  1. I'm glad I wasn't. Regardless if it was due to CTE, roids, or something completely unrelated to football, it is sad to watch someone going through it.
  2. Or, play commercials during the anthem. The "controversy" fades away like you said, and they make money at the same time. Win-win.
  3. I thought this thread might be about his wife
  4. The AFC was weak enough this past season that a season record that they have had before, which was not close to making the playoffs those times, qualified them for a wildcard this time. It was not a better season record than they have had before, but as luck would have it, it allowed them to end the drought this particular time. They did seem to get more calls going their way this past season than in previous years, but that's not the luck I was referring to.
  5. Exactly, I suspect all physical print media is hurting. I know my company doesn't run any ads or coupons in physical print any more, it's all digital now. And reading online is easier, faster, and doesn't kill any trees. I'm a little surprised any physical newspapers still exist.
  6. Luck. They have had that same season record before during the drought. Just got lucky and backed into the playoffs this time.
  7. Not really. At least Russ had a lot of experience as a president of a team in a sport much bigger than hockey in the US before becoming president of the Sabres.
  8. Well, technically, still ...
  9. So what he is saying is that most of the ones that towed the management line and/or were not critical of the pick by definition are the ones that do know a lot about football? Pontificate much Vic? I don't follow college football at all, so all I know about that pick is I'm glad it only cost two 2nd's to move up. Seems like good value for a QB they coveted. So I guess that means I know a lot about football, who knew!
  10. We'll know in a few years. But the Bills got the QB they wanted and it only cost them two 2nd's. I think overall that's pretty good value. Going in I was afraid they would give up the entire draft for someone. So at the end of the day, I'm good with what happened.
  11. Based on their past drafting history, those teams passing is probably an endorsement *to* take him
  12. Based on how I watch the games, having every game but 1 be Sunday at 1:00 is absolutely perfect!
  13. Unless the networks zoom the cameras in more, I didn't get any closer I enjoy watching the games with my family. I record the games and we watch over dinner without commercials. As the kids all get older, everyone eating dinner at the same time is getting rare. Love those Sunday dinners Every game is at 1 as well this season except MNF which is fantastic!
  14. The Bills backed into the playoffs last year with TT. So I don't see why they couldn't do that again.
  15. Believe it or not, the sun will still rise the next day. It's an Fing game.
  16. I don't. I may tune in for the Bills first pick if I am home and nothing else is going on.
  17. Not if they involve what they think is a franchise QB. Without one of those, you go nowhere, which has been shown over and over.
  18. The local talking TV heads last night seemed to think he would be on the other side, and work with Hughes (if he was healthy enough and stayed that way) .
  19. And you think adding an element to the process that would make the ref decide if he thinks the action had a "big enough" impact on the play to warrant a PI call would make the calls more consistent? I think exactly the opposite.
  20. I'm all for less penalties. But deliberately making the call based on a persons perception of impact on the play is the definition of inconsistent calls. Remove some of the stupid penalties like when an offensive linemans muscle twitches it's a false start. Or a receiver is a few inches too far off the line it is a illegal formation (or most of the illegal formation calls actually) and so on. There are plenty of ways to speed up the game and improve the flow of the game.
  21. I absolutely HATE that. People are bitching now at how inconsistent calls are. Imagine what happens if they deliberately make this arbitrary based on the refs perception of it if impacted the play or not. That would be worse than "is it a catch?".
  22. Won't be watching and could not possibly care less. You should add a choice in the poll "I don't give a !@#$"
  23. !@#$ you Reimer you piece of **** for making me side with Tom Brady. Rot in hell.
