Calling It: I Guarantee A Win At Minnesota Sunday

Only 2 games in and the non-game-day day drinking has already begun. -
We are getting killed on espn
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I listen sometimes to local espn radio on the drive to work. One day this week the topic was based on nothing but week 1 performance, who are the top 5 teams. One was the ravens. After the chuckles subsided from the others, he explained by saying yeah I know, the Bills are absolutely terrible, but the Ravens did what you expect a good team to do when they play a terrible team, dominate in every aspect of the game and crush them on the scoreboard. And they did it while resting many starters almost the entire 2nd half. It was embarrassing to listen to because it was accurate. -

Sam Darnold Officially Named NYJ Starting QB
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he looked pretty good last night. A lot of time between now and 11/11, but is anyone confident of the Bills winning that game right now? -
I thought he had the deer in the headlights look during the post game, not that I blame him. That was one fugly game from start to finish. His comment of the game getting away from them early and needing to review the video made my entire family chuckle.

Actually I thought the punter, who I never heard of before yesterday, did well overall. Yeah he stone-handed the one fumble, but given his newness, and the weather I'll give him a pass on that. But otherwise, yeah, what you said.

Bills vs. Ravens Postgame ?

Hopefully you are right about this Sunday. But all the pride in the world can't make up for lack of overall talent. -
Bills vs. Ravens Postgame ?
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He said short term. Allen managed 3 points yesterday in a half against a Ravens team resting a lot of starters because they play Thursday. And with some zebra help on that PI call where the Bills receiver grabbed the defenders facemask to pull him into the contact. I also think Allen will be a good QB when he is ready. But it is very clear that time is not now. -

Alcohol my friend. Lots and lots of alcohol. -
Not for Bills fans. Some national media thought this game was a blowout however. Maybe not quite that horrific though I agree.. Imagine if the Ravens weren't playing this Thursday and kept their starters in the 2nd half. I suspect that's why Allen played.

Teaching Bills Gambling 101 or looking to take a class? Week 1 is always a crap shoot anyway.,

If McCarron plays the whole game it has to be Allen day 1
CodeMonkey replied to Terry76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
4th preseason game. 20+ players were told before the game they would not see the field ... that's NFL coach speak for you made the team. People playing in that game were largely there to show one last time why they should make the final 53, and to have film for other teams to watch if they don't make the cut. Or in McCarrons case, likely to see if any offers would come in. IMO, Peterman will start against the Ravens. -
Fair enough. The Oline being in apparently such terrible shape seems to be a big fail, but ultimately the same holds true for them.

If the fiasco Sunday was your main point of reference, and it probably was for BR, it's very easy to see why they might think the Bills might be looking at the basement. Last seasons backing into the playoffs may have given Bills fans reason to believe McCoach is the second coming, when in reality "the process" is still in place. They got their QB, and it is early, but early indications are that he is a keeper. But there is still a long way to go talent wise. Receivers, Oline, running backs (excluding Shady who isn't getting any younger). This year may look like a regression due in large part to the Bills D going nuts with turnovers last season and the good fortune to make it to the playoffs and end the drought. But the Bills are still rebuilding, Rome wasn't built in a day and the Bills can't be rebuilt in a day either.

[Vague Title] The Sky Is Not Falling

[Vague Title] The Sky Is Not Falling
CodeMonkey replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The last preseason game is to figure out which of the players on the bubble to keep, and which ones to get rid of. Not much more. If they haven't figured it out by now, they won't by week 1. It's possible they do have it figured out but don't want to tip their hand, but we won't know until the ravens game. -
This is still preseason, they can "flip flop" as much as they want still. But that being said, in the "dress rehearsal" preseason game 3 you tend to see the week 1 starters play the first half and maybe a series or two into the second half. So for the "start Allen" crowd, this is very good news. However, with the news that McCarron does not have a fracture means he could still be considered, even though he likely won't play at all Sunday. We'll know when McCoach wants us to know and not before

What is Cris Carter Talking about
CodeMonkey replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't call it a quick release. Seems like he has the arm strength to throw the ball 100 yards while flatfooted, and looks big enough to take a good hit and stay upright, but nothing about him looks quick to me. Someone his size I wouldn't expect quickness either. I also wouldn't worry about it even a little. -
Josh Allen- One thing we can all agree on?
CodeMonkey replied to GoodHands15's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about "badly", but I want Peterman to start. Alllen is still a rookie, and it shows. Let the kid mature and get eased into the starter role. I'd also like to make sure the O line can protect better than they have been so far before I expose my entire offensive future. I guess I'm conservative. -
How Many Preseason Games Should There Be?
CodeMonkey replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps a follow on question ... how many of the preseason games should season ticket holders be forced to purchase at regular season prices
