  1. On second thought, killing the clock isn't a bad idea. The defense has shown no sign of stopping Favre.
  2. Play call: sack. Keeping the momentum going there.
  3. Dan Dierdorf said the Bills are aggressive play callers on offense.
  4. Good move Dick. Using your head to let the last 20 seconds run off the clock while you figure out a play to call.
  5. Well, if he actually had position on a receiver maybe the pass rush would have time to get to Favre.
  6. Whitner is crisp toast already.
  7. How did Stewart do when Jauron was his coach? Comparing Losman to Ryan coming out of college begs the question, do you know squat about football? My posts weren't excuses. Pull your head out and stop trying to pretend any post that says anything that isn't oozing negativity about Losman is "excuses" and "defending Losman". My post was decidedly neutral and in response to posts that thought Losman could land a starting job someplace. Losman showed in Toronto that he's still not ready to be a starter, and he still needs a lot of work to get there, assuming he ever does, which I believe is pretty unlikely. I don't see him as anybody's first choice as a starter, even in a league with plenty of awful QBs. The only thing you should find unnerving about that is that it admits the slim possibility that JP might become an adequate QB someday (see Tommy Maddox) which would show those most strident about his complete worthlessness, that he'll definitely be out of the NFL next year, were wrong.
  8. What's the Bills record against 3-4 teams this year? Nuff said.
  9. Tom Brady was good in every regular season game in 07.
  10. It's obvious. If they let Hamden play then they won't be able to put him back on the bench, will have to figure out an excuse why the Chroised One wasn't playing earlier, and figure out what to do with Edwards. It'd be a big mess.
  11. Belichick doesn't keep guys that can't play on the roster, let alone in the starting lineup. Big difference.
  12. One thing that is common among teams that can and actually do run the football is that they have other "skills" players that can help out the line and block on the second level and down field. A Sam Gash or Lorenzo Neal sort of fullback can blast a LB right out of a hole. Having receivers like Hines Ward, Steve Smith, or Gage that are willing to go down field and blow a safety up. A TE that can seal the outside LB. Do the Bills have any of that?
  13. JP reminds me of a poor man's Trent Dilfer. Dilfer always had raw talent and he was adequate enough on a ball-control, defense first team to win a Super Bowl. Dilfer was a college gunslinger project, went to an awful team in Tampa, and though fans said he was "dumb" was actually like a second coach as a backup. He was an average QB on the field, never really started on an offense with any weapons, and did not live up to his 1st round pick status. Because of the 1st round thing, he is called a bust and worthless by some, but the truth is he was just distinctly average. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DilfTr00.htm
  14. JP should leave the dysfunction and QB death pit that is Buffalo behind in a heartbeat. Not all NFL franchise are created equal and especially not when it comes to coaching up raw QBs for the NFL game. Buffalo is a bad fit for Losman professionally. Losman has some natural ability, but quite frankly he has never gotten the proper coaching. I know a lot of people on this board are heavily invested in wanting him to fail completely (and chances are good that you'll be right fwiw), but his agent should try to find a place for JP to be successful. That place is not sticking him out in the middle of the action to keep flailing around cluelessly and trying to teach himself how to play QB in the NFL. JP needs excellent QB coaching first and foremost, and then maybe he'll be consistent enough to play. Without trying to correct his problems, he'll just assure that he'll continue to struggle.
  15. We're talking about the Bills FO here, remember? They may not be able to connect the dots.
  16. Who knew Stroud might face double teams this year? Sorry, Stroud is supposed to be the preeminent stud and anchor of the defense and he's got no excuses if he disappears in games.
  17. The 96 Skins ended up 9-7 (which is a winning season, though disappointing). That was also Turner's 3rd season and just enough of a tease to keep him around Washington for 3+ more seasons until he was fired in the middle of the 2000 season. The 78 Redskins went from 6-0 to 8-8. Bad, but not a losing record. The 87 Chargers went from 8-1 to 8-7. Again, bad but not a losing record in the end. There are other instances of all out collapses, but the Bills collapse (esp. if the lose out) will be right up there were the most spectacular collapses in NFL history. The Chargers, Lions, and Bills. Good company.
  18. Yeah, yeah. But is Walker out of his stance yet?
  19. Must be a bad groin concussion.
  20. What's the big deal? The season is over. A high-motor guy with one good foot isn't going to help.
  21. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1246335 Coaching question: Might it be better to have a coach that can take some supreme talent, give it a vision, keep it focused, and make it cohesive? That is, build character rather than accept a lesser talent that has better character beforehand.
  22. What's wrong with your brain? Donte Whitner was the 8th pick in the 2006 draft. That means he was picked in the top 10. Get it?
