  1. Is there a quality control coach in need of a promotion?
  2. I've seen Richard Sherman interviewed before. In the interview in question, I'd say I saw a young man that was still fueled by the emotion of the moment. This is a kid that has used emotional fuel, particularly of being the disrespected underdog, to overcome very long odds repeatedly as an athlete. Has anyone questioned why the network shoved a microphone in Richard Sherman's face when he was "jacked up" like that? Think they'll do it again?
  3. I agree. (Though his rebuild of the Bills defense ended up with the historically stupendously horrific Wannstedt defense. Ugh.) His plan was to pour resources into the defense and see what Chan Gailey could do with the offensive personnel that Dick Jauron hadn't been able to use effectively. Still, one could easily argue that his plan should have been more malleable and dynamic. They really didn't have all the time in the world to get it right. Gailey was fired and Nix moved out of the GM office after 3 years in which they failed to be even as good as Jauron (who happened to coach more games in Buffalo than anyone since Marv Levy).
  4. Ted Cottrell?
  5. The angle that's difficult to applaud is that when you draft and develop a "big splash" guy on your own roster, "waiting for the dust to settle" implies that you are philosophically against signing the guy. And, if you don't even try to sign your own excellent players, what does that say about you as an organization? Do players and agents think your organization is totally committed to winning? What about running up a white flag until the shooting stops suggests that an organization is highly motivated to kick some tail?
  6. The passive approach is bound to work at some point. Be patient.
  7. From an article today by Janie McCauley (AP):
  8. What ever happened to the Buddy Nix philosophy in which he stated the money was for keeping the talent you develop in-house? Now the money is only for American Pickers style bargain hunting? Well, let's hope they find some real good players in the collapsed barn after the dust settles.
  9. Not sure "we all" remember he wasn't great in coverage. There were a vocal few that had the take he was the next thing to, if not, a bona fide shut-down corner, who could also play the run when he was here. That take persisted despite games where he was isolated and targeted in the passing game by opponents. He's not the worst player of all time (to quote Marrone) "obviously". However, he was the first player taken by the Marv Levy GM'd Bills and his selection as well as the entire 2006 draft class (the DB gold rush), which can be evaluated now, was emblematic of mediocre to even downright poor evaluation and decision making.
  10. If he leaves, what do the Bills do? Promote the inside LB coach like they did after Edwards was canned?
  11. Smoking pot could explain a few things actually...
  12. Well, he did use his "phone a friend" option when he called Wade Phillips about 7 games into his first season so as to figure out how to get his 3-4 off the mat.
  13. Not enough of a "rush" in hiring a known producer.
  14. Well, our scouts had him with the same grade as Haloti Ngata. PS: McCargo was more productive than Aaron Maybin in terms of tackles. http://www.pro-footb.../M/McCaJo22.htm http://www.pro-footb.../M/MaybAa99.htm http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TrouTo00.htm
  15. Maybe Mike Zimmer doesn't know Monte Kiffin? Are you a mind reader?
  16. That reminds me. The Kiffins are available.
  17. It's hard to see why there aren't 82 calls a day.
  18. Well, he did have a number of top 10 defenses.
  19. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000314081/article/peyton-manning-called-lions-to-endorse-jim-caldwell?campaign=Twitter_atl Sounds like a solid QB coach. Then again, who needs a QB coach?
  20. Well, the server doesn't seem to have an import button. Hmm.
  21. Does it say how much he learned from Peyton Manning though?
  22. We'll try to get some bottles and writing materials to you.
  23. Especially when Dave Wannstedt is available.
  24. I think you're joking about being serious.
