  1. If Nix has upgraded the talent as many of his supporters claim, the Bills should be in the playoffs next year. The talent with decent coaching = instant improvement. Otoh, the coaching may not be the only failure.
  2. How many HCs get to hire 3 DCs in 4 yrs because the D stinks?
  3. The offseason is the high point of many Bills seasons. Too many.

  5. Another coach that was brought back for a 4th try was Romeo Crennel in Cleveland. Of course, in his 3rd year, the Browns went 10-6, so there was some evidence things were headed in the right direction. Jim Schwartz falls in the same boat with the Lions, going 10-6 in his 3rd year (last year). On the other hand, it isn't easy to find re-tread head coaches like Gailey that have been given a real long leash to foul it up. Kotite only got 2 years with the Jets. Mangini only 2 with the Browns. Dom Capers did get 4 with the Texans, but both of his gigs were literally with expansion teams, so not sure how comparable that is...
  6. Chan Failey (.319 with Bills, .418 overall) has yet to reach Rich Kotite's (.417) level of success with the Bills. Another loss this weekend, and he'll be below Kotite in career winning percentage. Remarkable turnaround from Jauron indeed.
  7. I think he was talking about Trent Edwards.
  8. Continuity. Stick to the plan. Even if the plan changes with every morning shower.
  9. The Osweiler comment was .
  10. The thing is that some fans view Tarvaris as a better QB than Fitzpicks. They are actually quite similar stats wise. Jackson has a better record in fewer starts and a better QB rating. Fitz has a slightly better completion percentage. Both average less than 6 yards per attempt over their careers.
  11. And, one could, from the context and later clarifications, take Gailey's comment to mean exactly that: when CJ gets winded, he takes himself out of the game. And, like you mention, CJ confirmed himself that he did in fact take himself out of the game. BTW, didn't Thurman tweet something about how he'd never have taken himself out of the game to catch his breath or whatever one wants to call it? He might have told Jim to call someone else's number in the huddle, but he'd never take himself out.
  12. Would Nix working as a scout and Gailey working as an OC really even be a demotion for either of them?
  13. The Baby = Cabbage
  14. Maybe they saved some money and never issued Tarvaris a uniform.
  15. Speaking of better talent, has there ever been a team with a #1 overall and #3 overall pick on their DL that finished dead last in rush defense?
  16. A chance for Gailey to finally beat Rex...
  17. The bolded is the exact opposite of Gailey, as far from a clone as possible really. As far as the defense, the Bucs defense was aging and the cap was becoming an issue. The Tampa-2 defense was starting to ebb league-wide, and while a painful decision to start dismantling that defense, it would have happened if it was Allen/Gruden or two Bozo clones.
  18. From a pop warner O and bendable D to a spread O and historically inept D. The record says this team has gotten worse than the one Marv built.
  19. Wannstedt has been here 2 yrs. First led the worst unit on the team - linebackers. Second led the worst D in team history. The only reason to promote him again after more failure is for the sake of failure continuity and to try and spread it higher and further.
  20. exactly. you should win even if the D gives up 50 pts and 50% on 3rd down
  21. ok. that is long gone and not a worry still don't understand insurance that was never ready to take a snap
  22. Do they save money by keeping him inactive? What's the point of an insurance plan that would never be used?
  23. A second 3rd pick for Nix in 3 years.
  24. On paper, there is pedigree, I agree. But the results and eye test say this defense is horrific. Fewell may had plenty of bending, but this D is a total cluster.
  25. You are entitled to your opinion. Wanny's D sucks in my opinion. Terrible against the run, dropping coverages, scored on in huge bunches, and not giving effort.
