Taking off the red and blue blinders ... How have the Bills improved? Allen in 2nd year like Darnold. Replaced one aging RB for another. OLine *may* be better but who knows (certainly not a lock), Picked up Beasley in the slot, otherwise receiving is probably a wash, D is about the same (hard to go up much from last year). They probably are looking at this season. Their assessment is just different than yours. And quite frankly, everyone is guessing at this point.

Shouldn't be. His age and decline in performance coupled with the contract would make any GM cringe. Add to the mix that they figured the Bills would release Shady, so if any GM wanted him, they'd get him a hell of a lot cheaper than trading and assuming the contract.
-
Likely no other GM wanted Shady's contract. Now that he's released he will get picked up by a team making a run this season when their RB gets hurt. He won't make nearly as much money, but could net him a ring. I wish him the best.

I think the wait might actually be over.
CodeMonkey replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There have been these "Something feels different now." threads every year for many years. It's cool that you feel that way, and why not enjoy your Bills fandom. But you might want to see how it feels after a few games when teams are trying to win before you go too far -
No matter how nice of a stadium the Pegulas build, and how nice of a facelift they give parts of the city. It is still Buffalo NY. Low incomes and slow economy dictate how much money fans can afford for a 8 day a season entertainment package. Bills fans are some of the most loyal in the league, but at the end of the day, you can't get blood from a stone. If the league decides revenue trumps fan loyalty, that will be that. For Bills fans everywhere, I hope that day never comes.

One Boston Team down....
CodeMonkey replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I guess if you call losing in the finals "one team down". Where have the Sabres been since the final game of the regular season? -
McDermott and the Golden State Warriors
CodeMonkey replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too much actually. When KD went down with a injury, the Toronto fans were applauding. The Raps players had to tell then to act like they have some class. -
Training Camp Likely More Abbreviated This Year
CodeMonkey replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its actually quite simple. The players stay on site during camp, they stay in the dorms. That makes them readily available for impromptu meetings, provides a team environment for them to live, eat, and play as a group and not go home every night. The have state of the art equipment and facilities there, because the Bills provide them. And as mentioned, a lot of PR value. Multiple reasons to be there with few to none not to. Plus the owners wife/president has big ties to Rochester. Do the math -
When did “Defense End” become “Edge Rusher?”
CodeMonkey replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably ever since it became a pass-first league. -
Bills 2019 schedule officially released
CodeMonkey replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All 1PM games except for one (maybe 2). LOVE IT! Not sure how anyone can view this as a non-favorable schedule. Last years records of this years opponents. Interesting too how the Bills play in the same stadium 2 weeks in a row and it's not the Ralph NYJ 4-12 NYG 5-11 Bengals 6-10 Pats 11-5 * Titans 9-7 * Fish 7-9 Eagles 9-7 * Skins 7-9 Browns 7-8-1 Denver 6-10 Cowgirls 10-6 * Ravens 10-6 * Steelers 9-6 * Combined 100-106-1 6 opponents over .500 (1 we play twice) -
The NFL never misses an opportunity to extract money from its fanbase.

Are you embarrassed to wear Bills gear?
CodeMonkey replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I associate wearing team jerseys or t-shirts with something children would do. Game days is the exception, but just barely. -
The Strategy of Signing Frank Gore
CodeMonkey replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whew man that is some looooong leaps there It's a old guy looking to wind down his career. You think that translates into young players in their prime thinking that they want to play in Buffalo? -
And this is exactly the problem when trying to sign top WR talent. If you are a WR looking to make a name for himself to get the big $$$ contract or someone looking for a ring, are you going to bet on Josh Allen learning to be an accurate passer, and the Buffalo Bills, toilet bowl dwellers for the past 2 decades, building an offensive line? Or more directly to your point, would you be willing to be one of the WRs the Bills put around Josh Allen to see *if* he is the guy?

How can you possibly have a SECOND team that you root for?
CodeMonkey replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't. In fact if it wasn't for the Bills I wouldn't watch any American football. But it isn't a difficult concept. The Bills have sucked for decades. Someone might have an emotional attachment to the Bills based on family or having grown up in the area. But it's not unreasonable that they might want to also "root" for a team with enough talent to make a deep run into the playoffs every few years. -
Two HUGE Coaching Names Who Almost Came to Buffalo
CodeMonkey replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most people value quality of life over a job. This is particularly true when you can get the same job in multiple locations, with all paying multi-millions of dollars. You pick the one that would make yourself and your family the happiest. Football isn't the most important thing in the world, in fact far from it. Spoken like a true Billiever -
Daboll encouraged by Allen’s progress
CodeMonkey replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, just a fluff piece. Now if he had said "Daboll discouraged by Allen’s progress" ... then we would have something to talk about -
Could the Bills be any better set up at QB for the future?
CodeMonkey replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the kid doesn't progress and is the same the next few years as he was this past year, then yes, the Bills could be better setup at QB. If, however, he does progress and grow into a solid NFL starter or more, then the Bills are certainly sitting pretty at that position.
