Yes, law is a matter of interpretation unless one believes in the omniscience of judges and juries. I think we can agree they are fully human. -

Nice bait and switch. You originally stated there was no or a poor definition of aggravated disorderly conduct (which is false/weak as it is defined in the Ohio code) only to go off meandering about how it isn't easy, economical, frequent to convict "small crimes" in a very general way (court cost, case specifics, police errors, etc.). Congratulations. -

Hunh? Ohio Rev.Code § 2917.11(A) and Ohio Rev.Code § 2917.11(E)(3) define the terms in a court of law. Why would fighting in the presence of a police officer be "very hard" to prosecute? -

Yeah, I know. I was commenting on the suggestion that "anyone" would jump a police line to enter a shooting gallery on the pretext that someone they knew may be in the field of fire to help. Some people might just yell, "Gun! Get the fug down!" -

Apparently not. Hey, life's a video game. Running out into a wild west shootout to "save someone" is considered normal when you can just slug a few more quarters in and get more lives, I guess. -

I don't know... seems to me that in basic they teach you to get your ass down when the other team is/may be shooting live rounds at you. And trying to fight the guys telling you to take cover seems as disorderly as it does stupid. -
T. Graham's new Peters article
Sisyphean Bills replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another question is whether or not Peters even really wants to be in Buffalo. Buffalo isn't exactly winning championships and the front office refused to negotiate on his deal all of last year. Believe it or not, some people can take it personal when someone smugly decides negotiations are unilateral and "plays hard ball" to ultimately everyone's expense. The demands may not be "retarded" at all; they may simply be the extreme demands of a player that is fed up with the front office (remember the genius that was the Couiseau negotiation? Front office people not even meeting with the kid because they had better things to do?) and wants to play his cards and move on. -
Actually, baseball people look at the pitcher's ERA, ERA+, APR, and a dozen other stats to evaluate a pitcher's effectiveness. The winning percentage is a nice simplistic stat, but its understood to be a function of the team overall and as such is a very broad brush. Not entirely meaningless, but certainly not the Holy Grail of statistical measurements for direct comparison. Baseball people would laugh off an argument based on a single winning percentage stat, used with 0 other evidence, as the sole basis for claiming one pitcher to be better than another.

Well, the only reason teams win football games is the QB.
-
He was an All Pro on a team that won the Super Bowl and an All Pro laying the ball out for Randy Moss to run under. Twice in a 15 year career. (I'm not saying Brad sucks. But, he is far from a great QB that carried teams on his arm to the promised land.)
-
Actually, I'd be happy if he could just fold up into a fetal position without dropping the ball when the jail breaks start happening after Trent, presumably, goes down.
-
Everybody knows the Bucs were a great organization held back by their QBs. Doug Williams, Steve Young, and Trent Dilfer were the reason the Bucs sucked (and, yes, I know all 3 of those guys own Super Bowl rings). It wasn't until a stud QB like Brad Johnson (and, yes, he looked "super" in Dallas last year) came to Tampa that they could get over the hump and win a Lombardi of their own.

Whitner's Salary
Sisyphean Bills replied to Buffalo Destroyers!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They were probably thinking, "Damn, we have to get to the cap minimum somehow, Mr. Littmann." "Yeah, it's the rules of the CBA. We have to get up to the minimum somehow." "Ok, ok. Toss a wheelbarrow of cash at ...", throws a dart at the wall, "Yeah, that high-motor kid. What the heck." -
What team helped themselves the most in FA?
Sisyphean Bills replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This really is hilarious though. The coaches and GMs say that the Bills improved themselves the most by signing T.O. These are the same guys, for the most part, that couldn't get their press releases out fast enough that they had no interest whatsoever in bringing T.O. to their own teams. It seems like a bit of schadenfruede to me, savoring their good fortune of "missing out" on the cancer. -

What? Bell could walk out on the field and be an instant All Pro this year. After all, he wears the Bills uniform. What could go wrong? -

Of course, that GM might really be interested in Peters and posturing a bit to drive the price down. -
Per PFT: Bills Shopping Parrish

Does it matter? Before prison, he was almost totally invisible. Now he'll be gone completely. The real point is there are plenty of average or worse WRs out there making the same or more coin. It doesn't make sense to compare NFL salaries in a vacuum or to Burger King salaries. -

I'd take him at $4M over Donte Stallworth at $5M. And Berrian is only $7M/yr. -

The problem is that in an offensive scheme where the passing game is mostly throwing the ball within a 5 yard zone around the line of scrimmage, an open field jitterbug speed freak like Parrish has minimized potential. There is no attempt to work him into an open area where he can do damage. -
Maybe he can play DE.

I'd rather try to find a roster spot for him than give him away. T.O. signed a 1 year deal only, so having to get rid of a younger WR to "make room" for T.O. doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Hardy may not be ready this year as a WR and having something other than cut-rate depth at all positions is not something to be laughed off. And we all know that RP is the real deal as a special team player. He adds more to the team than, say, another useless FB/TE hybrid or Hardy on crutches.
