  1. Wouldn't be a shocker if true.
  2. My daughter wrote a letter to Shaq a year or so ago. She got a 5x7 photo, robo-autographed by Shaq, but signed by Shaq's Dad with a very nice note. It means an awful lot to a kid.
  3. He cites no sources that i can see, and that seems to be strictly a opinion piece, which is probably why it was in the blog section in the first place. But fact versus opinion aside, his writing style seems at least as good as others that I have seen.
  4. I am basing my opinion on the last 15 years of ineptitude of the Bills on the field and being able to keep ticket sales at a very reasonable level. Granted Bills fans are an easy sell and are looking for reasons to Billieve, but at the end of the day sales are still good.
  5. Grass is always greener, particular after a perceived bad season. A lot of people liked and defended Marrone/Gailey etc. publicly when they held the position, not so much when they were gone. People tend to be fans of the team and whoever is employed by the team at any given time and love to blame current problems on those that have left.
  6. Good businessman, not so good football man. My opinion anyway.
  7. That article was from a blog but fair enough. "Somehow, it got all twisted up in the minds of 49ers fans–and, apparently, 49ers executives and even a player or two–that Greg Roman was forcing the 49ers offense to do things it was not exactly suited to do." So 49ers execs and a player or two are wrong and a sports reporter is right? Could be I suppose, I don't know this guy . but ...
  8. Their first and last initials are the same?
  9. Hmmmmm. "Even right tackle Anthony Davis bizarrely assumed all that and was angry at Roman for screwing up the 49ers’ offensive focus." So do we believe a blogger, or someone actually on the offense?
  10. #1 - Apparently no 2nd interviews except the Bills. Other teams wanting to evaluate other options. #3 - Polian apparently said no thanks after Marrone and Orton left. It was not a case of Pegula saying no to Polian. #4 - Pegula has not minded spending money on the Sabres either so money does not seem to be a issue with him. How that translates to wins remains to be seen with the Bills. But my main reason for commenting was the Twitter reference. Maybe I'm just old, but I cannot see how "trending on Twitter" is a measure of any relevance other than a fleeting social media one. As soon as the Jets hire one, he will be trending on Twitter as well I suspect.
  11. If nothing else, it should be a fun ride! "Rex Ryan’s incredible run as the Jets’ leading man ended in spectacular, Chernobyl-level disaster. But does anyone doubt he’ll be back — bigger than ever?" http://grantland.com/features/rexs-last-stand/
  12. Will be interesting to see how/if the new HC and OC try and revive Spiiler as well.
  13. Neutral. I consider him an upgrade to Marrone both in game and for making halftime adjustments as well as the PR pluses. But he is a below .500 coach so far and very defensive minded, and the Bills currently have Schwartz for that. Could be great, or a bust, or more likely somewhere in between. Time will tell.
  14. Well yeah. And the Bills just hired the loser of those games But it is obviously sour grapes on the reporters part.
  15. The knock, whether you subscribe to it or not is up to you, is that the Bills are what he had at the Jets. Stronger defense than offense. And his fault or not, it didn't work out well there.
  16. As always since we were not present for the meetings. But since it happened before a lot of candidates were available it does seem logical. Doesn't mean it's a bad hire, could actually mean the Bills were smart and got the man they wanted before anyone else made a move.
  17. My favorite line ... "Does anyone really believe he'll take the job? He'll go to CBS before he goes to Buffalo." My second favorite line ... "Man, F'ck Rex. He didn't want to come here. All he wanted to do was stay in his comfort zone. He didn't want to leave the AFC North." Man does that thread remind me of here. Some posters pissing all over the falcons front office and other posts like "Some of you hating on AB don't even deserve to have a team to root for."
  18. Its also the smart answer. The NFL rules have passed the point of being even ridiculous, and are about 90% of the reason for the inconsistency and complaints.
  19. In my opinion, Rex was a better fit in Atl due to the fact that the defense is the bigger mess there. I suspect that's also why Atl fans are disappointed.
  20. Agreed. But they also did not wait until the SB was over (or apparently even this weekends games) when the other coordinators were available either. Like I said, If Whaley is 100% on board that this is the correct football move and not just a PR one then there was no need to wait. I also understand that we will never know one way or the other. I am no expert, but I am lukewarm on the hire myself. But at least I'm not scratching my head saying "WTF?" like I was after the Gailey hire
  21. Bottom line, Pegula, Whaley, and Brandon got the guy they wanted. For better or for worse remains to be seen, but Rex is VERY familiar with the AFCE on day 1. Other teams are waiting for the end of the season to go after some of the better assistants for their HC I'm sure, and the Bills used that to their advantage to get Rex. I'm puzzled by the Bills going with a defensive minded HC given the current state of the team and the fact that they have a strong DC already in Schwartz, but I defer to the experience of the Bills FO and assume they know what they are doing. My one hope is that this is not a knee jerk reaction forced by Pegula to get a big name fast and that Whaley at the very least truly thinks hiring Rex is the right football move.
  22. EJ is no Kaep. At least not now. But I get your point.
  23. Why would you hire a defensive minded HC then tell him that?
  24. How is this guy with training QBs is the biggest question IMO. Whoever the OC is, that's more than likely going to define how far the Bills go for the next few seasons. It's a pretty sure bet Rex won't be doing that.
  25. 5 year $5.5mil per deal according to ESPN. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12149930/buffalo-bills-hire-rex-ryan-next-head-coach
