A Few Thought about the Jets game, in no particular order
Buddo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jest have got a great Run D. 2nd overall, I think last year. No surprise they were stout again this one, at least to start with. Do we want better from our guys? For sure, but we never remotely looked like losing, and the gameplan worked pretty well without them. -
The title says it, but I want to make some extra observations. The man made plenty of plays, but it was some of the additional things I noticed. The pass that Allen missed to Knox, had Diggs pointing to Knox, to show Josh that Knox was open. Whenever he was open, if it wasn’t a designed play to him, he was signalling. He made some tough catches, where he took hits, but also made some balls that weren’t thrown perfectly, look like they were, especially the first down he caught ‘on the slide’. The trade, to me, looks, well worth it. The man is a baller.

Gameday Thread Bills vs. Jets 1st Half
Buddo replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem isn't the call - it was successful. The problem is Josh fumbling. They might have to stop him rushing much at all if he keeps this up, fcol. -
I wonder if the opt-outs are having second thoughts
Buddo replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt there are many regrets yet. It's been one game. After 3 weeks and full slates of games, with no cases cropping up, then maybe there will be 'some' regret. I doubt any decision was made in a vacuum, and there will be many variables to do with personal circumstances, that will be in play, many of which won't alter just because games are being played safely. -
If McD and his coaches are 'appointing' captains, I can see where they would want to freshen up the list a bit, and also hope to get a reaction from the new guys. Both Dawkins and Poyer just got paid, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was something done to keep their heads in the game, so to speak. If so, it's not bad psychology, imho. Mind you, such is my faith in both of the above, I doubt it's really necessary.

Here's another one to think about, Wishbone Ash - Wishbone Ash.
-
There were a few who thought Foster would get picked up by Green Bay. Kudos to them. I like our 'swap' though, as Kumerow gives us height, if he makes it to the roster at any point. With Diggs and Brown, we have speed, the extra variation could be handy down the stretch, or in the future. While people generally have been dismissive overall of GBs WRs, if Rodgers liked him, there's got to be something there to work with.
-
Pretty much this. While Beane probably has decent relationships with FO staff in Carolina, I don't think there will be much more in terms of their releases or FA to be coming here. Time moves on, and we are becoming our own roster, with different FAs and draft picks, and as more time goes on, a likely different philosophy.

Tre White agrees to contract extension
Buddo replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tbh, I think that's a great deal for both sides. If Tre is locked up through 2025, then we get him for around $12 million per, which is terrific in respect of cap management. The big guarantee gets Tre his security, and also gives him the chance of another payday. I don't know how much will be coming 'off the books' this year, but I would think there's a chance we could also get Milano done, especially as he supposedly 'just wants to be here.' I'm not thinking in terms of any discount, but if a player wants to be somewhere, then negotiations always go smoother. -
Tre White agrees to contract extension
Buddo replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It ‘started’ from what Spotrac has suggested/predicted, what Milano will get, which iirc, was $14 million per, or close to. It wasn’t someone’s random guess. -
It is a viable solution, if you then get rid of 'politics' entirely. As someone else above explained. Posters who can't respect that, get banned, permanently. Somewhat related, one of the 'failures' of 'ignore' as a solution, is the simple fact that while someone's political viewpoint may be anathema, they may well have superior football knowledge, that you can learn from. Unless I'm very much mistaken, 'ignore' covers all forums.

I think there's a lot in this. It was undoubtedly a relatively easy schedule for the Bills last season. It's not so much this year. The one observation I will make, is that we did play up (mostly) to the level of the opposition (e.g. Cowgirls), so I'm relatively confident in our ability to hang with just about anyone, providing we do execute properly. The D is legit, and the offense still has plenty of room to grow. If it does, then we can certainly believe in the Bills as a potential 'juggernaut'. 90% plus, is a tough benchmark to maintain, but the good thing is, the amount of talent on this team, will have you winning the majority of their games.
-
Not an exhorbitant price to pay, tbh. Depends though, on the sort of contract he gets. Maybe he simply just wanted out of Jax, and is prepared to be 'reasonable'. While I think we could have afforded the picks, I'm not sure adding another big contract into the mix, is the right move atm, not when we are going to be looking to pay our own soon - i.e. Milano and White. We have bolstered the pass rush this off season with Addison and Epenesa, so we should be good for this year. Just have to keep the eyes peeled for another young rusher in years to come, either draft or FA.

My sincere condolences on the loss. Words just aren't enough for anyone who loses their mother.

