A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
CodeMonkey replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Overall agree completely. Just disagree on 2 things: Best Shot: I agree the Titans played their hearts out, but "we got the Titan's absolute best game" with the injuries they had on the defensive side of the ball simply is not possible IMO. The Play: "I don't blame McD for going for it and understand why." I do. He is supposed to know better, and the topper was the play call as you mentioned. But, Josh yells to the sideline to go for it every 4th down less than 5 yards it seems. Maybe he will learn a valuable lesson from yesterday. All in all it was a fun game to watch and the Bills showed well. Just need to improve more in both play and in-game coaching decisions before they will be bringing home the big prize. And, Henry is a freak ... period -
Happens here too, even for wins.

The Bills are officially the betting favorites to win the Superbowl
CodeMonkey replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. After the titans 4 more JV teams (fish, jags, jets, colts). Not sure I like this creampuff (as it turned out) schedule. But I was real happy to see how the Bills played on both sides of the ball last night against the chiefs. The chiefs now at 2-3 obviously aren't what they were the past few years, but still a decent team that was home. -

Now we see what this years Bills team is. Lost to a mediocre steelers team week 1 and crushed 3 JV teams since. Time to see if they are contenders or pretenders. I honestly don't know which a this point.

Does anybody go to the stadium just to tailgate?
CodeMonkey replied to r00tabaga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are many who feel the same as you do. My wife is one. She loves the "event" and being inside the stadium whereas I prefer comfort and a better view of the game. There were games with not great weather she was at that when she eventually made it home she commented how I was the smarter of us, as I served her the leftover chili, wings, pizza etc while she warmed up and dried off I do miss the atmosphere and people of the pinto tailgate though. Edit: Today was another one -

I imagine private lots wouldn't care. -

Yeah a OTA antenna would certainly be easier, and I agree that the picture is great that way, better than my cable, and the audio is DD 5.1. You pick the game with the NFL package or redzone with a dish though First world decisions huh Yes ... yes it does -

I absolutely would but I live in Rochester. I have a portable sat dish and thought more than once about fixing up a rig to watch the games there. But it's so nice to be in my comphy chair, in my nice warm dry house, watching in HD and surround sound, enjoying as much of my reasonably priced beers and food as I like and not having to drive, and no commercials so it's done in 90 minutes or so (recording) That snaps me back to reality -
I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!!!!!!
CodeMonkey replied to R. Rich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh. One game. Looked to me like the Bills read too much of their press. McCoach can use the mistakes, including his own, and wake the team up. Yeah they sucked serious a$$ today, but all is not lost -
Tua and the fish managed to beat the pats today. On paper the Bills win. But if the same Bills team as today shows up, 0-2.

Cam About To Re-Sign With New England
CodeMonkey replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 easy wins for the Bills, sweet. -
Because they make money on it. Pepsi paid $10mil and the talentless scrub paid $7mil. I think the ratings are partly due to the fact that in general, fan interest in the NFL product has gone down as well. In my unscientific personal example, among the people I know, interest in football in general is considerably lower than it was 10-20 years ago. Add to that the whole kneeling thing as well ticking people off. It's still the most watched sport in the US to be sure, but it isn't what it once was IMO.

Theory on why Allen struggles against KC

Yeah losing to Brady again, in the SB, would have caused the suicide prevention hotlines in Buffalo to melt down. -
Theory on why Allen struggles against KC
CodeMonkey replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Basically IMO the Bills are a pass only offense. The KC defense including coaching is very good against the pass. The Bills had no answer either game. And with Mahomes and the weapons he has, they were going to score. The Bills couldn't keep up and got frustrated. To compete with KC , and quite frankly take the next step, they will need to not be one dimensional on offense, get a running game (including the ability to run block) more than just Josh Allen. Josh Allen made incredible advances this past off season and that is the biggest reason for the teams success this season. To take the next step will require some GM and coaching advances this off season. Which I'm confident this team has the ability to do. -
Plus if you look at the age of some of the weapons Mahomes has, they will be needing to retool in a couple years. Who knows what happens then.
-
I disagree with this. It was childish and showed a complete lack of discipline. In the big dust up I understand Feliciano's actions and excuse them for the reasons you stated because he likely did not see Josh instigating it, but only saw the KC player jawing at Josh. But Dawkins was inexcusable and he should have been ejected.
-
You make good points, but he was A problem, just not the only problem. He got torched much more than normal. But KC just has too much firepower.
-
I read somewhere a while back that teams have been keeping the QBs apart during the week, not watching film etc together, in case one of them did test positive. Didn't Cam Newton test positive during the season but his backup played?
-
That is true if there is a point to winning the game like a higher seed. You don't want him rusty either so a little play is good. But I'm thinking coaches, players, owners, GM and fans all want this to be a "statement" game on the national stage against a hated team and head coach.

2020 MVP Race - Has Mahomes been incredibly lucky?
CodeMonkey replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you think the MVP voters are looking at dropped interceptions? That they are pouring over stats down to that minutia? Touchdowns, game winning drives maybe, but I'd be shocked if they spent a lot of time researching season stats and go more by their gut feel of the season. Most improved, Allen hands down. Freaking guy re-learned how to throw a football this past off season, that's insane. MVP I suspect though goes to the "sexier" team situation and better known player who, as you say, has displayed "otherworldly talent" this season as well. -
Josh vs Tua collegewise
CodeMonkey replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also remember, the quality of the defenses are lower in Josh's college situation as well. -
After the Fitz Magic performance this past weekend, I don't want the fish. Tuo is a kid who could go wild, Fitz could heave the ball 40 yards with a DE hanging off of his facemask. Give me a known quantity.
