  1. Listened to ESPN radio (Mike & Mike) on the way to work and they were of course talking about Suh. But their ranking of the AFCE is: 1) Pats 2) Bills 3) Fish (basically equal to the Bills but slight edge to Bills because of McCoy) 4) Jets But said if Tannehill lives up to his potential this season, which he could, they will be in 2nd and nipping at the heals of NE because they would be the only 2 teams with a QB.
  2. Per cheerleader, no. But $264,000 to probably 1 lawyer who paid a couple paralegals to do the actual work, it's not bad coin.
  3. So what, this means the Bills go with Manuel and Cassel this season? Who else is left now?
  4. Frank Gore plans to sign with Colts http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12454762/frank-gore-sign-deal-indianapolis-colts
  5. I feel almost exactly the opposite. He has let the GMs do what they like which in general is the correct course of action for an owner ... except in a case such as this where loyalty by the team to a more than deserving player is being subverted. In this case I like what Pegula is doing in making sure the Bills remain a organization with integrity.
  6. That is probably the most logical argument I have seen on this matter to date
  7. Actually not yet I believe. But he is a 2 time SB winner and went to the pro bowl ... so yes this is very silly indeed.
  8. I am happy with the Bills D line as it is, particularly at 11:46 today after they announce Hughes But only crazed Bills fans would think that Suh was going to somehow magically suck now. I for one do not want to see what he could (and probably will) do to the Bills O line and QB twice a year. Would have much preferred him out west somewhere.
  9. That's what came to my mind when I first saw that as well. I think both sides got what they needed with the Kiko/Shady trade. But getting Gore solidifies the trade for Philly in my mind. Maybe some of the eagles fans that are out on the ledge over the Shady trade will come inside now
  10. Why do people get so pissy when both sides make the financially correct decision (assuming it does happen). If the Bills offer 9 and someone else offers 10, think about that for one minute people ... that's one MILLION dollars we are talking about! This is his business and his families future, he isn't just some Bills homer hanging out on a fan board. It's real easy to spend other people's money.
  11. True. Which is also why I agree with the premise of the OP. With the likelihood that the Bills will be going with at best a below average QB this season, defenses will crowd the box to try and get the Bills to beat them in the air. With a serviceable RB this is a good defensive plan. The Bills needed a RB that can still be productive, even with that going on. McCoy has shown in the past to be that kind of a RB. FredEx is simply too old to be a every down back, and Spiller is ... well ... Spiller. The other Bills backs are in the serviceable category. My ideal situation would have been to pick up a good RB in FA and not have to give up Alonso. But I can't really blame the Bills for jumping on this opportunity when it came up either.
  12. That is a good point about the trade and not a FA signing
  13. Do you think that is what Cassel was told by the Bills prior to signing? And as a followup, if he outperforms Manuel in camp and preseason, is Manuel still the starter opening day?
  14. Different teams so the pie chart is apples and oranges (though very pretty), But who gives a **** about locker room nonsense. Show me the yards.
  15. I'm really not sure what to think about this trade. Productive RBs are not that difficult to find, McCoys cap hit seems pretty high for a RB, there are others coming available in FA such as DeMarco Murray, DeAngelo Williams, Chris Johnson, Peyton Hillis and soon apparently Steven Jackson that would not have cost Alonso. On the other hand, McCoy is still a good RB even if he is starting to decline, and LBs in general aren't that hard to find either. Ultimately I think both teams got what they needed short term. But I suspect long term Philly made out better.
  16. He seems to agree with everyone else with regards to the quality of this years QB FAs huh.
  17. Rex is half football coach, 25% showman, and 25% bull **** artist. You know that going in. But he should know Sanchize as good as anyone, so if he thinks Sanchize is the best available for the Bills right now, I'm willing to go along. And all Bills fans should be concerned. Barring some amazing work from Whaley, the Bills will be lucky to have even a mediocre QB again next season.
  18. An interesting take. And Cassel doesn't make this guys top 5. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25086510/josh-mccown-signing-with-browns-puts-bills-in-tough-qb-spot
  19. If Rex is happy enough with him to bring him to the Bills, that's good enough for me. At least as a stop-gap.
  20. By default he may have to be ... so yes. But it has nothing to do with his abilities.
  21. This would seem to me to be a silly poll. The obvious answer is no. P. Manning, T. Brady, A, Rogers are franchise QBs. No one can seriously think EJ Manuel is going to get to that level based on his work to date. The 59 (as of now) who voted yes are 19-0 baby vote with your heart and not your head people.
  22. Manuel is Whaleys boy.
  23. Well no one can say he doesn't try hard to fire up the fans wherever he is employed
