  1. Heck, yeah! I need my pablum from ol' Jauronimo!
  2. No. I'm a parrot! Repeating various wisdoms, I've seen here.
  3. I know it's all JP's fault, but how is it that he convinced the coaches to throw on every down today? Do the Bills have any running plays at all?
  4. They still have a chance at the playoffs and there are only a little more than 3 games left. It's exactly where a team wants to be!
  5. Actually, he has. But keep kidding us. We can take it. We're Bills fans.
  6. Lynch with a 4.5 yard route on 4th and 5. Is this pre-season?
  7. Dolphins showing a lot of respect for Turk's offense going for the onsides kick.
  8. The Bills might still have a chance mathematically to make the playoffs.
  9. Are they trying to school Peters by putting a steaming pile out there again? Is this coaching staff great or what? This team is really starting to gel now.
  10. Suit up Alex Van Pelt. We want to clinic of bad QBing!
  11. Absolutely! It's crystal clear!
  12. We're a better team than we used to be.
  13. We're much better off than we were. Ask anybody.
  14. No worries. Looks like the entire offense is catatonic.
  15. We should probably re-sign him to an $80M deal.
  16. Nice running game, we have.
  17. I think more of the problem in 2005 was the offense. The offense didn't even average 17 points a game and couldn't get out of its own way. It had many of the same problems then as it does now including: a rag tag bunch of overpaid garbage FA lineman that were never consistent enough, wholly ineffective QB play, maddening play calling, and no tight end in the passing game which had Lee Evans and nothing much else.
  18. No. It's calling countering a (false) absolute. Dan's argument was that there was no one that felt TD should continue. That argument is false, as my statement said. Simon, buftex, and Mort disprove the absolute. This post may help you understand my earlier post. (And, yes, multiple threads carrying on the same conversation sucks.)
  19. Dan, There is a difference between postulating that there may be a certain point of view, and I was hinting that it may not even be a conscious decision really, and actually holding a conviction that that point of view is correct. Understand? I'll spell it out for you slowly. My opinion of Tom Donahoe is the following. He did some things very well and he did some things very poorly when he was Pres./GM in Buffalo. He was human and not hype. In the final balance, I believe he wasn't the answer because some of his mistakes overshadow his successes and I don't subscribe to the visions he explained on team building in the NFL. I can understand, because these processes are never transparent, the POV that Simon and others have presented in the past that TD could've been successful; although, I'm not convinced of that myself, I believe he is. Enjoy the game, dude. Go Bills.
  20. Most don't remember Gary Marangi or Joe Dufek, but I wonder why Alex Van Pelt isn't the punchline to Bills QB misery.
  21. Are you serious? You can't tell the difference? Your analytic skills are somewhat lacking then. You've posed a false dichotomy. Well, you are simply wrong on the non-quoted part. And your poll is clearly pulling in the name of Tom Donahoe in order to bias the result. It is the same thing as asking people either (a) can the QB play in the last 2 months improve? versus (b) wouldn't JP Losman be a better QB for this team? Anybody that has watched the games would say "yes" to (a) while most people would say "no" to (b) because few Bills fans think Losman is the answer. The quote itself is pretty simple to parse and the evidence on this board is quite clear. Yes, there are Bills fans that are unhappy with the way this team has been going through this free fall and it is not just a handful. Fans are talking about firing the coach, hiring a GM, getting a new QB, wanting new ownership, not renewing their Sunday Ticket, not buying season tickets, not caring if the team moves, quitting and becoming a fan of another team, etc. Yes, I think that it is patently obvious that many people are not satisfied with a decade of losing. Bully for you, argumentum ad populum. Most everyone agrees, including me, that Tom Donahoe wasn't the answer.
  22. These are two distinct issues conflated into one. 1. Are the Bills better now than they were 3 years ago? 2. Was the team on the correct path under Tom Donahoe and should he have been retained?
  23. Yes, many called him a sackless pu5sy for quitting on his team. You conflate that with the notion that many were unimpressed with how he coached the team and wanted him gone. In fact there is no conflict at all in fans that wanted him gone and who also felt he was a pu5sy who quit on his team. A few posters, GG to name one, defended the unpopular view. Namely, that MM might have been nothing but correct to walk away from a dysfunctional situation and that he would rise again in a different, better organization. I do. Our fearless moderator, Simon was one who said Ralph was an idiot to get rid of Donahoe and that Donahoe was doing as good a job as he could under the circumstances. Oddly, Chris Mortensen's take on it was essentially the same. Have you been on this board in the past 3 weeks much? I dare say there is more than a few fans that aren't happy with the direction of this team. But, it's nice to know that Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly are in our camp of less-than-satisfied customers. I never said Marv set up a dysfunctional front office. Wilson dumped Donahoe and in trying to figure out what to do next he called Marv. Then he asked Marv to help him out and try to get the organization back on a winning track and Marv agreed to be his "personnel GM". Yes, it would certainly be idiotic to assume that Marv masterminded a conspiracy behind the scenes with Ralph Wilson to can Donahoe and get himself established as GM so he could orchestrate Mularkey into a position where he would, according to the fortune teller's crystal ball, quit and could then proceed to blow up the team.
  24. What were your expectations of fandom and of press? Curious why you feel disappointed by the fandom and press.
