  1. I think you missed my main point. It might have been useful to open the playbook up with the last QB, seeing as how, you know, not really trying and holding back cost him his job and all.
  2. Does the title of this thread mean that the offense was "holding back" and not really trying? Which resulted in EJ Manuel getting benched. So now, they are going to use the full playbook with the guy that's been with the team a month? Yikes.
  3. Wait. What? Is Orton trying on that pudgy out-of-shape look? Did you see him at Dunkin Donuts or something?
  4. I wouldn't trust his OL either, if I was him. Hopefully, Orton brings a lot more "Fitz" under center than "Manuel". For all of Fitzpick's faults, pre-snap reads and getting the ball out is not on the list.
  5. Not to mention that if EJ Manuel is completely destroyed by someone pointing out Kyle Orton is a veteran, then it's not really the vocalization of that overt reality that is the problem.
  6. Sounds like this: The son runs downstairs and opens his gifts on Christmas morning. The one in the big silver box is exactly what he needs. Yippee! Hooray! His dad pries it from his fingers. "Sorry, son. This shiny new thing isn't ready yet. You can't play with it for at least three years." "Dad, I'm going to get fired before then."
  7. I'll return the favor and point out that it is your opinion that other personnel men around the NFL do not snicker at deals their competition makes. I'm sure you are not going to contend that you know every personnel man in the NFL personally as well as what they are doing at all times.
  8. I'm curious. Why is that hard to understand or believe? Benjamin, Cooks, Hurns, and Evans have all posted better numbers so far than Watkins. They only cost their respective teams one 1st round pick. I realize the numbers don't tell everything. To that, wasn't it Watkins that was dropping balls in the last game and the words "poorly thrown" being used? Seems like if you were going to spend two 1sts on a receiver to help a QB with accuracy issues -- issues that were talked about pre-draft -- you'd take the guy that could catch very poorly thrown balls, wouldn't it? None of that really detracts from one's football woody for Sammy. Could he be a great player still? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean Whaley made a genius move here. Especially after Marrone has benched the guy the move was supposedly going to help the most.

  11. He's our Trent Dilfer.
  12. Yeah, perhaps in year one. This is year two though. The plan the entire off-season was for the trio of young guns to make a quantum leap forward and be ready to lead the Bills to the playoffs. Not only did Whaley say EJ was the QB, he backed it up with his actions all off-season.
  13. No worries. There is a "sign him to a 5 year extension now" thread around here too.
  14. Does that work for this sort of poison?
  15. The entire draft class of 2000 was way below par. Just saying.
  16. Gold star for originality on this thread...
  17. That makes it sound like Anquan is a bust. Or, maybe Watkins' hands are "more stickier than sticky flypaper".
  18. He seems like an overly optimistic Browns fan. The Bills may normally be in the hunt for a top draft pick, but they always find a way to avoid getting it.
  19. Wasn't Josh Freeman a captain?
  20. I read on a message board once, after an abysmal preseason, that professional athletes can flip it on and off like a light switch. Take it for what it's worth.
  21. Have you seen the spectacle called "Our Offensive Line"?
  22. To the OP: Well, his mom, dad, grandparents, sisters and brothers, cousins all (most likely) still billieve in him. So, no. You aren't the last Mohican.
  23. Would they take next year's first rounder?
  24. Probably the best trade up since John McCargo.
