  1. and get to the playoffs before the Bills?
  2. Why not just post what the team's draft intentions are on the website? Might as well put their board up too.
  3. Why not? The Bills are bristling with talent at every other position.
  4. Detroit, Oakland, New York (Jets), Atlanta, and Houston are huge markets, so they should be wildly successful under this theory -- all Super Bowl contenders. Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, San Diego, New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh are smaller markets and they should all be struggling under poverty and have no talent. The cries of poverty and that small markets imply an inability to field a competitive product just don't jive with reality.
  5. A fair guess, I think. The power seems to be with the business bean counters (Brandon, Overdorf) and the coach (Jauron). Jauron failed to meet his own publicly announced expectations this year, and in order to save his job he very well might have to relinquish some responsibility. Hopefully, the bean counters will be told to give up their new found scouting and personnel responsibilities (this never made any sense at all, Brandon apologists notwithstanding) and return those to the scouting department as well. The monkey in this wrench is that Modrak has shown to be pretty aloof and more of a sounding board than decision maker; it was reported last year that he turned down the offer to succeed Levy. At the time, people felt Modrak would still have a big influence in the direction of the franchise, but we find out now that Modrak is still not a member of the brain trust from Ralph's own lips.
  6. It's raining again. Darn you, JP!
  7. A good loss is if they can stay "in it" until the 4th quarter.
  8. Disagreements in high pressure businesses are not really uncommon, and neither are explosive emotional outbursts. Such outbursts are better viewed as someone's deep passion for his job. The situation needed to be dealt with if things were getting overtly hostile, but a good executive can distinguish between the situation and the people he's placed in that situation. You forgot facilities, scouting, and front office. Oh, and the Bogeyman who is holding the Bills back through his supernatural powers.
  9. Not only that, but given enough time any coach will become successful as well!
  10. He's not an elite receiver. He's the best receiver on a team with a dysfunctional passing game.
  11. Edwards has started 20+ games so the answer is obvious.
  12. All of this data clearly supports the notion that Bill Parcells always builds winning teams by chasing skills position players as the core of his teams.
  13. So what you're saying is that most of these guys are in their prime and most productive years.
  14. McGahee played for the Redskins when? Kenard Lang is my guess.
  15. What makes you think JP has this attitude?
  16. No big deal. Seriously, just curious.
  17. So, you are saying you are not an owner of a business, correct?
  18. More likely to see Stefano Vannelli get hired as GM.
  19. It's more exciting to shop at Goodwill for players and turn around and blame them for not having enough talent when it hits the fan.
  20. Ah, yes. The "no accountability" theory. I love that theory because it can be applied universally.
  21. Can we trade him for a new front office?
  22. They are both undefeated!
  23. Well, I read a quote from one of the players that said, "It's not fair; we're a much better team than our record shows." It's good that he believes that, but he is obviously wrong. There is no Bogeyman using his supernatural powers to cause the Bills to fail. As Bill Parcells put it, "You are what your record says you are." For the Jauron era, the record says these Bills are losers.
  24. That would be my guess as well. Jauron was not successful as the Bears personnel guy and after a couple years, Bears management changed the power structure and hired Jerry Angelo. And, no most coaches do not make the best personnel scouts. Consensus is a good shield though. Nobody can be held accountable for idiotic decisions because no one actually made the decision per se. It allows people that are unqualified for their job to formulate strategic decisions by gauging others reactions to their random plans. It allows people to coast unnoticed on the job and let other dogs pull the sled.
  25. In other news, the AP reports that the Sun will rise in the east tomorrow. Shocking, we know. Teams always have these meetings after the season is over. This isn't news.
