when Mr. Wilson passes we will find out. All these incessant threads about the subject are a huge waste of time. -
So much for the feel good no lashing out thread huh.

Finally. There had to be a good projectile vomit story in here somewhere

Gotta love Bills fans. They went 4-12 last season and this year: 1) The offense is the same as last year. 2) Added one potentially very good rookie defensive lineman. 3) Maybe Merriman manages to walk onto the field without hurting himself, and can play at or near his roid level (not likely, but maybe). 4) The Bills opponents, based on last years records anyway, are better than last years opponents. So the Bills defense is improved (if Merriman works out maybe significantly improved), and the offense is the same. Looking at the previous posts I see most have the Bills at 8-8 or better. With some going much better and talking playoffs. Yeah, its mid summer at TBD to be sure

NFL Games will be longer this season
CodeMonkey replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If memory serves, they already break for commercial after the TD, then again after the PAT. They should be able to review 99% of TD's during that first commercial break so this should be a non issue. -
I'm not a rap fan at all, but man that really sucked ass.

The Sabres are casting a long shadow
CodeMonkey replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't agree with you here my robotic friend. With attendance down overall for the league and all the bad feelings about this current lockout situation I can't see a price like you suggest. I'd be willing to bet you wings and beer on a $1.00B over/under (me taking the under) -
If Poz leaves, will you be upset??
CodeMonkey replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on man you have been around long enough to know how things work here: Step 1: Fire player. Step 2: Then, and only then, think about if you have someone better to replace the player. Step 3: Complain here when the replacement player is worse than the original player. Step 4: (Optional) B word to high heaven about Mr. Wilson being cheap when the Bills don't sign a stud free agent at that position when either none is available or if said stud player has no interest in playing for the Bills. There, got it? Good -
This is one of those threads that shows you for sure that the start of a new season is approaching ... rampant optimism abounds

This is correct for the game worn jerseys by the players. As as you noted they are not made by reebok. But the ones sold by reebok, which are the stitched ones we fans buy from the stadiums or from nfl.com, where are they made?

CodeMonkey replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poz is an average NFL player. The way the Bills are now, an average NFL player is one of your stars. You don't overpay or sign a long duration deal, but you resign him if possible. And to the people who are saying he can get us to 8-8 but not beyond, 8-8 looks pretty good after last year. Sign him to a short deal and after you hit 8-8 look for an upgrade, -
I was unaware that Hitler facilitated trademark infringement.
-
On ask.com one past said that, and others said various Asian countries. I could not find anything definitive in a short google search. Do you have a link that proves this statement? Also your statement says the ones that the players wear. Does that also include the authentic jerseys for sale to fans?

Bucky Brooks calls Merriman signing
CodeMonkey replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He probably does realize it. But look at it this way, if someone offered to give you a couple million bucks for nothing, would you turn them down? -
Only a week? What's the big deal. The teams know who they want and what they are prepared to pay. The players and their agents already know what they are looking for and what teams are likely interested. So for this week instead of the players going golfing and getting around to answering their phones when they feel like it, they stay available to take the phone calls and make a decision. How hard is that? Look at the first FA day for the NHL not long ago, tons of deals done on the first day even, and many more the few days after that. Simple.

OK James so your entire problem with the counterfeit jerseys is due to trademark infringement. I don't think anyone here has stated or believes it is not trademark infringement. Particularly since the counterfeits I have seen are complete down to the smallest detail, including the holographic "seal of authenticity". Basically it boils down to this. My 3 kids each want one, I do not. So I can spend $600 for authentic from the Bills store, $240 for crappy painted on replica, or $60 for counterfeit authentic. Which may change or players leave at any time. I choose the $60. If that make me a scofflaw or a bad person in your eyes I am OK with that. But I refuse to be ripped off by the NFL (in this way at least). C'est la Vie.

Clearly true.
