  1. Having good starters in all positions is more important, IMO anyway. But yes, once all your starting positions are filled by capable people, depth is a beautiful thing and is necessary for the entire season and playoffs.
  2. Never said he should be traded for a late 2nd, or even traded. Just that a trade should be considered given how little he sees the field. If a first round, 9th overall, RB is healthy and gets so little playing time his 2nd season, I consider it a huge red flag. The Bills have far too many areas of need to afford to keep a first round pick on the bench in the name of "depth", particularly one that has shown so little potential thus far. But as I said in the same post you referenced, if Gailey truly sees him as a RB of the future then keeping him is the right thing to do.
  3. Not sure what makes you say that, he has 107 yards for the season so far. Not exactly an overwhelming amount of data to say the least. I hope you are right and, God forbid, Freddy gets hurt that CJ can step in and shine and be the Bills RB of the future. I just have seen no evidence that leads me to believe that would be the case so far. But if Gailey still believes in Spiller and isn't keeping him around simply to save face for having Spiller be his first pick as a Bill that's good enough for me.
  4. It is a criminal waste of money given the current state of the economy. It is shameful and disgusting that taxpayers continue to foot the Bill for these millionaires and billionaires (NFL).
  5. Hmmm depth at RB. So far this year 6 games 15 rushing touches for 107 yards. Last season 14 games 74 rushing touches for 283 yards. Not a lot of depth at RB there say I.
  6. He doesn't any more than you know they weren't "scamming" the Bills. But it has been known to happen that players and particularly their agents look out for #1 just like the teams do. Very few people probably know how it really went down. Just hope he gets it fully resolved no matter how long it takes.
  7. Given the greed of the NFL, I suspect if this unlikely scenario came to be it would be blacked out in the NYC area.
  8. Hopefully they split the difference and end up at 8.5 for 4-5 years. He has shown he is worth that much anyway. If they get a good young QB I can think of no one better to groom him with the possible exception of P. Manning.
  9. Why do you care? The Bills could not find a way to put him in a position he could perform well and they cut their losses and let him go. If some other team had a D that he can thrive in that's fine. Except for the fact that the Bills play the Jets twice a year, how does this affect the Bills?
  10. The Bye. Unders won.
  11. Bottom line is, Gailey obviously understands about running the clock down and kicking a FG. Re-watch the end of the Pats game if you don't believe me. He knows Fitz is not an accurate passer better than we do. He also was well aware of the wind affecting the pass as well as any FG attempt. He made what he believed was the call that gave his team the best chance of winning. It didn't work out this time. If Fitz throws it better the Bills win and more threads appear proclaiming Gailey an offensive genius. Such is life at TBD.
  12. Best response ever
  13. Bolded part EXACTLY. And a touch pass deep is not putting a QB who is an inaccurate passer in a position to succeed. Very bad decision on Gaileys part to call that play and on Fitz's part for throwing it. Stevie didn't help matters any with the stupid facemask either. Eh, out of conference game and 4-2 at the bye is way better than I had hoped for at the bye. Overall I am happy.
  14. Thank God you posted this. I went 3 or 4 pages without someone whining about the refs and was beginning to think I was in the wrong forum
  15. I'm with you. I expected more like 2-4. I'll take 4-2 now. Off games happen, plus we are banged up. The bye should help.
  16. I suspect he is just tired of the constant whining week in and week out by some Bills fans about bad calls going against just the Bills. At least I know I am.
  17. Last I heard vegas has it as Giants minus the homefield 3.
  18. Split right down the middle on ESPN, 5-5.
  19. Ewwwww. Just got a bad feeling remembering a similar expression a few short years ago ... "In Trent we trust".
  20. What's so strange about that? Working Mon-Fri then fly out to whereever they need to work on Sunday. What do they have to do Mon-Fri that would preclude them from having another job? Maybe they want to make more than 50K a year and/or would be bored sitting around all week doing nothing. What's strange is people thinking being a NFL ref is a full time gig. We are talking about one day a week for 17 weeks and a few more weeks of playoffs for some of them. It's not like Hockey for example where there are are games almost every night of the week for a much longer season.
  21. That is quite possibly the most ridiculous nonsense I have ever read. Because the officials on the field did not see it or made a mistake a deliberate dangerous hit should not be punished by the league? How does that make things more consistent? WTF are you thinking?
  22. In the first 4 games Spiller has 13 carries for a total of 94 yards and 4 receptions for a total of 13 yards. In the first 4 games Fred has 64 carries for a total of 369 yards and 13 receptions for a total of 147 yards. Yes Spillers yards per carry average are about 1.4 more than Jackson, but Spiller has to few to be statistically meaningful. It's more like one punch with Spiller giving Fred a breather, at least thus far.
  23. I agree that it will probably be a high scoring, close game. But you lost me with the bolded part. Spiller??? He barely sees the field?
  24. According to this then the Eagles game should be a lock!