Will Beane make a trade before cuts?
Buddo replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a lot of it has to do with having far better depth, generally. This leads to interest from other teams, and they are often willing to part with a lower round pick to get someone they like, rather than risk not getting them through the waiver wire. -
COVID-19 - Facts and Information Only Topic

https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/moderna-and-pfizers-covid-19-vaccine-candidates-require-ultra-low-temperatures-raising-questions-about-storage-distribution-2020-08-27 Someone posted this in the PPP thread, but I think it deserves to go here. The articles gives storage conditions for a few of the touted vaccines, and it's not pretty reading, as they need to be stored at very low temps. Means that there are a lot less places that will be able to successfully store, and hence administer, these potential vaccines. Doesn't apply to all of them, but it could well be an issue 'down the line'. [Here's another article about it. This is pretty typical for mRNA vaccines by themselves. I don't think it's as big a deal as that paper makes out for the US. For example, the Pfizer vaccine can be refrigerated for 24-48 hrs. Vaccines can also be sent to community clinics in dry ice/styrofoam - the Pfizer drug substance for the vaccines got shipped off to filter and fill that way. So vaccine for clinics at community centers can be sent there on dry ice then stored in the fridge for a 2 day vaccination clinic. It does make the supply chain more challenging, no doubt. -94F is a -70C deep freeze, which is standard equipment at most hospitals. https://www.fiercepharma.com/manufacturing/pfizer-moderna-s-covid-19-shot-rollouts-could-be-ice-as-analysts-question-cold ] -
Bills announce no fans for 1st 2 home games
Buddo replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tbh, something that struck me, was the implications of trying to track and trace vast quantities of people, if there was an 'outbreak'. The assumption being there could be anything between 15 to 25,000 needing to be dealt with. Looks like a logistical nightmare to me, and something that no one will want to be having to do, even assuming the resources are there to do it. I would rather see a whole football season with no fans present, than one where nobody is sure of how things are going to pan out, and has serious potential to fail. The NFL needs to actually make one set of rules for all, and then enforce them, even if, sadly, it is the lowest common denominator, of 'no fans'. While nothing beats actually 'being there', I'd bet that an awful lot of sports fans spend enough time watching from their armchairs, that we can manage to put up with it for a year. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
Buddo replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The reality is that a World Health Organisation, should be paying attention to the effects of pollution, as pollution, actually affects health. https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk0014S9tydicOuFLeN6XG3p3ftalWg:1598184538560&source=univ&tbm=isch&q=before+and+during+lockdown+pictures+of+city+pollution&client=firefox-b-d&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj7-dKtpbHrAhVLilwKHUxOAh8QsAR6BAgKEAE&biw=1849&bih=978 There are a plethora of images through that link, that show visually, before and during lockdown, pollution. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Buddo replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As an organisation, one would assume that the giveaway is in their title - World Health Organisation. The difference in quality of air etc. in many cities around the world, has been startling in the difference of before and during lockdowns. The amount of pollution in the world, is ridiculous, tbh, and I would suggest that the WHO would be remiss if it wasn't taking notice of it, as it simply does affect peoples health. Tbh, I don't think the argument has to be about global warming, or climate change, per se, but it should be about trying to get places back up and running where there isn't the same degree of pollution. https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk01vGTo3vkn-vuwsbEd5TPCKUzDrbg:1598093507977&source=univ&tbm=isch&q=before+and+during+lockdown+pictures+of+city+pollution&client=firefox-b-d&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi6gfGe0q7rAhWHasAKHfjlCPQQsAR6BAgJEAE -
Singletary put himself in Gore's footsteps last year, trying to learn from him. Probably took priority over trying to help someone else. Moss is also the same age as Singletary, yet finished his senior year. It's surprising what difference a year of extra maturity can make. It's also true that different people get on with each other differently. Maybe Moss understands irony. Your last line might also be truth.

Training camp thread - daily or weekly?
Buddo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daily, as I find it easier to keep track of where things are, and there's a lot less chance of missing something I might be interested in. BTW, you do do a great job of getting info out Yolo, so thanks for that, whichever way this goes. -
Training Camp 8/20 - live hitting in Bills Stadium
Buddo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You make some valid points. The counter to that is that this WR class was incredibly deep, and Beane himself thought that there were late round guys who had the talent to replace established pros. It only takes an injury or two to WRs elsewhere, and all of a sudden the PS around the league will be being looked at hard. All in all though, it's great that there is serious competition at the back end of the WR group. For too long we have had to hope someone will 'come through', now it looks that whoever wins the battles, will be good to go.
