  1. I should have been more specific ... the Good Ole Boys rebuilding process.
  2. Losing Freddy or Fitz would be worse. Imagine if you will, the Bills offense run by Thigpen and/or Smith with Spiller as the featured back. That my friend is an offense that would be competing with the Colts in the Luck sweepstakes.
  3. The Bills are in the early stages of what is, in the best case, a lengthy rebuilding process. No amount of sideline animation or "fire" can change that fact. I understand how the great start the team had coupled with [finally] beating the cheaters could cause the more emotional Bills fans to get caught up in playoff talk. But the reality is that playoffs are more than likely at least a couple years away ... if all goes well.
  4. Then what does?
  5. Your assumption is that the rest of the league, or at least one team, thinks Johnson is a top tier receiver. I think that assumption is false. I'm not saying cut him, but pay him fair market value for what he is, a solid #2 receiver. No need to overpay for a #2 WR when there are a lot of needs on the team still to spend money on. Rightly or wrongly they gave Fitz a big contract. Maybe a bit too big in my opinion. But you cannot pay 2nd tier players 1st tier money and expect to build a competitive team IMO.
  6. "Rooting" for mediocrity does not make sense, I agree. But either does expecting that more than 10 years of bad drafts and acquisitions is going to be turned around by 1 good draft.
  7. Exactly. I never expected them to go 5-2 in the first place so like I said at the start of the season, if they go 8-8 I consider this rebuilding season a success. I'm not at all convinced they will get there however.
  8. I follow international soccer (not the MLS crap) and hockey. As far as tackle football goes it is the Bills and only the Bills. I get bored before the end of the first quarter if it isn't a Bills game.
  9. Agreed. That Jets first half was unbearable.
  10. Or ... just play against teams with inferior defenses.
  11. Well said.
  12. Amen brother, amen. Even my young sons let out a "wow!" when they had her on TV.
  13. I don't know. Look at Fitz's contract. I would not rule out ridiculous for Johnson at this point.
  14. It sure seems like any betting person who believes the Bills just had 2 bad games and the problem is not systemic would bet the farm on Bills +3 this weekend. Not me mind you, but someone
  15. It just seems odd that vegas would feel the need to coax people into betting on the 5-4 Bills against the 2-7 fish.
  16. A ball = great guy. His girlfriend = God
  17. And why is that do you think? My guess it is because of what Gailey sees during the week in practice. We the fans don't need to see Spiller play. We also do not decide how many touches he gets. It is Gaileys decision as to how much to play Spiller based on how capable the coaches, and mainly Gailey, thinks he is. If he sucks in practice (which I am assuming he is doing or he would be getting more touches), what makes you think a superstar will emerge on the field game day?
  18. Agree to disagree I guess. I see no substance in those things that you seem to think indicate a winning mentality.
  19. And I have a hard time believing anyone would give a **** who a football player gives a ball to.
  20. I'd rather score with his girl. She is hot. Too many wet blankets here. He rarely gets to play in front of his girl or their families and he did something nice. Why get your panties in a bunch because she is hot enough to be a cowboys cheerleader. People need to stop sweating the stupid little ****.
  21. When was the last time you saw a 2-7 team a favorite against a 5-4 team?
  22. Many down there see it as a win for the fish and many up here see it as a win for the Bills. Reality is probably what the OP said, pick-em.
  23. I agree the defense is still very bad. The way the cowboys walked down the field at will the entire first half and scored 7 every time they got the ball, as well as the fact that Romo had more TD passes in the first half than incompletions says that in spades. But how in the world can you think the offense is anything close to acceptable? They have 1 play maker, Fred Jackson, and he won't be around for too many more years. And one is no where near "enough". The Bills have one game, the short pass game along with Jackson running. Period. Disrupt that, as the Jets and Cowboys showed, and the offense is done. Yes the defense is not talented, but neither is the offense. A few more good drafts, at the very least, are needed.
  24. "CJ Spiller Is going to be a weapon" ... just not for the Bills. The Bills will trade or release him in a couple years and he will end up in a offensive scheme that can use a back like him and he will blossom. That's my opinion anyway.
  25. In my opinion Johnson is not a big time WR and therefore should not get a big time contract. But, I didn't think Fitz would get the contract he did either so what do I know.
