  1. A quick scan on ticketmaster showed me that the games up to the jets game only have a few thousand seats left and will probably sell out. The Jets game and later have quite a few seats left. I think you are right, if the Bills play well early in the season the remaining games will probably sell out. If not its blackout city.
  2. You can write all the letters you want. But spending 100 million on a team you like in a sport that you love is one thing. Spending 800 million on a team you may or may not care about in a sport you are lukewarm about is another. Lord knows the Bills could use a new owner with ties to Buffalo, but I have a hard time seeing this working out.
  3. If they pulled that off even I might start drinking some koolaid
  4. I have no axe to grind. I hope he turns into a perennial all pro. That screen you mentioned looked to me like Spiller outrunning his blockers (which has been an issue with him to date). The only nice run I remember was the one where he had nothing in front of him to the right. The others I remember him seeing people in his path and either stutter-stepping or trying to take it outside and getting dropped. I could be wrong I guess, maybe it just depends upon our definitions of a nice run.
  5. I have seen a couple people post this. I must have been watching a different game. From what I remember he had one good run to the right where he had nothing but space in front of him and he used his speed well. Otherwise squat. Not to mention his pedestrian pass routes and non existent pass blocking. I'm not ready to declare Spiller a bust at this point, but he did not play or run well Saturday overall.
  6. Running backs have considerably more mileage on them then wide receivers from taking more pounding. Plus I could be wrong but my belief it is easier to pick up a servicable running back than it is a wide receiver. For a apples to apples comparison you need to pick a running back, not a WR. Kinda morbid for a "ray of sunshine" post, no? No you wouldn't. You would look out for your wife and family making sure they were well taken care of after you passed just like Mr. Wilson is doing. At least I would hope so.
  7. No worries, didn't you read in some other threads that Spiller played pretty good Saturday?
  8. 3-5 for a 30+ slightly above average running back? I wish you were the GM of another team
  9. Exactly! Both are fans. Blind acceptance is neither a requirement or a dis-qualifier for being a Bills fan.
  10. "In Trent we trust!" How quickly that tune changed huh.
  11. Obviously. A team that has not even dreamed of making the playoffs in the last 11 years, was one of the worst teams in the NFL last season with a 4-12 record, lost a couple decent players and added a couple during the offseason, how could an organization that knows about sports in general and even more about american football POSSIBLY not rank the Bills in the top half of the teams in the league this season? It's so obvious!
  12. Chix did not pick Maybin, they did pick Spiller (and as their first pick to boot) so if you think of Promos statement as coming out of Buddy Nix's mouth it makes sense. "We picked CJ first round. He's gotta play." Their first ever pick, and a first round running back, who does nothing but collect splinters in his ass from riding the bench makes Chix look bad.
  13. I think what Chan would want to show which would be unique for recent Bills teams is the ability to compete. Like the O line being able to be effective, the D line showing at least a little domination, DBs being able to cover, offense being to put together some semblance of a drive, etc. Would he open his playbook in preseason and tip his hand, no (and neither did Denver). Did Chan expect considerably more from his #1's than he got, you bet your ass he did. If you need proof look at the pre-halftime comment he made.
  14. Yeah I probably misspoke a little there. What I was referring to is when he runs into traffic and could make the choice to put his head down and try to get a couple yards (which is what Freddy and Lynch would do) he tries to break it outside or stutterstep and gets dropped in his tracks.
  15. Can't argue with that. But he is usually wrong by trying to blow smoke up Bills fans asses, not the opposite
  16. My feeling is that we have 1 RB that can move the chains by running the ball and it is not CJ. If Gailey can get Spiller the ball in some space then and only then will I agree with you. In my opinion that did not happen Saturday. I sincerely hope it does in the regular season.
  17. promising bigger and better things for the regular season and is telling Bills fans
  18. God I feel like I'm reliving a very bad dream.
  19. Did you watch the game at all? Even the Bills homer announcers said something about it. He missed holes, could run over no one, outran his blocking, and missed blitz pickups. Basically the same as last season. Except for that I guess he was fine though
  20. I suspect they want to leave open the possibility of an onside kick.
  21. Trust me Justin, the only place you heard any talk about playoffs or a wildcard for the Bills this season is by some posters here. No one else would think that, much less promise that. Not even Chix.
  22. You could tell by Gaileys demeanor and statement before halftime he was discouraged (more like really pissed off) to say the least as well.
  23. It shouldn't take balls to "root" for or to be a fan of any sports team. I believe perpetually doing something that causes you enough pain where it would take balls to continue is called masochism.
  24. Fitz is an iron man. He takes some major shots and shows no signs of being affected. That is a trait any QB needs with this offensive line, particularly if Spiller is in the game.
