  1. Good thing Pegula has deep pockets now with all the co-executive-assistant to the co-assistant to the assistant to the [fill in the blank] coaches
  2. That's how it is with Rex, all or nothing. Either the rise will be spectacular, or the crash and burn will be. He is already starting with his playoffs promise, It is sure to be a fun ride, no matter how it ends.
  3. They should hire Manning as their OC.
  4. We can only hope. But that story was coming out just after the end of last night's Sabres game where a team that had lost their previous 6 games came to Buffalo, with a couple prominent ex-sabres on the roster, and spanked the Sabres 7-0 to get the Sabres to 14-28-3. [And please, no "they are trying to lose" stuff. ]

  6. Of course. Particularly when said coach didn't exactly set the world on fire in his last job which got him canned. But at the same time, fans have also earned the right to get excited at any new hire, particularly one that is as personable and likable as Rex. To each his/her own.
  7. If not now, when?
  8. Yeah it's the non-linearity of it that is off for me. I suppose if an owner wanted more direct involvement having all 3 entities report directly to him is a good way to accomplish it.
  9. Two F-Bombs actually. But forgiven because of how they are used.
  10. Interesting, thanks. So Whaley reports directly to Pegula as well then? Is this the norm across NFL teams and for that matter other sports like hockey? Ted Nolan reports to Pegula do you know? I understand that Whaley would not fire the HC without talking it over with both Brandon and Pegula even if he had the power. But it just seems weird to me.
  11. Yes, that is exactly what some people want. For that though just stick to buffalobills.com
  12. Yeah that was mentioned prior to hiring Rex, but I never heard why. Does anyone know why the HC would not report to the GM or even the president, but instead right to the owner? What would be the purpose of circumventing the normal chain of command in this case?
  13. I don't know. Seems like a fair question. Did you expect them all to be "Rex, please tell us again how the Bills are going to the playoffs this season" or other rah rah powder puff questions? This is Rex remember. He isn't going to be phased by that crap like some Bills fans are.
  14. Well I guess he toned it down from superbowl
  15. Wouldn't it be interesting if Schwartz went to the Jets, with Gailey as the OC as well.
  16. Well OK. But only until halfway through the next season. If the Bills aren't well above .500 at that point it's back on like a MoFo!
  17. Which FredEx opinion? That one or this one: Bottom line, he is a player on the Bills team who is a leader and wants to stay on the Bills. Wouldn't be surprised if he really believed each statement, but what you hear from any current employee of the Bills will be more or less the same thing.
  18. Maybe. But maybe as some suggest he REALLY wanted to coach and was afraid he wouldn't end up with a place to land after Atlanta and SF were dragging their heels. Is there any way he can know for certain the Bills will get a good QB? Is there a glut of them available? Will one be there in the 2nd round of this draft (or even the 1st) ? Rex will do the best he can with what he is given. Hopefully it turns out better than it did with the Jets.
  19. Well, even if the Bills were his 3rd choice, that doesn't mean he won't give his full effort to turn the team around. Whether he can, or will the Bills be the Jets part 2 as some suggest, remains to be seen. But with Rex at least it won't be boring.
  20. What just happened is exactly why coordinators should be allowed to leave. Ryan, a defense specialist by nature, becomes the HC of the Bills. Would you really want to force Schwartz to be Rex's lap dog? What happened makes more sense, Schwartz leaves and Rex hires his lap dog from the Jets.
  21. He is the Bills coach. Therefore he gets the support, even from those who thought he sucked when the Bills beat him and his Jets defense twice not long ago. We will see how it plays out.
  22. So Rex runs the defense as he did in NY with assistance from Thurman. This is not a shock. i guess now we will get to see first hand how much of a defensive genius ole Sexy Rexy is. He certainly has been handed all the talent on that side of the ball he could ever ask for.
